If the urine is described as having large blood, is that visible blood in the urine or blood present on a microscopic level?

Subject: urinalysis does not have s/l amocidrin

Doctor is reading lab results for a patient with unexplained eosinophilia and iron deficiency anemia.  "Urinalysis does not have [amocidrin/amocytherin/emocidrin?]"  I've gotten so used to this doc I haven't been stumped in awhile, but I can't get this one.  Probably because I'm so tired!  Thanks for any ideas.

Dictated:  UA shows some ketones, large occult blood, many white cells, some moderate red cells, and *10 to 50* bacteria.

Should that be 10:50 bacteria or 10-50?

Thanks!

UA includes nitrites but not nitrates?  That is my understanding, but I have had multiple dictators say "nitrate" when giving values for UA.  Help, please...TIA.

Urinalysis--patient had "squames"???
Subject: Urinalysis--patient had "squames"???

I looked this up and found a definition for "squame" meaning a flake or scale of skin.  Can this be in a urinalysis? Or would it more likely be "squamous" cells as in squamous epithelial cells? This doctor is driving me nuts tonight and he's not even ESL.  Give me an Antonio Banderas sound-alike any time....

Subject: urinalysis high bilirubin Ictotest?

It sounds like "EYE-co-test" the way it's pronounced by my Latin dictator, but I found Ictotest in Saunders pharm Word Book, but did n't find it at Drugs.com which is usually pretty reliable.  Has anyone heard of this?
