sounds more like band endoscope, there is a narrow-band illumination endoscope...sm

that is used to see the contrasts of the mouth and throat more clearly.  Especially as this procedure started with a microlaryngoscope, which is used either in patients with narrow airways or to get a more clear picture, I would be more apt to say the doc said band endoscope.

It does sound like partnal, but I was thinking maybe she stumbled a bit there.

From what I can remember working in the lab (which was a while ago), normally guaiac and heme stools are pretty much done the same way (usually smeared onto 3 cards), both looking for blood in the stool for anemia, colon cancer, etc. I would say doc is repeating herself only because one system is gastrointestinal and the other is rectal, and just keep typing what she says.

I am thinking that the doc has crossed 2 different meds, but just in case...

Is there a drug called Metformin hydrochlorizitide or his he just saying it wrong. I know that Metformin hydrochloride is a med for type 2 diabetes which this patient has. She is also being seen for pericardial effusion.

and medical language is a specific language all unto itself. Check MEDICAL references, legitimate ones, Dorland's dictionary has been the foremost in the industry, please do not cause a fellow MT to make an error that could cause her problems with her doctor/company. But I am all for helping!
