The MT is anonymous, and you report the name of company with whom you have had problems with misinterpration of IRS IC vs. employee rules.  A few months something similar happened to a company (FedEx, I believe).  Basically, a group employees (home delivery drivers) brought a class action suit because FedEx was considering them ICs yet making them work a schedule, etc, to avoid payroll taxes etc.  It cost FedEx millions and millions in back taxes to the IRS and to the appropriate state(s).  The circumstances are different, but the point is the same - the IRS takes it very seriously when employers hire ICs but treat them like employees!!
