s/l "a peridium was incised from the 1 o'clock to 4 o'clock meridian."  Peridium is the word I am looking for.  Thx, Ophthalmology is not my specialty!

Assessment: Canaliculitis with fistulization to the skin.

... I will then perform a canalicular marsupialization to drain abscess adn extirpate the fistula as well as remove any "dacrylis" ... which should completely resolve all her problems.

Patient presents with history of lesion of the right lower lid which was biopsied and had come back positive for *canda*.

Patient has drooping of upper lids. Under PE, Face/Lid/Adnexal Examination: Bilateral lower lid medial, nasal and central herniated orbital fat pads with 1+ *rididosis* of the lower lids.

Never came across this and have no idea what this could be! TIA!

Working on a new doc and need help with a word.  OP note with these procedures:

1.      Repair of right inferior canalicular laceration with silicone intubation.

2.      Full-thickness lid margin laceration repair, right lower lid.

s/l pass former or plas formula ? .. At the end of the procedure, _______ was instilled and tp was instructed to use a Fox shield at night. 

Under PE, Face/Lid/Adnexal Examination:  Orbicularis hypertrophy and nasal s/l pleating and bulging.

Help!  I can't find a phrase and am hoping that some of you can help me out. 

Dictated:  "Conjunctival ptosis repair, both eyes, conjunctival _____ 8 mm right eye and 9.5 mm left eye."

S/L ameliorectomy?  Anyone know this term?

Here is the sentence I'm struggling with:

"On Humphrey visual field 30-2 testing on the right, the patient has a foveal sensitivity of 35 __ and a mean deviation of -2.6 __. "  

I can't tell if the doctor is saying "DD" as in disk diameter, or "dB" as in decibels.  I found both in Stedman's Ophthalmology Words.  Using Google, dB seemed to pertain to light intensity measurement, but it sounded more like this had to do with the measuring instrument than the eye itself. 

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.... I HATE abbreviations!

I'm typing an ophthalmology examination, and am drawing a blank.  Here's the sentence:

"no evidence of an afferent pupillary defect.   At distance she is "________", and at near she has 2-3 of an "_____".  She has no associated pattern."

(1st word sounds like "a flicky").

(2nd word sounds like "Evid E".)        

Any ideas?

Lens implant.  At the end of the procedure the MD place s/l Zylaxin eye drops?  This really does not quite sound like Xalatan. 

______ forceps was used to delaminate and peel the membranes off the epiretinal surface.

Through one of the inferior holes, the _______ forceps was placed in the subretinal space and subretinal bands were peeled.

Arg!  Doing ophthalmology without a clue (do not have Stedman's or other reference material).  Any really good sites for ophthalmology terms, etc., would be greatly appreciated.  So far google has not been much help in finding rules for typing refraction values, corrective lens Rx, etc.

significant for iris heterochromia located s/l supernasally ? supranasally ? superonasally in the left eye and ? s/l inferotemporally in the right eye.
