Subject: ratio

It would mean lecithin/sphingomyelin (L/S) ratio.

From Baby/Partner, Inc.: The lecithin/sphingomyelin (l/s) ratio and phosphatidyl glycerol (pg) tests are two ways of measuring the maturity of your baby's lungs. Used in combination, they give the doctor a unique ability to determine whether a baby will be able to breathe after delivery, or whether it will need the aid of a respirator.

trough is usually indicating the amount of a treating medication in the bloodstream and it's measured in mg/L...don't know if that applies here....whereas a cryptococcal titer is measured in a ratio and they look for 1:512 or 1:1024...
