In Reply to: sinus tachycardia with prolonged PR, what does PR stand for? - thank you

Subject: PR interval is the segment on an EKG that begins with the P wave until the beginning of the QRS SM

QRS complex.  So if you have a shortened PR interval, then a diagnosis for Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome could be made.

Subject: EKG: ADP NP (or) and P are interval normal axis.

I hate abbreviations.

The only thing that shows up in my cardiology book is adenosine diphosphage, and that doesn't tell me what the next NP or and P would mean. I wish they'd just say what they mean instead of abbreviating, because if I can't figure them out I'm blanking them.
