The Bible tells us in several books, particularly Revelations. For someone who does not believe, read it as a history book. The fact that everything it says is coming to pass is undeniable. I don't necessarily think Obama is the anti-Christ. I do think everything else is coming to pass though, and we need to be looking for who the anti-Christ is. I have had my doubts in the past about my religion as well, but it is undeniable that the things the Bible predicts will happen are truly happening now.

support Bush as our President and yet you expect everyone now to be bubbling over with excitement and accept Obama just because you do and pour our support behind him from day one. It is people like you who are so blind-sided and selfish and think only about yourself. You have been mully-grubbing Bush for 8 long years, so you never once gave him a chance. Obama has not even taken office yet and you are already deliriously happy, how do you know he is going to give you reason to beam with pride? You, along with a whole host of others, are such a foolish child.

"You don't know how to be happy without a piece of paper?" Well if that is the case then you and your husband should not be allowed to be married either. Can't you two be happy without a piece of paper. What kind of ludicrous thing to say.
I am a human being. I should have the same rights you do to be able to marry whom I want to. You sit and tell me I should be happy with being discriminated against. Is that what you said about the blacks who had to ride in the back of the bus and not be allowed to sit up with the white folks (before Rosa Parks) - "you should just be happy to be able to ride the bus". Or how about not being able to drink out of the same water fountain as the white folks - "you should just be happy your getting any water at all".
And I'm sick and tired of hearing how we should just be happy to be together and not be afforded the same things that other human beings are afforded. When I can't make decisions about my other halves health care or other issues then yeah, that bothers me. When her family hates us because we are gay and takes everything we have lived for away from us, yeah, then that bothers me.
And you you know...when Judy and Barbara get married in the sight of God, their minister, and witnesses yes, that is "lawful" and their marriage license will say so, and you can say what you want - it means nothing.
But don't sit there and say I can get married but you can't. You can keep your moral values all you want, just stop spreading that type of bigotry. We're are not pushing anything down your throat. We want to get married and live our lives without anyone interfering with us.
You talk about twisting and manipulating. God loves everyone and there is nothing to prove that God disapproves of gay or lesbian marriage. In fact if Judy is dying and nobody will take care of her but Barbara I think God will love her probably a bit more than those who are hateful and bigotted towards them and would let Judy sit and rot in a hospital bed. So don't sit there and twist God's intent into something you want to believe. After we're all gone and moved on in lives I'm sure we will know whether or not God was displeased with us. And for those who are trying their hardest to keep the others unhappy. I'm sure "He'll" have some pretty strong words for them.
God made us human. We are all not perfect by any means. You need to get a clue! God loves all of us whether or not you want to believe that. Yeah, get a clue!
BTW - in case you haven't noticed, you are not god and by your posts I'm sure not going to believe anything you have to say as though you know what Gods intents are because you don't.

That is a way to justify it in minds, yes...but it is not the truth. You would think people would at least want to know what they are supporting or choosing. Post the issues that are important to you...like your job, the econonmy, the war, your social security. By the way, while you are researching social security, check what administration had control the first time it was raided to fund other social programs.
Again...do not attribute things to me that I did not say. Abortion is a religious issue to some, a moral issue to all. Do you think you have to be "religious," a Christian, or "know God" in order to be pro life? I beg to differ. You obviously are not a religious person, but that does not mean you are not a moral person, does it? Of course not. I believe abortion to be morally wrong, just like I believe capital punishment to be morally wrong. I believe stealing is morally wrong. I believe cheating on your spouse is morally wrong. I believe pedophilia is morally wrong. And you don't have to be "religious" to believe ANY of those things are morally wrong.
And if that chaps you, so be it. I don't have to apologize to you for standing against what I believe to be morally wrong.

My point is, he is telling a different story now...
that he is writing a book than he did under oath in front of Congress. There has to be a reason for that. He still says he was wrong in the intelligence, he admits that he said *slam dunk* in reference to WMD, and he said in the congressional hearings that he believed there was WMD. Now he says different. Now he is trying to say that, in so many words, they wanted to go to war so badly that they believed his bad intelligence. That is NUTS, I am sorry, and I don't need a news outlet of any bent to tell me that. I watched him testify before COngress on TV. I know what he said. He is not the only one who believed it...a lot of intelligence agencies all over the world believed it. He just does not want his legacy to be that he gave the wrong intelligence that started the war. Well..too late. He was the head of the CIA and the buck stops there. He has already been caught in two lies. Perle was not even in the country at the time Tenet says he talked to him. Tenet lied. They have the documentation that Perle was in another country for Pete's sake. At this point I don't believe a word the man says. As to Clark...do some research on him and you will see that he was saying the same things as Tenet to the Clinton administration. Guess he believed it when he was saying it, but not when Tenet was saying it. The issue here, however, is not Clark and Powell. It is Tenet. He was the head of the CIA. Either he is lying now in the book or he lied under oath in front of Congress. Either way, he is a liar, in my opinion.

I am not on board with abortion. Since I believe (and many Jews do too, but not all) that life begins with breath, I believe it is up to each woman to make the decision that is right for her. It is not my place to judge or condemn her choice. My family has 2 children what were very much wanted and are very much loved. I feel fortunate that I never was in a position to have to make a choice regarding my pregnancies. But, just because I didn't chose to terminate a pregnancy (for whatever reason), I certainly don't want to take that choice away from another.
Basically, (and I am not referring to you personally here) if you don't believe in abortion, don't have one, but don't push your beliefs on me or anyone else.

For instance, if you go to Foxnews.com and pull up Hannity & Colmes, you'll see that the show is half liberal and half conservative. You won't find that on the others. And while you're at that site, the info regarding what Rick Warren had to say about the debate at Saddleback, and how Obama actually heard more ahead of time than McCain. Actually, it was no debate, as Obama still refuses to have a face-to-face with McCain. I guess that's presidential?
I personally prefer to know when I get my news that I get both sides of it, and the people on the network aren't afraid to put their political views out there.

control. A real woman attends to her responsibilities at home. Her Downs baby needs her to BE THERE and interact with her. It is not enough just to bring her into the world, she must care for her. A pregnant teenager needs her mother there to guide her through this unfortunate time in her life. Teenage pregnancy is devastating to the development of a young woman who should be preparing for her own adulthood not attending the needs of an infant. Infants of teenage mothers suffer also. Instead Mrs. Palin will be on the road campaigning for 2 months and then in the WH adjusting to her new job after that. Those sure aren't part-time activities. I don't approve of a part-time mother OR a part-time VP especially with such an elderly pres. Obama and Biden are vital individuals who have loving, stable home lives and will not be distracted from their duties.

A Day in the Life of a Republican
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of coffee, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to insure their safety and that they work as advertised.
All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because *some liberal* union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packingindustry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.
Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe's employer pays these standards because Joe's employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he'll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn't think he should lose his home or go hungry because of his temporary misfortune.
It's noontime and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe's deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe's money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and hisbelow-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime.
Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuckhis nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn't have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.
Joe agrees: We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have.
I am against anything that destroys life.

Yes, I am strongly pro-life...
and I have said in numerous posts that I am not against insuring children. And I am NOT. What I am against is taxing all Americans to death to pay for all kinds of programs where the waste is unimaginable. There are thousands if not millions of women who made a living having babies...under Aid for Dependent Children. If you don't believe that, talk to some people in Human Services. They sign up 2nd and 3rd generations on AFDC or whatever they call it now. Those ladies will never work and they tell you they will never work, and I can promise you they are not bettering themselves so that they can keep health care for their children. And if you look at those children, I am thinking not a lot of that check every month goes to taking good care of the kids. My point is, trim the fat on existing programs that obviously are not working...don't make NEW taxes to pay for MORE programs that no one is going monitor either. There is plenty of money floating around out there in wasteful programs that could fund insurance for children without making even MORE taxes. And what I am saying to you is that at some point, the more people who get on programs and out of the work force, the less tax money there is going to be to take care of all the programs. That is all I am saying.
And another thing, you need to read the bill. It does give a lot of leeway for folks who could pay for private insurance for their children if they made it a priority. But why should they, if you and I are going to pay for it for them. Yes, I believe there are some people out there who would like to better themselves but will not so they can keep health care for their children. I can also tell you that there are as many out there who could provide health care for their children but will not because they think it is too high and they choose to spend the money elsewhere. Ugly, but true. So why didn't Congress send the bill to Bush that did not have that loophole provision in it? There is a really good question.
I am sorry if my being pro life is offensive to you...

(it's about darned time we had a voice in washington), Bible-thumpin' (which builds character and compassion, not bad things, and may I remind you, Obama professes to be a Christian and talks about his faith as well..why the double standard may I ask), gun moll (oh please...although the idea that she could pick up a gun and defend herself if she had to is not a minus either) for VP. I actually was doing worse under Clinton than I have done under either of the Bush terms. Your party has had control of Congress for a year and have sat on their hands and done NOTHING to help this economy. Bush had to push through the economic stimulus package, and frankly, that check was welcome. At least it was SOMETHING.
Your congress is who makes policy. It is THEY who should be working on the economy. BUt they have not done diddly. Not my fault...I didn't vote for the Democrats (majority). Those are your guys and girls.
