Ortho doc always dictating this word in physical examination... No evidence of erythema, warmth, effusion or fluctuance.

Is it fluctuans or fluctuance??? Any ideas?  Been typing fluctuans for years now but not sure if it is correct.  Never heard anything back from the doc saying it was incorrect.
