as they often say interval  (procedure) prior to another procedure etc. Does that make sense??  Sorry. Trying to help. May be it though.

Subject: concerning partial glossectomy

The phrase he uses is enteral partial glossectomy.  Am I hearing the enteral word correctly?  I cannot verify this and it really does not sound right because enteral would be referring more to the intestine.  I'm thinking it is another word and I'm just not catching it tonight.

Honestly - the last 10 days have been simply cram-packed with all kinds of things and I am run down and just about brain dead tonight!  I'm sure you all can relate but if someone could help with this word, I'd appreciate it!!  Thanks to all!

He is status post right ___enteral or interval?__ partial glossectomy and right selective neck dissection of levels I through IV because 3 of 30 nodes which were positive.  Neither of these words sound right or appropriate but that is the closest I can come to it.  Any suggestions??

I hate abbreviations.

The only thing that shows up in my cardiology book is adenosine diphosphage, and that doesn't tell me what the next NP or and P would mean. I wish they'd just say what they mean instead of abbreviating, because if I can't figure them out I'm blanking them.

Procedure:  Patient was brought to the operating room where general anesthesia was administered.  Examination under anesthesia revealed a uterus of approximately 8 to 10 week size.  No adnexal masses were appreciated.  Patient was prepped and draped in the usual manner for vaginal surgery.  A weighted retractor was placed in the posterior aspect of the vagina.  Anterior lip of cervix grasped with tenaculum.  The cervix was then progressively dilated with Pratt dilators, and a #8 curved suction curette easily introduced into the uterine cavity.  Products of conception were then evacuated.  The uterine cavity was then sharply curetted and additional tissues sent to pathology.  The tenaculum and retractor were then removed, and procedure was thus completed.  Estimated blood loss was minimal.  Patient tolerated the procedure well and taken to recovery room in stable condition.
