My take on gay marriages....

This is my take on this.  I was raised in a church, went to a Christian school, I can quote the Bible for ya and according to the Bible that I was raised with and my interpretatin of it, then homosexuality would indeed be wrong.

With that being said, LOTS of stuff is biblically wrong in the world today, but the FREEDOMS that people have should not be affected by people's beliefs or lack thereof.  If we want to get down to the Bible aspect, the Bible also says that a woman shouldn't show her body to anyone but her husband..........so why do I have to drive by big strip club signs with my children in the car?  They OF COURSE should be shut down immediately!  Our body is a "temple", smoking, drinking, OVER-EATING, etc cause damage to this temple.  So, we need to immediately take action to ban cigarettes, alcohol and all fast food places!

The list could go on and on, but the real point is that homosexuality basically disgusts some people, which is fine, really, BUT that shouldn't make it illegal!  As long as a gay couple getting married does not actually HARM another person, then what right does ANYONE have to stand up and say it can't be done?

If your belief is that it is against the Bible, then FINE, WONDERFUL, let the person answer to whoever it is they believe in after they die and let THEM pay for their consequences.  If you believe it is a sin that's fine, everyone has FREEDOM OF CHOICE to commit their sins, a law has nothing to do with sinning, it has to do with JUSTICE and stopping two people in love from being married is NOT justice!

Oh, so this is why the dems are for gay marriages.
ewwww

affect gay people's paychecks? Who'da thought?
Civil marriages don't just involve
Lots of people are married by JPs. Have for years. And a church might decide that they would not hire a heterosexual on the basis that they "weren't married in the church". Granted, most don't even inquire, but it could happen, if we accept the governor's ridiculous statement. And he suggests that if they did, it would be hunky-dory. Churches aren't required to recognize "civil marriages" by his pronouncement. This would obviously have to include homosexual and heterosexual marriages or now we have a THIRD type of marriage.

My point is that there is no legal differentiation between a "civil marriage" and one that is performed in a church and never has been. If the governor is now suggesting that there is such a difference, he is nuts.
