I have heard similar about L. Boone. She screwed over a friend of mine pretty badly, and that friend has friends who were done wrong by Boone as well. I don't know the details (if it was for nonpayment, or what); all I know is my friend curses when she says the name.

TRX/Lori Boone infamous for not paying. She was a Transcriptionist in the department at OHSU and started a service TRAINING PEOPLE ON THE JOB (i.e. hiring inexperienced people and paying nothing/ endangering client product) and she shorted a lot of people, including the well-seasoned MTs, on pay. Some are still waiting to get paid. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
ADVANCED Transcription in Portland are awful too/do the same.
There are several good companies in Portland though, any of those not mentioned. =)
