Yes, that would be helpful. Here is most of the paragraph:
A small bowel series was performed alternating AP and PA studies at 15-minute intervals for 2 hours. The small bowel {s/l murals or better} and appears normal throughout. There is no unsual dilatation, segmentation, or mass lesion.

HISTORY:  Abdominal pain.


FINDINGS:  (Gassy) (sounds like istiltation) is noted of the small bowel.  Degenerative changes noted within the (sounds like rockel) lumbar spine and (sounds like isolate destruction) is noted of the left tip.

I have been having trouble with hyphens lately. I usually have typed small-bowel disease. Now I get small bowel Crohn's disease and think that there should be no hyphen because it precedes an adjative and not a noun. Is this correct? Thanks all.

Well he had a laparotomy with adhesiolysis, and enterotomy with small-bowel decompression...

I'm stumped and probably should really know this, but can anyone tell me why small to moderate amount is not hyphenated? Why it does not meet the criteria for a compound modifier?

The doctor is discussing the results of a CAT scan and states what sounds like there was thickening of the "hosteral" ascending and transverse colon.  I am assuming she is actually saying postural? but I just thought I would see if anyone knows of a word that sounds like hosteral or has some feedback/thoughts on this one.
