    Doc says "ANESTHESIA: Local MAC..." I'm having trouble finding the correct way to type this. I've seen it as Local/MAC as well. ??

    Patient will have toe surgery under IV sedation, local  "MACK".  Is this slang for something?  Dictator's voice does trail off after saying "local", but sure sounds like "MACK".  Thanks for any help.

    This is listed as part of the surgery.  1.  Stress x-ray anesthesia.  2.  Repair of anterior talofibular ligament.  Never heard of this or may be I am not even hearing this correctly, which is usually the case. LOL

     Does this make sense?  can it be via fiber? This is for lacement of tracheostomy.

    Local and MAC (monitored anesthesia care) are 2 types of anesthesia, so probably "Local/MAC" would be best. However, I don't think I have ever been dinged on QA for typing "Local MAC" with a space.
