Don't know first S/L. What comes before that?

Second S/L may read: . . . centrally with facet Osteo??
(osteoporosis or osteophytes, maybe?).

Third s/l may be significant canal stenosis, maybe even central canal stenosis. (Wish I could listen.)

Also "cannot" is one word always!

Please relisten and see if the sentence is a little clearer, and then I'll be back.

Subject: chip-in-the-tip camera

What is the proper way to transcribe "chip in the tip camera?"  The google search has it many different ways with hyphenation etc.  My company has started becoming rather particular.  I have transcribed it as "chip-in-the-tip camera."  Since google had it several different ways and since it is a new technology, I was wondering.  Thanks for any help. I love this site.  It is very helpful, especially with new technology etc.

I found the same thing.  Either is correct.  That seems to be all the other poster was saying. I do not see the big deal.

tooth shaped from injury or what have you.  And like I said 9 times out of 10, odontoid refers to the "toothlike odontoid process in the second cervical vertebra."  That's pretty specific, dontcha think?  I've never heard a doctor refer to an "odontoid" in any other part of the body.

Can somebody help me figure out the difference between these two??  The report I am doing is for an injury to the hand where the skin was torn away.... Which one??  Anybody have a trick to get these two straight??

Subject: still need help with evulsion/avulsion

I know the actual definitions... But there is such a subtle difference between forcibly extracting and ripping away that I can't seem to get it through my head. In this last report the man had his skin on his hand removed in an accident.... I went with a skin avulsion.... But I keep second-guessing.

I do have CTS but ortho MDs say not to operate for another 10 years (til I'm way up there in age).  I find I have thumb pain (for decades) from hitting the space bar too hard with my thumb.  I had cortisone shots into the thumb for years (one shot lasted 10 years in one thumb and the other shots didn't work at all in the other thumb).

Hope you feel better!
