I have always worked for salary and now am doing contract work from home. How much should I expect to be able to charge per line for transcription services? I'm in the New York City area. What's an average charge per line the hospitals are paying transcription services to do their work?  Any ideas?

Doc dictates:
Past medical history on the line is significant only as noted.

Would you type it as follows? And would you leave in the "is" or take it out?

If you use the Subscript/Superscript often, MSWord also has pre-programmed macro buttons. Just right click over the macro icons, choose 'Customize', then click the 'Commands' tab. On the Command tab, choose 'Format' in the 'Categories' window. In the 'Commands' window, scroll down til you find the Subscript or Superscript commands. Right click, hold and drag the command button to your menu. Repeat this step for any frequently used commands.
