In Reply to: I have to agree -- great post. Plus, when you take the job, sm - LTMT

I was smug enough to think that everything will Be Just Fine, something will come along, I want to spend my money and have fun now (which I did).  Today at age 56, I have nothing, not even a home (which I never wanted).   I'll never have enough to live on for the rest of my life if I live too long, so I'll be dependent on family . NOT something I'd ever be okay with, but I know they're there for me when/if I need help.  Otherwise, I'll be homeless. yeah. you yununs really ought to put away $5 or $10 a month, whether or not you think you can afford it.  It reeeeeeeeally will make a difference.  I'll never be able to retire, my arms are gone doing this work, and it's not a good feeling.  I'll take the 401K in a heartbeat!
