I know it as all iris scissors have a proper name (named after someone) before them.....so iris would be lower case.  *S*  Hope that helps......

There's a plastic sheath that they use initially to place the sling and then they place scissors or a clamp between the urethra and the sling for support. I would think they would need to remove them, although some of them don't (insert embarrassed face here). I did some surgical reports, my first year working, for a hospital and they did lots of transobturator and tension-free tape procedures. It seems like they always "removed" the scissors. Never heard of an incisor in this procedure. :-)

Doc is doing carotid endarterectomy. Statement is below. Cannot hear kind of scissors, the most I can get out of it is Fox, but it is very, very low. I know there are Fox scissors, but I don't know if they are used for an arteriotomy. Any help is appreciated.


The internal, external and common carotid arteries were then clamped. An arteriotomy was done in the common carotid artery and carried upwards towards the internal carotid artery with _____ scissors.
