Wellthe Klan might thing their Christians but real Christians don't consider them that sm

They are a radical group calling themselves Christians, like AL Queda calls themselves Muslim.

No not Christians, just far right wing radical Christians who,,,sm
believe that God speaks directly only to them and do not welcome anyone who does not have their beliefs.
Bitter, bitter dems

I'm sick of you all still tearing down the pubs. You won the election. This board is for EXPRESSING OPINIONS, NOT TO BASH EVERYONE THAT HAS A DIFFERENT OUTLOOK THAN YOU.

There are a few people on here that do nothing but bash. Very unhappy people. I said it before and I'l lsay it again... the election is OVER. Let it alone. Discuss the issues WITHOUT BASHING. We are all entitled to our opinions. There is no need for the bashing here. Let's talk about THE REAL ISSUES for a change.

Oh, and for the bashers, I'm not leaving this board. I have the right to express my opinion, which I have been doing when I have something DECENT to say.

Don't be so bitter....
I'm passionate about politics also, I am just not passionate about Barak Obama.
Why are some so bitter?

Because they can't let go. I am not happy with the election, but I don't post nasty posts (except when I was in a bad mood that one day). I'm still waiting for O to fall flat on his face, and I know by posting this, I will be bashed big time.  But, I'm waiting and watching.

It's mostly the democrats who are being nasty on this board.  You can't seem to make an honest comment without certain ones bashing you. All I can say is they better get a life and stop the crap. I'm sick of it. I come here to talk about issues and I don't need the O lovers to call me a liar, etc., even if I post links to hear it for themselves.

I've been called a racist, etc. for some stuff I've posted, but I have posted both sides. Don't get bashed for democrat postings, just pubs. It will never change. There are some people on this board who should be banned big time. I've seen their posts on the other boards and they bash there, too, so it's not just this board. They are very unhappy people and feel if they don't bash someone once or twice a day, it doesn't make them happy.

Just my opinion.

'Bitter and angry'... TRANSLATION:  As a black woman she is not subservient or meek, does not do the 'buck and shuffle' or says 'yes'm and give you teeth and gums to make her 'acceptable' or even tolerable.  Bitter and angry...seems as if you are the one with the bitterness and anger to make such a narrow minded bigoted comment about a black woman who happens to be married to a black man who has the GALL to run for the highest office in this land...(LOL)everyone says this election is not about race but that is a flat out lie.  Question:  if the two parties who were running for this office white, would there be such a fuss?  I think not. Truthfully, in past elections the majority of either party were caucasian and that particular issue was not an issue when we voted for whoever we believed could do the job to the best of their ability.  This election has shown that IT IS ABOUT RACE because it DEFINITELY was made an issue by the racist bigoted media, by individuals such as Pat Buchanan and Bill O'Reilly (who some truly believe is their Messiah).  God gave us free will when he created us, and one of the freedoms we were given was to think for ourselves.  I am a black woman and I will convey to everyone on this board that NO ONE thinks for ME, and because I AM black it is assumed that I will vote for Obama - if that is not bigoted I don't know what is.  I will tell you this though - one thing I have learned from this election is that racism in this country is alive and well and has reared its ugly head, and a lot of things that people feel in their hearts regarding minorities are NOT being hidden because the comfort level to say such ugly and bigoted racist things seems not to be a problem.  I have never seen such ugliness and hatred on this board as long as I have been participating.  It's past sad, it really is
bitter/angry
no, not 'bitter, angry or RACIST - just telling it like it is...
bitter/angry

sm:  In response to this post; apparently you DID NOT read EVERYTHING included in my initial post.  As far as you 'wishing i don't have young people around me to hear this year in and year out' - you can say whatever you want.  You don't know me nor I you but I do know this - racism exists and some of the posts here prove it. I have done many positive things in my life; and with the young people that I feel blessed to be in my life, the main message I give them is that no matter what, we are ALL the same, and to treat others better than they may be treated.  You should read my WHOLE post, if you don't - you don't.

CK is a bitter little man who is not dealing well
Served under several administrations? Let's see. Planning director for psychiatric research under Carter in 1978. Wrote a speech for Walter Mondale in 1980. Consulted Bush on Bioethics in 2002. This guy's hey-day is well past its prime and he is headed for has-been in a hand basket. Been reading this jerk for just about 30 years now. Never could take a single word he said seriously.

Why so bitter? Because your side
Typical sore-loser attitude.
In my own bitter selfish way
I am one of those evil smokers, and every clapped and cheered as taxes have skyrocketed to at least $2-3 a pack because the sanctimonious ones, not content to ban us and our vile little smoldering sticks from all public places, felt it necessary to save us from ourselves.

When they started this tactic, a lot of smokers pointed out that it was a slipper slope to go down...what would be next? Our Twinkies? Our butter? and we were poo-pooed as being ridiculous in our attempt to defend our vice. But it looks like we weren't too far off, and we're going to continue to just blithely let it happen. They've gotten rid of transfats, they're working on eliminating salt, and slowly but surely every individual choice we could make in our private lives is being whittled away.
Could you possibly be any more bitter and hateful? sm
I see your posts all over.  You just posted on the conservative board but didn't have the nerve to put your usual "gt" signature.  I have never seen someone so totally consumed with bitterness, rage and, well, just plain ugliness.
So sorry you are such a miserably bitter person
I have no problem with someone working their butts off to be more, make more. What is your problem with that? The more they make, the more the business grows, and the more people they can employ.

BUT under O's stealing of their money, what is the motivation for ANYONE to do any better now.

Who the h@ll wants to grow their business when they know Obama wants to give it to those who have no motivation to do anything with their lives. I wouldn't.

Must be sad to be so angry towards those that better themselves.
Not bitter - I just found a different path to take
All my family are christians. I believe everyone goes to the same place, we just take different roads. If you want to believe what you want that's fine. Everyone in my family is Christian. I choose another path.
Not bitter - I just found a different path to take
I posted above my mistake -

All my family are christians. I believe everyone goes to the same place, we just take different roads. If you want to believe what you want that's fine. Everyone in my family is Christian. I choose another path.
Agree....seems very bitter and angry....
what her two little girls are learning from her. To hate their country, to feel oppressed, to believe they have been wronged all the time. Everything she spoke of that was so condemning of her country, of which I might add she got a very wonderful education and job in, speaks volumes about her.
You poor bitter person you
First of all, I am NOT a republican, never have been. Don't worry, I am fully aware of the 401K issue, and I can guarantee you all my eggs are not in one basket. But the ones that are in there sure as heck do not need to be further taxed by Obama for all his entitlement programs.

I too was born to a very poor family and we NEVER took one red dime from the government and I did without plenty. My mother would have lived under a bridge before she accepted money from the government and she was a single mom raising children when my dad died. We had NOTHING before and had nothing afterwards. Now, minimum wage. I know minimum wage. I worked for it all the way through putting MYSELF through college, not the government. My husband who came from a family of 6 children, dirt poor, also worked his OWN way through college and paid his OWN way, not the help of anyone either. He dug ditches, sewers, hauled hay in 100+ degree weather and so many other disgusting jobs you wouldn't touch. Now for those of us who didn't sit on our butts and feel sorry for ourselves, I do not feel sorry for anyone who thinks they are too good to work.

Everyone may not want to go to college but don't criticize those that do. In my county, ANYONE, ANYONE who graduates from a school in this county gets two years FREE college education.....ANYONE. Know how many take advantage of that? Not everyone that could. They're too lazy to make the effort and word hard. I suppose you have an excuse for that too. You better believe if they are making minimum wage then, it's their own fault. They had as much opportunity to better themselves as the kid sitting next to them in school. They just want a free ride because so many see their familities getting one. What's the motivation really!? No, you can't take it with you but the people savoring it as you put it should be the ones who actually work for it, not the freeloaders.

Sorry you think ONLY republicans are smart enough to educate themselves and make a living for themselves. How said for you. I'm independent....those can make their own way too!!

But you're right, everyone will be in for a big shock with Obama draining their wallets. Even the minimum wage earners are going to whining and b@tching and who they gonna blame then? I'm sure they'll find someone besides Obama though.

So get off your pity pot and grow up.....stop living in your past. THat's the problem with all our young people now. They didn't live it but they sure have plenty of people around them who raise them to feel sorry for themselves instead of motivating them to go as far as you can.
What a bitter racist person you are!!!!

Bitter, hateful and jealous? (sm)

You must be kidding.

Problems that dems have:

8 years of failed economic and foreign policy, a president who ignored the warnings for 9/11 as well as warnings of an economic meltdown, thousands of unnecessary deaths because of a cowboy mentality, war crimes instituted by the highest offices in the US, civil liberties taken away, right of privacy taken away, a barrage of last minute policies that negatively impact the environment, social well-being, and who knows what else.  And this is just the tip of the iceburg.  We are still paying for all of these actions, not only financially as well as with our country's reputation, but most importantly with lives.

Problems that pubs have:

Obama is the President-Elect and you guys are worried because of rumors about what he MIGHT do.

HMMMMMM.....

Bitter self-serving rhetoric?

I have absolutely no personal ties whatsoever to the middle east, so exactly why would I be bitter, and what would I have to gain?  Your statement makes no sense.  The main benefit of actually recognizing the history of the region (as opposed to the Israeli version of the *truth*) would be for better political relations with the middle east.  Have you noticed that the rest of the world sees what's going on?  Why do you think there is so much resentment in the middle east for the US?  Israel (or rather our empowering of it and it's abuse of that power) is one of the main problems over there.

Why would I care about your opinion?  I don't.  There are very few people's opinions that I actually value on this board.  Those would be the ones who can actually discuss a subject with reasonable viewpoints, and guess what?  Most of them disagree with me on most everything.  LOL

I'm simply trying to get you to stay on the subject, which is obviously a lost cause.

My oh my. Aren't we the bitter little bigot?
Sore loser too.
I understand totally - I'm not bitter - I'm passionate
Okay, I really didn't want to come off nasty, but think I did - guess it just got my petticoat ruffled. And I in no way think the Obama's are perfect. Far from it, but they sure beat the other crowd.
You sound bitter and should just stay in Europe
I'm no Bush fan (now), but let me tell you why I voted for him. I was tired of the dems taxing the you know what out of us. In my whole life I had never been taxed as much as when Clinton was in, and Gore was going to continue on with those taxes. I couldn't afford anything. DH and I had good jobs, but close to 38% of those paychecks were going for taxes and then each year in addition to that we ended up not paying enough and would have to fork over an additonal $1500 to 2000. We didn't own a house, we didn't have an expensive car, no fancy wardrobes, no vacations, nothing, zip, nada. We had to pass on going out to eat a lot with family because we didn't have it. We lived in a one bedroom apartment in the silicon valley. We had enough of the Clintons. We had enough of the high taxes, the bumbling yahoo from the south. The guy who said he was going to do this for us and that for us and once he got into the white house all that changed and he catered to his rich friends. He didn't have a clue as to what the average American citizen was going through. He just kept imposing taxes to fund his phony programs. He brought in NAFTA. Lots of people lost their jobs and then he created these "false" jobs (i.e. the ones that paid minimum wage and people still had to go on food stamps). People were losing their homes. You want to talk about a Hillbilly you need to start with Bill and Hillary Clinton (please no offense to the Hillbillies). Those two were a disgrace to the country and made us look like fools to other countries. His phony gaffaw to make it seem as though he thought something was funny (not presidential at all!). Then on their overseas trips the insulting mannerisms of Hillary who is suppose to be first lady but acting as though she was the Queen. When graciously given a gift from another country if she didn't like it she was overhead telling people what a piece of $*$@ it was and there was no way she was going to put it on (it was a piece of homemade jewelry). She disgraces the country and made me ashamed to call it my country (I served the country under Regan and was very proud and they yanked that out when they came into power). Then you have his lying to congress, lying to the American people, Bill & Hillary's fights in the white house. The mysterious deaths of people, the affairs, the scandels, them acting as though they are King and Queen of America. Calling people to be there at a certain time then waltzing down the stairs making sure everyone was their watching their "grand entrance". Then you had the disgraceful people he had on his staff. People stuffing classified documents into their pants pockets to hide stuff, Janet Reno, Waco Texas, Elian Gonzales, drug runs, missing people only to be found having taken a "dirt vacation", etc, etc. They were the two biggest disgraces to ever step foot into the white house and clearly did nothing of any benefit while in there.

Bush is not the brightest but neither was his predescessor. Sure Bush has a lot of faults, sure he should be impeached like Clinton was - remember that detail - Clinton is an impeached ex-president and in my opinion has lost the right to still be called Mr. President.

Gore as VP was one of the most worthless VPs we've had. I put him right up there with Quayle. Good for absolutely nothing. But I guess we should remember. He created the internet and he and Tipper were the role model for the movie "Love Story". Wait a second...I'm going to barf here... Sorry but I did not want Mr. Stiff as the next President. Especially when he was hiding and covering up what the President and Hillary were doing. He was a weakling and I did not want them in there. Do I believe the election was stolen? Yes I do. Am I sorry it was? No. Gore would have not done any better and nobody can tell me otherwise. He's an imbi*cile pushing this global warming thing of his, which he won't even listen to the expert scientist and weather people who know what is happening in the world. I still wonder what he's going to tell his kids when they ask him one day why he lied about global warming. I'd love to be there when that happens.

Am I going to vote for McCain? Are you out of your mind. No I don't like Bush. Yes I don't think he's running on all cylinders. As someone once said to me "He's one fry short of a happy meal". I'm not going to continue on with another term of Bush.

Who are you to "warn" other people. Who are you to "tell" other people who to vote for. You are entitled to your opinions, but it is this elitist attitude that gets very tiresome. There are plenty of very good reasons why half of the country did not vote for Gore. I actually did not vote for Bush, but voted against Gore. As my mom told me you have to pick the lesser of the two evils. Nobody, including you, knew Katrina was going to happen when Bush was running, you didn't know that 911 would happen. You didn't know any of the disasters that happened would happened unless you have a crystal ball, and now you act as though "you warned everyone this would happen". How someone reacts to crisis is a whole different story. Clintons were no better with the disasters that happened when they were in. Yes it could have all be handled better.

You mentioned stem cell research. Funny how that wasn't approved when Clinton was in there. Gay marriage...I heard nothing about Clinton approving it. Gay couples were struggling back then as they are now fighting for their rights to the equality that opposite sex marriages have. You make it sound as though Bush took all of this away - this is rubbish!

No, I am no Bush fan and am glad he's on his way out. I'm sure in his last days he too will be handing out pardons like Clinton did as if they a K-Mart blue light special.

Yes, this is a free country and you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to mine and mine is that you have an elitest attitude and I hope you stay in Europe.
I agree, DH's wife is bitter/naunaw

Excuse me? My goodness, aren't we the bitter one?
of all time. The challenge he laid down to Americans put us on the moon before his 10 year prediction...an awesome feat that no doubt was accomplished within that time frame to honor his memory. His legacy is the stuff legends are made of, a view that is shared with us by people worldwide. His initiatives to advance freedom, civil rights and equality were unparalled in the history of our country, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln.

Obama inspires literally MILLIONS of Americans in much the same way and for much the same reasons that JFK did. I have no doubt that he will be the transformational leader Colin Powell predicts he will be.

Your petty pot shot about the LSD trip is hateful and uncalled for. There is no way you could have possibly been around for the 1960 election...you demonstrate the maturity of a 2-year old and the ignorance (especially regarding your ill-informed comment about the 1960 election)....well, that's another story.
The old guard is going down. It is likely not to see the light of day again for quite some time. If you want to wallow around in all that negative energy, go fo it, but you have no right to begrudge ANYBODY the right to hope.
Well, she is a pretty bitter lady.........she ain't happy

How bitter you are! Had McCain made these jokes
only the other way around, I bet you would have LYAO !
Not bitter at all. BTW I wasn't a Bush lover, either! sm
Just being realistic. If you would take the time to peruse the story in a way to inform yourself, you might not have taken this attitude. He said a lot in that piece that is totally obvious!!!
You mean Christians.
Is that what you are talking about?  What other board?
That may be so....but Christians, at least the ones I know...
do not want to control the government. And too many times a strictly moral issue is ascribed to a "religious nut." Take abortion for example. There are nonreligious people who are against abortion, strictly on moral grounds, that it is wrong to kill innocent life. There are liberals who are against abortion for that reason...their reasoning is that you can't be against war because it kills and be for abortion, because it kills. That is their reasoning. For me, the basic moral precept of not committing murder should apply to the unborn as well as the "born" and that basic moral precept is enhanced by my faith. Everything I know about Jesus tells me his heart breaks every time an abortion occurs. Because of my faith, my heart also hurts for those millions of lives ended. People talk on and on and on about individual freedoms...yet walk all over the most basic of those...the right to life. Somehow people think they have the right to choose whether someone gets to live or not live. And I think that is way too much power...for one individual to have over the life of another. In any other case of that, when a person exercises that kind of power...it is illegal, it is wrong, it is murder, or manslaughter, or whatever you want to call it. And then you get into the business of defining when life starts. It is just my opinion that that is not a decision that is up to us. And an opinion I am entitled to. People protest the death penalty. No one calls them fanatics. To me there is no difference...lethal injection, abortion. Both kill. Sure, one has comitted a crime, which only makes the other more heinous. What crime did that developing child commit?

I do not say that to start an abortion thread. It is just to illustrate a point. I, as a Christian, believe in a moral code. I believe you should care about your fellow man, and churches in this country used to take care of the poor and weak in this country, before such a thing as a social program. No one had to force us to do it, we just did it. That kind of serving attitude, in my opinion, is good in public servants. They do need to serve a cause greater than themselves, and in their case I am not saying it is God. I am saying it is the American people. If more lawmakers listened to their Christian teachings they would do so. Not just serving God in their everyday lives, but serving the American people, because that is their job.

I agree it is not up to lawmakers to project their beliefs on an entire nation. Again there is the issue of abortion. That is not a "religious" issue. It is a moral issue...there are many nonreligious people who believe that it is wrong. Just like people believe other things are wrong and seek to legislate against those. Not from "religious" grounds, but moral grounds.

And you shouldn't characterize all Christians with the radicals. We are exhorted not to characterize all Muslims as terrorists. Just afford Christians the same courtesy, that's all I am saying.
no wonder christians have a bad name
Wow, aren't you a little smarty pants. So glad the whole world isn't just like you. I'm a Jew, we believe G-d's name is sacred and don't like to write it out unless it is going to be protected. Maybe you should go to h*ll because you don't seem to be a good example of how a christian should behave.

I have faith in G-d, and my people have for many, many years, long before there was a Jesus.

Well, not all Christians, but most of the
one on this board. I am a diest myself.
I'm just saying what most Christians believe
Just explaining why people see Muslim as wrong. I don't judge anybody or their beliefs. I can't stand people who do that and act all high and mighty. I have my own personal ones I won't get into here, but I would never force mine on somebody else.
Do you think that Christians who

believe abortion is murder are just religious quacks trying to push their religious beliefs on others?  You don't have to be Christian to believe that abortion is wrong.

I do believe that there are some Christians out there who do turn more people away from religion than bringing them to it because of the way they go about it.  But having religion and believing in things doesn't mean that we should have to give up our beliefs because someone else does not any more than you should have to put up with religion when you don't believe.  This is where we have the problem.

I think abortion has to be a give and take kind of thing.  I personally feel that it is wrong, however, I would be willing to compromise for the sake of meeting in the middle with people who believe it is a personal choice and not murder.  I am 100% against late-term abortions as I feel there is no other word for that than MURDER.  However, I could live with the early abortions.  I have no problem with the morning after pill as to me that isn't much different than the birth control pill.

I just feel that there are people on the far right who need to unwind their panties..but I also believe that there are some far left people who need to do so themselves.

This is kind of like smokers versus non-smokers.  Smokers feel they have the right to light up wherever they want because that is their right.  However, non-smokers have a right to breathe clean air.  So which one is right?  Who rights are infringed upon?

Abortion is another subject where not everyone will be completely happy with.  No matter what decision is made, people are going to complain.  I just wish that we could somehow meet in the middle.  Allow early term, deny late-term unless it is a life/death situation and just shut up about it.

Christians?

This was a very misfortunate event, but it was just an example of cult worship and weak minded people that killed their own children.  I have no respect for people who kill children - NONE!

Christians?
I would have to wonder about that.  Christians worship Jesus/God.  Those people worshiped Jones, though they claimed to be Christians.  Christianity is not a cult.
