Shapin Transcription
I just wanted to say that this is one of the best companies I have worked for.  I am an Editor and the people are great, pay is on time, and there is never any negative feedback.  Everyone makes mistakes, but they are really polite and nice about it because they understand.  You are not just another MT/Editor to them.  Communication is always open for questions, concerns etc.  The supervisors are great.  I don't understand all the negativity towards this company.
Has anyone ever heard of Shapin Med. Transcription

Here is the good, the bad and the ugly. sm
I left KS a few months ago after having a near nervous breakdown. I had too much going on in my life and thought that it would be better to go work in a hospital.

The Good: They are growing, have very stable accounts and keep all their customers. Pay is on time and there is direct deposit. The rules have become clear in what is expected of you. They are very personal.

The Bad: The insurance is terrible and expensive but I heard they are getting BC/BS in the fall for sure. The pay used to be late here and there for a few days. It is fixed now and has been for a very long time. The growth caused some changes that did not work and more changes were made to correct the problems caused, which seemed like chaos from the outside looking in.

The Ugly: They went through some terrible growing pains a few years ago and have been dodging bullets from former employees. There were late checks and no direct deposit. There was not a lot of work because they overhired.

The diagnosis: Once they got over the hump several months ago, things evened out and have been for a while. I want to go back but I'm afraid they won't take me.

How do I know all this? My best friend still works there and is very, very happy. I made a mistake leaving but now my life is on an even keel. I made a lot of money there.
DRC good, bad, ugly?
Any info i.e. are they good to work for or anything would be appreciated.
99% good, No Bad, No Ugly ... sm
Except for a short period of time when work ran low on one account only my experience has been 99% good. No place is perfect, but I have absolutely no complaints. The people treat me like a human being, I love the platform, the sound quality is great, they pay the long distance bill, the benefits are superior. Best move I ever made.

the good, bad, and ugly

I was wondering if anybody out there would be willing to give the good and bad about what company they work at, or used to work at.  I'm trying to figure out who it would be worthwhile to send resumes to and who I should just stay away from.  I'm interested in the management, scheduling, line requirements, pay rate, benefits, and provided equipment.  I'd greatly appreciate any info you have.  Thanks!

MTS of Texas..the good, the bad, and the ugly..sm
Good:  Pay on time, but the amount is almost always incorrect.  Bad & Ugly:  Pay by the minute.  Owners will tell you it equals out to be the same as being paid by the line.  NOT.  They use Meditech - a very antiquated version of it.  QA dept. is laughable (i.e., close enough, just leave it out).  Little to no IT support.  Owner recently sold the company to her son.

Looking for the good, bad, and ugly for the editing side of Diskriter

I checked archives, but all i found was old and I know companies change often, and it was all the transcription side of things, so thought I would see if anyone had info on how it is to be an editor.  I have the info they pay hourly...how much per hour?

Webinar -Evolving Medical Transcription: Technology's impact on traditional transcription process

Hey everyone, check out this link. This is what we are up against. Be sure and note how 3M or whoever is the sponsor of this webinar throws in that dictation and transcription is time-consuming.  Nevermind that EMR and VR take more time and money to be successful and it only takes 38 seconds to dictate a returning patient and 2 minutes to dictate a new patient versus 500 clicks on a point and click EMR or the mess VR makes and having to have an Editor come in and clean up the mess. Propaganda that we should know about.

In researching for jobs, I noticed this company and was wondering if anybody knew anything about it - comments please.....
USA Medical Transcription
Anyone know of this company and what they are like?
$60,000.00/Y for medical transcription?!
... so sorry to hear about your dissolutionment about MT pay. If your school told you that you would be making $60,000 a year, that is so deceiving. How long ago were you told this wrong information? It's heartbreaking when I hear so many people tell me their school lures them in on this statement. It actually burns me up. Now, I even hear a school advertising on the WAV FM radio advertising hotel sites where presentations will be given on this lucrative career. The ad says that there is a very great need for medical transcriptionists and you can work at home for hospitals and doctors and make as much as you want. SO DECEIVING. I have a good notion to show up at one of these seminars and stand up in the middle of the talk and tell it like it is!

At one time, YES, you could make $60,000.00 a year. Since technology and the nationals have taken most big chunky accounts, if you were to make that kind of money, you would need to be chained to the computer. SO SAD. Don't get me wrong, it can be done with a national. Only a very savvy Transcriptionist who has the right conditions i.e., steady account, knows drs well, expanders, works more than 8 hours can do it but it is getting increasingly difficult to attain that yearly income with pay going down.
Anybody know anything about USA Medical Transcription? Would appreciate anything. nm
