periosteal callus formation or periosteal callous formation?
Subject: periosteal callus formation or periosteal callous formation?

Could you all please tell me what the proper spelling of the above term is? I was under the impression it should be periosteal callus formation, but I got my report back with the correction that it should be periosteal callous formation?

I thought callus was hardened bone or skin and callous was when someone was being insensitive?

Thanks!
