She also does not have a diffuse athero throughout her vessels, although the images we have are not on our own system, and since are scanned in, are not of the highest quality.

I am positive he is saying sugarcane, but I cannot find any documentation anywhere to support this.  I have never heard this used as an anesthetic before.  Am I hearing this correctly?
