Every time we offer a suggestion
we get laughed at and told we are asking for handouts.

I still believe that the best way to revive the banks is to go through the homeowners. Isn't bailing out and giving money to the big buisnesses still essentially trickle down economics? It's going to take too long for this stimulus to reach the average citizen. By then too many people will be without a job/home/food, etc.

If Palin had not tried to make all this right when all was wrong
maybe it would have gone away. Lady on CNN tried to engage other people to say Levi should just shut up and no one agreed with her. Palin paraded her kids and him around and then to have him living in her home after all this came out about her daughter being pregnant. Moderator brought up about Levi's mother on drug charges and guess what, guest came back with Palin's SIL charged with robbing houses. Can you imagine if Palin had gotten in all those meth labs in the White House (both sides!) Talk about a hillbilly hoedown.
Your time out didn't make you
Tax cuts/credits, progressive tax system and social programs aimed at creating opportunities are as American as apple pie. Those policies and initiatives can be found punctuating the pages of our country's history since the time of its inception.

Tax schemes that move the wealth of the masses upward toward an exclusive, elite power class (as in the now defunct Soviet Union), government ownership/takeover of banking and lending institutions and massive buy-outs of privately held properties (homes) such as John McCain proposes to "fix" the mortgage crisis smack of communism and are not exactly what you would call traditional American values. Got it?
well, you make it sound like Obama is doing something wrong by being paid -
x
WRONG AGAIN. If you took the time to

words of the video were, "As part of LAST YEAR'S federal stimulus package."

Here on planet earth, it's 2009, which would make "last year" 2008, which would mean that Obama wasn't elected or in power yet.

What year is it on the planet where YOU reside?

Two things I just heard that make her look better all the time!

#1:  Democrat Senority Minority Leader Harry Reid actually suggested to Bush that he nominate Harriet Miers.

#2: Some of most radical conservatives are beginning to whine about it.

Could it be that Bush, reminiscent of Rumsfeld's assertion that You go to war with the Army you have, realizes that he came into office with the Supreme Court HE had and is trying to maintain the structure of the court, and, in doing so, is actually doing something FOR Democrats??

I wonder how much his approval ratings will increase if Harriet Miers indeed turns out to be someone who is REASONABLE.

It will take some time to make this kind of change...... sm
but with the advance of technology, it might not be as long as we think. I would think within the next 10 years, this will be a reality. Obama seems to like to move pretty quickly. By that time, I will be too old to be considered for employment in other fields and too young for retirement (if there is such a thing by the time I get there). Those of us who have dedicated 20 to 30 years or more to this profession will be up the proverbial creek without a paddle if we don't find something else now while we are still employable.

As to who's job it will "save", probably that of software writers and software companies and computer companies....in other words, the technology fields. Interesting no mention was made of the number of jobs that may be lost by MTs, editors, etc. Wonder what those numbers would be?
She didn't make it up. In fact, it's not the first time

these domestic terrorists bought an abortion clinic.  Now, they "need a bigger office."

Operation Rescue president Troy Newman said that his group has discussed the idea of buying the tan, windowless clinic in east Wichita. He made the comment after the Tiller family announced that the clinic would be closed permanently.

"I would love to make an offer on that abortion clinic, and that's some of the discussion that we're having," Newman said in a telephone interview Tuesday from his group's headquarters in Wichita.

Tiller was shot May 31 while serving as an usher at his church. Scott Roeder, a 51-year-old Kansas City, Mo., resident, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Tiller attorney Dan Monnat declined to discuss Newman's suggestion.
"I'm just not going to respond to every irreverent publicity stunt or comment by these extremists," Monnat said.

Newman's group bought another former abortion clinic in Wichita in 2006 for its headquarters, but he said the group needs to expand. "We need a bigger office," he said.

Next time, make the effort to remove the pictures. SM

They don't come out.  Also, the colors obscure the names of the people who made the quotes making them worthless.  How is one to argue about who said the quote if you can't read it.

Yes, Lurker, it's time to make more phone calls and get these

Proby around the time they make GWBush's... smarty... nm
.
Yeah, next time we're just going to make our candidate a pop star.
Since it worked out so well for y'all.

Why don't you just let go of the bitterness already? It's petty.
A suggestion

I've been thinking about you stating on a public forum/message board that I am the person responsible for threatening you and your family.  I assume these sorts of threats to a person via email are illegal, not sure what the charge would be if brought to litigation, however, I would think that your stating publicly you are sure I'm the person responsible is probably a very bad idea on your part.

I am a 54-year-old grandmother who has never harassed anyone via email.  The closest I have ever come to anything harassment-wise were the ugly emails I got from the former owner of this board.  I still have them.  Please feel free to email me if you have any questions, I have had the same email for about 8 years.  If you truly believe I am the person responsible for terrorizing you and your family I think you should inform the authorities investigating these threats of my personal information so they can assure you I am not the person you have accused me of being.

Suggestion
Gosh, darn it, why don't you get this information post haste to RNC headquarters.  Maybe they can have McCain and Palin start talking about this stuff and  win over a few non-thinking voters in the coming days (if they can stop in-fighting).  Get these "facts" out there!
Just a suggestion s/m
I'd be mighty careful about calling people fools.  You never know who's going to end up the biggest fool.  Someone below said that I would probably come back here and eat crow if I'm wrong.  Count on it.
Suggestion for you...(sm)

They may be more your speed.

This is a ridiculous suggestion
Just like your parents can't make that decision for you Bush can't make those decisions for his daughters. For cryin' out loud, think about it? I don't believe they could sign up for Secret Service issues, because what more could the enemy ask for but a direct chance to take a presidential family member hostage. Have you even thought of the implications of that? I can't believe you all don't think this through before making such absurd suggestions...unbelievable.
Good suggestion

This is spiteful juvenile behavior and when children act out or show off you do not reward them with more attention.  You try to ignore them and if that doesn't work give them a time-out and banish them to their rooms.  Any attention she gets is obviously encouraging this person to keep at it. I say we starve her.

We all know why he picked her.....
It is so obvious that he would pick a female to back him even though he is not for EQUALITY!!
Picked him probably because
x
Yep and ABC picked that up, plus she
was interviewed on NBC today by Matt Lauer.
Certainly WOULD NOT have picked
x
Suggestion from a newbie to this board
Can we just not respond to them, a.k.a. ignore them? I know it is VERY hard, but just don't respond.

As I read in another post, there is no way we are going to change each other's opinions. A good debate is good, but when it gets ugly, and it usually does, it's just not worth wasting time.
Doubt they will follow your suggestion.
nm
That's the best suggestion I have heard yet regarding the debates. nm
NM
The power of suggestion I guess...nm
nm
Good idea. I second that suggestion.
Thanks.
Their suggestion would be a great big "duhhh"
Very similar to W's approach.
Good suggestion, I agree with you on that one..nm
nm
She was picked loooong before the
xx
And that is why McCain picked SP.n/m
x
Glad I'm not the only one who picked up on that.
It is so dreadfully uncomfortable listening to him. He's got a good speaking voice, but the uhh, um, uh, uh, um gets very old and I sit at the TV and shout "spit it out".
At first I was thinking wow they picked up....sm
on that quick, but I forgot that I get a late showing. It happened less than 5 minutes ago on the 4 pm broadcast.
Well, Obama picked her?
nm
Thanks for your suggestion, but I don't want to trade one non-secure site for another.

I'm looking for a site where the administrator is neutral and ethical and doesn't threaten people with their ISP numbers.

If there is one out there, I'd appreciate knowing about it.

As far as your posting here, that's your decision.  I couldn't care less because I'm only staying on this board long enough to see if anyone else it appalling that an administrator would track ISP numbers of posters for telling the truth about their employer.  Then I won't be coming back any more, to any of the boards here.

And thanks for finally being honest and saying it's your preference, instead of the disingenuous I'll leave.  Are you happy now? type comments that I doubt anyone believed, anyway.

My pardons to you, then. It was evidently picked up by

Fox and of course had the 'ole Fox spin put on it, riling up once again the unstable.

On CNN this morning, John McCain picked...sm
Sarah Palin because of her ideology.  She was never veted.  Investigators are in Alaska now doing so. Smart move John.
Okay....let's see...McCain picked the financial meltdown...
as the #1 issue. OBama picked his run for the Presidency. Meaning he is always going to put Barack first. McCain put his country first. End of story.
And Nancy Palosi hand picked more
than 11 of her people to vote NO, people who owed her favors.
Why I think Palin was picked as VP running mate - sm
I have this feeling that somewhere near the end of this campaign, McCain had second thoughts. I think he changed his mind about wanting to try to lead this mess of a country for the next 4 years. He's no spring chicken. I think Palin was plucked from practically out of nowhere to become his running mate because she was such a joke, so inept and incpable of handling the job of being a US vice-pres., that he knew he would lose, but didn't have to stop running and be viewed as a quitter.

Any thoughts on that?
McCain knew about Bristol before he picked her so what on Earth does that say...sm
about his judgment?!?! Palin has her hands full at home...I understand why he chose a woman but why this one I will never understand?!?!
I picked up the quack word from the original post.
No double standard here...unless only Obama detractors are allow to use the quack word. Since you have a hard time talking about more than one thing at a time, let's not divert our attention to include the third subject of homosexual marriage, OK...just keep it simple so you can keep up.
That wasn't my whole message - you just picked out the sentence you wanted to
But that's no surprise. There was one sentence in those two paragraphs about how the crats always blame the pubs, but they never take responsibility and blame the people in their own party who are at fault too. So you take one sentence out of the whole two paragraphs and say that's what the whole message was about. Nice try. My message was about this admistration so far being a disaster in less than one month. The only ones who see it okay are the kool-aid drinkers, and that I'm sick of all the people acting as though there was never a United States until Obama came along. Since you evidently did not read my message I'll repeat it now.

American has been around for over 200 years. We've had some good presidents and we've had some bad presidents, but Obama did not discover a new country here.

Since McCain was not elected nobody can say whether or not he would have been a better president or not, so time to put that dog to rest.
Picked Rahm Emanuel, most left wing liberal for
Wow, real great choice.  I wished he would have picked more of a conservative or at least someone for both sides of party.  Great way to make start as President.
NOBODY can make Saddam look good. But Bush seems to be the ONLY one who can make him look less

If you can't make abortion illegal, just make it impossible (sm)

That's right, Bush is still alive and well.  Check this out.

Yeah, I know it's MSNBC, but how many other people are doing a lame duck watch?
