Not hatred, outrage because of blind loyalty, and I am an Independent....sm

In Reply to: Haters? I am independent, but have seen - EXTREME hatred... from the left. nm

Democrat who thinks for herself and does not have to swallow party lies, or cling to bad loyalties. America means we can ,and SHOULD think for ourselves, I may carry a party affiliation, but I go with my gut, my own intelligence, my instincts, and all the information and education I can get.....you can follow a party, but not into a burning building, as the Bush supporters do....we can all be independent, that is why we have this country, time to get away from that "US OR THEM" theology and be AMERICAN, blind party loyalty is just mass insanity.

Blind loyalty, sad. You need to wake up.nm
z
Faith and blind loyalty are two different things
You are looking down your nose at people who differ in their beliefs than you. If we have convictions based on our faith (many faiths including Jewish, Christian/Catholic & Muslim consider Israel to be holy territory) then who are you to belittle what we see happening such as fulfilling of propehcy etc.? Just because you don't believe what is happening there has any Biblical/Koranic basis does not make us wrong or loony or whatever. Your statements basically made fun of people of faith, and I don't think that is very tolerant of you.
Be worried about blind loyalty, not learning from history....sm
be worried about people who put party politics before the good of the country and its people, be worried about waging foreign wars we have NO RIGHT to fight (and by the way, what are we winning there, please remind me). And where do all you DOOMSDAY PROPHETS get all your future information, do you channel Nostradamus, have a crystal ball, or what???
The essence of their outrage is hijacked by just plain hatred.
hatred of Bush, anything to do with Bush. The mere mention of his name causes the bile to rise and the red mist to engulf them.  They hate, hate, hate.  They blame, blame, blame. It's what they do.  There is no having conversations with them.  They don't see reason. They don't see fairness.  They see nothing but hate.
Sorry, but I am independent. As far as hatred,
nm
Open your eyes that your blind hatred is consuming you. nm

Their loyalty is so misguided though...
They think he will take care of their financial woes and lead them to the promised land, when all he will do is lead them to poverty. He is betting on those that will pay no attention to what he is really all about, all the issues he side steps and refuses to discuss, simply because the media doesn't go at him like McCain. They will be sorry they didn't.

Too many followers are just looking for a free ride or a free ride for someone they know...

Jesse Jackson for once told the truth. He told it like it was. Jesse Jr is a big buddy of Obama and even he didn't fall for O's promises until O promised him the world, so now he backs him. What crooks these folks are.

EXACTLY! He has no loyalty to THIS country

Thank God your Obama has no loyalty to his

Don't you wish ? Issue is character, trust, loyalty and
What about the rest of the list. Again, question is what does this kind of repeated behavior spanning ?many years say about a man's character, especially one who now implores a nation to admire his character, trust his judgment, believe he is loyal to his porported "cause" and that he respects women...the votes he now seeks
I am independent....independent of either party.
I am registered with neither. And I am not really interested in your interpretation of what a Republican is or is not.

I was talking about Obama's stand as an Illinois state senator. Since I do not live in Illinois and was not one of his constituents that rather rude indictment of what I would or would not do is moot. Had I been a resident of Illinois you can bet your sweet bippy there would have been plenty of senator/representative contact.

Not voting for Obama DOES give me a clear conscience. Whatever calamity he wreaks, it will not be because I put him in charge. If he gets his way we will become a socialist state. That is something I do NOT want to be a part of. PERIOD.
Try again - Outrage should be with
Clinton/NAFTA - that's where it began. Unfortunately it continued on. GW may have not helped, but Clinton started it.

Shame on you for distorting facts.
Where was your outrage......
when Muslim men in this country beat and murdered their daughters and wives? Why didn't you call them Muslim terrorists? Religious zealots? Pleeze...... get off the "Christian" kick you seem to be stuck on. There are plenty of Muslims in this country who are true terrorists and hate you for no other reason than you are just an American, religion or not! The black men who were just arrested after the CIA caught them planning to blow up a building and now the other black man who converted to Islam and was trained by the jihad. Where is all your outrage about that? Please get your priorities in order!

This man should not have been killed. He would have had to answer to God sooner or later but your lack of compassion or outrage for the children murdered at his hands is quite telling!
The Death of Outrage.
Ever read it? Great book.  Bill Bennett wrote it.  It's very applicable to certain people.  You might not like it.  Well, anyway, what Bennett was doing (and he explained it) is what you would do in a hypothetical philosophical discussion.

I'll use a silly example: Suppose we were in the Star Wars galaxy, both former senators, sitting at a posh club on Coroscant drinking jin-jin juice. You happened to remark to me, You know, I hear it has been said in the Outer Rim that if we killed all the Jedi babies, there would be less mind control instances. Now, some ditz from the Tatooine Times-Picayune records us secretly and has it on MSNBCABCCBSNBCFOX channel on the Galactic Network. Except, they only playback this part,if we killed all the Jedi babies, there would be less mind control instances.  Would you still say it was stupid, ill-conceived of yourself to say that?  Bennett was alluding, of course, to Freakanomics, and if you don't know what that is, then you have no business even discussing this subject at all.  But if you DID know what that was, and you were of a mind to say, he should have mentioned Freakanomics often during the conversation, then I would ask you this.  Do you constantly say over and over in each sentence in a conversation any reference you are alluding to in a discussion?  Oh, I know how very bad many here want to portray Bill as a racist.  But he isn't.  Not that the truth will matter one iota to you.  Remember that stupid remark your HERO Bill Maher made on his show that got him yanked off the air?  Remember, he called Clinton a coward and the terrorists heroes.  He wasn't really serious, he was just kind of throwing it out there, but GOSH OH GOLLY people took him seriously and POOF he was gone. He's back, which is unfortunate, but I know how much you like him.  See, sometimes people say things in ways you really have to dig for the meaning.  I will give you that Bennett could have said what he said differently.  Hyperbole is wasted on people with concrete thinking (all Republicans are rich, The Democrats are the party of the poor).  What I WON'T GIVE YOU is that Bennett is a racist.  Because he isn't.

So sick of phoney outrage......

Maybe if ppl had half a brain, they would be outraged by real issues. Our constitution has been used as TP. Ignore your rights and they will just go away.

when female commentator on Fox morning show made comment about Sara being nominated because she has  "t**s" (female mammary glands).  I saw the clip -- have heard no anguished cries from the conservatives about sexist on this one.

Yawn. More phoney outrage.

Reply to phoney outrage over Chicago politics is on message.
from which so many repugs on this board suffer and the silence they maintain on W's reign of terror and corruption.
Love how outrage against genocidal statements is deemed "political correctness" by the Right.
How absolutely low can they go.
We are blind.

We have become so successful that we have gotten a bit big for our britches here.  Until 9/11, we thought nothing would happen on our own shores.  Other countries hate us.  When we declared war in Iraq, almost everyone turned their backs on us.  Yet we continue to ship American jobs out of the country.  We continue to buy food and products from other countries that may not have the best regulations.  Here we have people's medical histories on our computer screens and the same information could very easily end up on someones computer screen in India to be typed.  The outsourcing of transcription, in my opinion, is one of the dumbest things we have ever done.  We are so arrogant that we often don't stop to see the big picture.

I love our country and I'm proud to be an American, but I am rather disappointed in how things are going in our country.  We are in deep crap here and I hope and pray that we will get some people in Washington who have a brain and can change things for the best....granted....nothing can be a quick fix and I can't imagine things changing for a few years at least.  I want a good change though.  I won't vote for change just because it is different.  What is the point of change if that change doesn't help in the long run?

You are so blind!

All you want to do is sit around and complain about things and point at one political party for the blame.  You list issues like the war, economy, etc.....and yet when someone actually responds with information, you simply ignore it and say it is nonsense.  What is nonsense is the fact that you never rebuttable with anything of significance.  For once, post something of substance.

I'm not blind.

He has addressed the issues that are important to me personally.

John McCain and his cronies, on the other hand, only recently discovered there IS a middle class in the USA, you know, the "whiners."

you are so blind nm

There are none so blind as......... sm
those who will not see.

Personally, and bash away if you want, I feel that Bush did as good of a job as he could have with the hand he was dealt. I daresay no one on this board could have done a better job. If you want to bash me for that, get out the hammer, but I will not get into a shouting match with anyone here. Last time I checked, this was a free country (how much longer I will be able to say that remains to be seen) and I am entitled to my opinions.

I particularly liked this passage from this article and feel it speaks volumes of the climate in America today, not just on a national front but right down to the smallest governmental divisions, like small towns and schools.

"Perhaps if Americans stopped being so divisive, and congressional leaders came together to work with the president on some of these problems, he would actually have had a fighting chance of solving them."
There Is None So Blind As He Who Will Not See
If you choose to live in ignorance, it's up to you.

Wallow in it for all I care. Apparently you enjoy your intellectural oblivion, like all the other obamazombies.

And, seriously, 'babycakes?'

What are you, 9? Does your mommy know you're on her computer, dearie?

There are non so blind as those who will not see.
Personally, I hope you guys keep this up indefinitely since (as some of the GOP leaders have pointed out) it undermines the party's credibility and makes them all look like a bunch of fools.
How blind.........
First of all, O'Reilly has never ever suggested the man deserved what he got or anything close. That has even been talked about on his show with others saying he never suggested violence against this man, so quit regurgitating garbage you hear on liberal hate mongering outlets.....

Let's remember 'Thou Shalt Not Kill'.... the man who killed Dr. Tiller should be prosecuted just like anyone else who takes another's life like that; however, keep in mind, Dr. Tiller has been murdering also by the thousands for many decades. He too was a murdered.

Why should O'Reilly be accountable for anything? Remember FREE SPEECH? He can say whatever he pleases just like the liberals who love to back abortionists.

"Are anti-choice groups celebrating today? An abortion doctor is dead so women won't have unwanted pregnancies!

I personally never celebrate anyone being murdered, even this man, even though I find it hard to understand how he could even step foot in a church knowing he murders the very lives God put here. Very hypocritical to say the least. But that is now between him and God...

Too bad you're so worried about the anti-choice groups you BELIEVE to be celebrating this man's death but you show no compassion at all for the babies he murdered for decades! Where's your concern for those children?

How about the war on terror including people like this doctor who slaughtered near-term babies for decades.. what exactly would you call him?

You are so narrow minded that you don't even get that there are many people who are against abortion that do not consider themselves religious.... you seem to be stuck on the term "religious" for some reason...

What do you call groups that push for murder of these unborn children? They're not TERRORISTS?!! What a hypocrit!
You are cold, blind to yourself and obviously
My question for you would be the same as the question the OP asked Sam. Who do you hate more? Blacks, the poor or Dems? Unless you are truly interested in knowing exactly what happened there and why people could not get out, I will not dignify your post with my time, much less my comments, other than to say that people there did not refuse to leave....they could not get out. 1863 people died in that city behind broken levies.

Here's one issue you might consider. Funding for the levies/US Corps of Engineers who are responsible for their maintenance…repeatedly cut to fund Iraq and tax cuts for the rich, despite repeated warnings of the need to shore up, maintain and/or replace them. The literature is out there for those who are interested. Let me say this much loud and clear. By no means is this the only factor. It is one of many. You show no real interest in understanding this and therefore, I have no real interest in debating with this kind of uninformed rhetoric.

I have lived on the Gulf Coast all my life. When Katrina happened, I was paying close attention. To blame the victims of this horror IS cold-blooded. You want to be that way, fine. No problem. But I will not stand by and be silent when I see this kind of stupidity. Whether you care or not, besides the 1863 who died there, there are refugees from Katrina in the 10s of thousands from the incompetence and failures of FEMA, withholding of federal emergency funds to the most heavily stricken areas, either deliberate or as a result a president who does not know how to read a map. Declaring emergencies is his job. At the very least, take a look at this map and tell me there isn't something wrong with this picture.

And by the way, this is not just about what happened during the storm or its immediate aftermath. This is also about failures that were NOT local leadership that occurred over and over and over again over months and years in the aftermath.

No one can say they didn't see it coming

Blind faith.....
In a way it is. I have faith that God is there for me. That doesn't mean things are sugar and honey all the time, because they're definitely not.

Jesus ask of to just have the faith of a mustard seed. He is asking us to have no more faith than that of the size of a mustard seed, which is meniscule, and you will be surprised where that will take you. You know, we are asked to ask questions of God, to seek him, and ask Him to prove Himself. What better way for God to show us his love than to ask Him to prove himself?

You might just see great things happen in your life.

It is sad that people are that blind.

not blind or ignorant
I was going to vote for O but found that I just cannot due to the abortion issue.  Do I like McCain.  NO.  So I am stuck.  But not everyone that doesnt vote for O is a racist or stupid or blind.  Just an FYI
Are you so blind as to what's happening in
this country that you truly still think McCain should've won? Do you not see what republicans do to our economy EVERY TIME? Are you enjoying this Bush Depression which is only just beginning? Our only hope is that Obama can at least slow it down, but Bush has already done the damage. Unemployment rates are soaring, homelessness is soaring, jobs are flying overseas with the blessing of republican corporate tax cuts and loopholes, the deficit is astronomical now, etc. etc. etc. The rich are getting richer & the middle class is getting poorer. It's a deja vu of the Reagan/Bush years. Get your head out of the sand & pay attention to what's happening economically to this country. I don't give a flying flip about this idiotic birth certificate argument or any of the other thousand fake issues Fox has invented to get it's viewers fired up. What I DO care about is the economy & Americans losing their jobs and homes because of republicanomics.
Plus PM Brown is going blind. nm

Well of hatred???
Extremist talking point. Do you realize that this entire plan of attack, i.e. liberals hate this and hate that and ooze this and ooze that and spew this and spew that requires not one iota of rational or analytical thought. It is simply responding to just about anything a liberal says with bumper sticker talk, no cognitive thought going on whatsoever. It is becoming tiresome.
No hatred
for a group of people but a nasty, immoral type of behavior. There is a difference.
Hatred
for immoral acts is not a sin.
Bush picks on the blind.sm

It was inadvertent, but still funny that he is such a dodo.  Was going to post the link on Wonkette, but there was a curse word on that page, and did not want the 3 Bush supporters over on the other board to get their undies in a knot.

With any luck, she lives on the Gulf coast in a low-lying mobile home park.
Sometimes I do too, and I don't turn a blind eye to the the "party"
and its mistakes and exactly why we are in the shape we are in. I do not check my principles nor my thinking at the door of the DNC as you apparently do. The Democrats lost any high ground they had when they denied having anything to do with this and blamed it entirely on Republicans. Totally lacking in integrity.

Maybe "sometimes" is the operative word here.
Yep, but you won't get the bunch of blind eyes on
xx
Turned a blind eye? Did you hear what
the "frightened senile old woman" had just called Louis Farrakhan's Messiah? Maybe next time Sen. McC will just let the crowd go, as O did this morning. After McC stood up like the man he is in front of his own, this morning when O was "acknowledging him," his someone from his own crown yelled "shoot him." I can assure you, you will not here a word of this on CNN or MSNBC and probably not anywhere else, but I heard it. O hesitated, smiled and kept kept on ranting. Now, when this happened at McC's rally, he was inciting riotous behavior and creating havoc, but O is calming his crowds. There is such a double standard in this election it is pathetic.
Then you're blind, deaf, and
pretty dumb seeing as there's a page full of whining about it further down.

I don't even know where YOU are coming from, no BLIND allegiance here at all.....sm
I would rather work hard for a solution, admit when I am wrong, and move on with things. Too much whining, crying, finger-pointing, name-calling....it is like a badly-controlled daycare center here most days. We have a huge problem that our kids and grandkids are going to inherit, I only said I would support my president and a country, so put your claws in and get a clue.

I don't see her as being consumed by hatred.

From her posts, it's clear that she's a very compassionate, kind, intelligent person who is capable of thinking independent thoughts.  She cares about people who need help in this country.  Nobody who is consumed by hatred can do that.

She's expressed fear and concern and frustration at this administration and where it's taking us, and she expressed anger at the person who's leading us in that direction.  She's not alone.  An increasing number of Americans feel the same way.

The only person I see consumed by hatred is YOU.  You've repeatedly littered this board with your hateful posts.  It's very easy to see who the hateful people are.

I suggested below that you/all the others (assuming there really is more than one) should be ignored. You contribute nothing to this board but anger, rage, hatred and skewed thinking.

Having said that, I won't bother reading/responding to your posts any more.  It's simply not worth it because you don't want to debate.  All you want to do is attack others.

I pity you.
