Help with company's and line requirements??
Any good companies out there with employee status and benefits who do not require a tremendous daily/weekly line count requirement? Thanks for any input!
I believe you CAN list company name sm
check with moderators (see left side of screen list) At least give initial and state. There was a post Saturday I think somebody said they could post a company name and they did.

Gad this is protection for the rest of us. They really do become obsessive-compulsive, downright become sick stuff like they have to find SOMETHING in order to justify their job, find no problems, then why have them right sort of thing. Ya just can't win and work at peace, never want to go there for sure.
which company is this? why not list the name so
nm
Have you been to their websites? Here's one of them.
For the less famous companies, sometimes the best I can do is to study their websites and then e-mail a resume to see who wants to talk. Then I ask my questions.

hmmm...one more company off my list!

All a company can do is put you on a do not rehire list.
If you put them on your resume as a reference they can by law only answer the dates you were employed. Nothing else. If you give notice they can put you on the rehire list or not. You decide. These are the legal facts. Not to say they may do other things. But if you are a good MT and you want to work for a reputable company it should not be a problem. Re: black list passed around: There are rumors of it, but when I hired I would have paid no mind to it, rather judged for myself through interview and researching references. Good luck to you. It is a slow time of year, the only reason you may not hear back right away from potential employers.
How many Websites have you visited?
I have looked at a large number of them and not only do many not give platform info almost none give pay scales and space/header/etc info
My company doesn't even have a list of what they expect

What drives me nuts is a company that doesn't even have a list of what they expect and with 8 different QA people going over the report, it's just the luck of the draw.  I have had two  of the same operative reports by the same dictator who uses basically the same language.  Easy to type, right.  Change a word here or there and send it.  Had two different QA people.  One report was 100%, the other 89%.  One changed all the punctuation, the other didn't change a thing.  One didn't like where I set up paragraphs.  One gave errors because what I thought was um QA took as a and gave me an error for omitting “a” from the sentence when the dictator never dictates a complete sentence in the first place.  We are told to type verbatim.  So what is the difference between “Patient received bolus of” and “Patient received “a” bolus of”  Of course management sides with QA so no way to complain.  If they were consistent, there would be less people dreading QA and it would truly be a teaching tool, not a power play by QA to show us lowly MTs that they are better than we are and justify their own jobs.

I don't see ANY MT company names on this list!! Everybody PLEASE start e-mailing.

Why Google web? Compile a Stars company-specific list.
Immediately above the first post about 'Dictation 9 cents' whatever, and next to the 'Post New Message' button is a Search box. Use that one and get what you are looking at - only company specific. Why go outside the source? this is much easier.

MQ MTs: What is the SE or IC requirements?

Is the part-time SE/IC 4,000 lines in a pay?

Thanks.

SE requirements at FN

They're actually saying 14,000 per pay period, not 1400; but no, I have no idea why they're saying that.  I work for FN as an SE, and the requirement is 12,000 per pay period, and pay periods are every 2 weeks.  You're not expected to work every single day, so if you figure 2 days off a week, that means you have to do 12,000 lines over 10 days or 1200 lines a day.  If that seems like a lot to comit to until your little one starts kindergarten, then I think starting as an IC may be the best way to go.  That way you can get into a comfort zone, and once you're cruising, then you could decide if you wanted to go SE or not.

Another FN employee told me the $25 charge for having your check overnighted to you is a tax writeoff.  I don't know if that's true or not, but I never opted to do it.  Just wasn't worth it to me, and my check arrived in a very timely fashion.

Requirements
It is difficult because you either have server issues, internet issues at their end or NO WORK. It is almost impossible to get the requirements in 8 hours.
MDI-MD requirements
PT requires 3500 week/700 day. Do you have to do 700 a day, or do you just have to do 3500 per week? In other words, can you do 500 x 5 days and 1000 x 1 day? or some other combination adding up to 3500?
Requirements to be an IC
They require you to be a small business owner and have errors and omission insurance. Per other internet postings, so not verified fact.
line requirements
They have three skill levels and a different rate of pay within each level based on your quarterly reviews. Line counts required when I hired in: 3000 lines per wk part time and 6000 full time per wk.
The requirements to be met for performance are:
1. Minimum of 100 lines per hour, or regular full time 150 lines per hour. Radiology is 8 reports per hour or 12 for full time.
2. Quality Assurance Plan standard (I believe that means QC percentage).
3. Work the schedule that has been agreed upon.
BUT under the compensation plan it says you are paid by the line. Again the line versus the hours. You see how they incorporate both and make it perfectly legit. I don't get how they can get away with it.
what are the requirements to become a recuriter ?
How do you become a recruiter? Is there a requirement as to how many years of being a medical Transcriptionist to be considered for a recruiter position ? Not being disrespectful, just very curious.
What are the line requirements for TT?? nm
nm
MDI-MD line requirements
You specify the number of lines you plan to do. I think there is someone on our team who does 250 lines/day. Whatever number of lines you commit to will help determine what account you would be on, I think.
Experience requirements

I am 2 months off from transcribing for 3 years....and I was turned down from a position because I didn't have the 3 years required experience.  What am I going to learn in the next 2 months that will qualify me?  My quality reviews have been exceptional since I was a newbie.  I guess I will re-apply in 2 months.  *sigh*

My other gripe is - nearly 4 years ago when I started MT schooling and everything there were job openings for 1-2 years experience with decent pay.  Now that I am gaining experience...experience requirements are 5+ years and start you out at 6.5 cents per line and cap at 7.5-8 cents per line for acute care?????

I'm just a little worried about what I am in store for when I hit 5 years experience now as well.

Just having a rough morning and needed to vent.

MDI again. What are their line requirements?

What are the requirements of the externship?

Line requirements, cpl, etc. sm
may not be good indicators of what you will be paid at certain companies. I have worked for several companies in the past, large nationals as well as smaller MTSOs, and it has been my experience that if they have rotten platform or if their dictators are awful, it is not going to matter what your requirements are...you just won't make money.

Take a look on the job board. Most companies post what their requirements are related to lines per pay period, etc.

Unfortunately sometimes you have to kiss a lot of toads until you find your Prince Charming!
All Type Requirements
All Type states they require Windows XP.  Does anyone know if their system is compatible with Windows Vista?
Re: FT requirements at Transcend

Sorry for jumping in here, but I just wanted to note that in addition to meeting the $900 gross average per pay period once you've been with Transcend for 90-days, you must also be working at least 35 hours/week in order to be considered full-time.  FT status gets you access to our health benefits (BCBS medical, MetLife dental, and EyeMed vision), Paid Time Off program, and company-matched 401k (although this benefit is also available for part-time employees).

Line requirements
I'm supposed to set up for a phone interview next week to talk about employment and my experience so I'm not sure on the pay scale yet since they told me that they can't tell me over email, but they said line requirements is 10,000 lines every 2 weeks for full-time and 5,100 lines every 2 weeks for part-time.  I'm hoping the pay is at least decent, I know people are pitching a fit about what most everyone is paying right now, but honestly we just need some extra money coming in for my family because my husband's pretty much been laid off since Thanksgiving and I'm only makin just over $14/hr at my current transcription job which isn't enough to keep us afloat much longer!
Requirements at Keystrokes
I have read the posts on here concerning Keystrokes, which seem mostly positive.  I have applied there and am wondering if anyone can tell me how long the application process usually takes (when do I forget about it), do they have any accounts done on high-speed internet rather than C-phone, do you have to buy all your own equpiment including foot pedal, what type of insurance coverage do they offer with what company, and what hours/lines are required for full-time and part-time.  Thanks for any info.
Go to their Indian website or other Indian websites

(This is copied from their website...supposedly they pay well, BUT their lines do not include spaces...hmmm...well, still, I've heard that they pay better than most companies.  Anyhow..hope this helps.)

We require a minimum of 3 years experience in Ops and Discharges, with acute care facility/teaching institution/production environment experience essential. This is a major metropolitan market with primarily teaching institutions, and therefore there are significant numbers of ESL’s. All of our hospitals are teaching facilities, with general technical surgeries requiring the skill and ability to transcribe a variety of disciplines every single day. Operative reports comprise approximately 80% of our volume. We also hire for discharge summary/ consultation/ clinic note coverage as the need arises.

We require a minimum of 600 lines per day. We have never experienced a prolonged work shortage, so you can type to whatever limits you set for yourself over our required 600 lines/day, Monday-Friday. We have work 24/7. Weekends are not required. We do not overstaff an account, so there’s no fighting to get your committed lines. You are assigned specific accounts and you will stay with these accounts. You don't bounce from account to account on a daily or weekly basis. However, to achieve a significantly high volume, you will need to type more than one account.

We have a testing site and all applicants are tested using the same standards. You will have to achieve a significantly high score on this test to insure that you will be able to easily transcribe the work provided without a struggle daily to achieve your lines and to provide a quality report. Typos are heavily weighed, as are drug misspellings and common term misspellings. The test is taken on line, and the site includes instructions for downloading the voice and playing it through your sound card or a wave player.

While Phoenix doesn’t insist on exclusivity, we do expect all committed work to be done daily, Monday through Friday, and not used as a fill-in when work is light elsewhere. If other arrangements are requested that preclude a straight Monday through Friday work week, approval from the Corporate staff will be necessary.

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS:
A Pentium class (at least Pentium III), 400 megahertz computer with a large hard drive. We utilize a transcription program customized for MTs (we use an enhanced program superimposed on Word 97.). We utilize a word Expander as well. We license and provide all the software necessary for installation. You must supply your own version of Word 97 or Word 2000, and PCAnywhere. You must have an email account.

Line requirements at TransTech
What are the line requirements at TransTech? Is there a time clock to punch in and out? How long do they give you to get up to production? What if you can't get your line in during the 8 hour time frame? Can you log in off hours and get them in?  TIA!!

Doesn't seem to be right.  That's only 1000 lines per day. Most places are 1100 and up.

IC companies line requirements

Hi,

Stat-IQ Solutions has a 2500-3000 line per week requirement - work when you want without a committed schedule.  I worked for them a year ago before I went full time with my current employer.  They are hiring - see MTjobs.com.

Testing requirements often way to vague.
In defense of those experienced MTs who do not pass muster when testing with new companies (and we hear that a lot, that they just aren't up to snuff somehow), I have to say that sometimes the failure may not be with the MT at all. Some MTSOs behave as if the specific ways they want their tests done are the ways ALL reports are always done at every company in existence. A really experienced MT knows that there are MANY ways to transcribe a report (verbatim, modified verbatim, edit for clarity, for example). The MT can hardly be faulted if the MTSO demands absolute verbatim but the MT has always worked where editing for clarity (not being creative, but producing a superior document, IMHO)is the order of the day.

I always have to roll my eyes when asked to test as if you know every detail of the BOS!! - when really the BOS gives very broad latitude to change/edit unclear and sloppy dictation. How are we supposed to know how any particular MTSO wants its reports done, unless it SAYS SO - and they rarely do. It's often a no-win situation for the MT - tweak the report to enhance clarity, and the MTSO is sure to want strict verbatim. Go strict verbatim, and the MTSO is sure to think they don't want you, you're way too rigid and the final report is unreadable because of dictator error that you faithfully transcribed.

I always say, do the report the way you would want it done if you were the patient in question. If the MTSO hates it, you didn't want to work there and be asked to do what makes you uncomfortable, anyway. Eventually you will find an MTSO that appreciates your skill and is a good fit for your talent, so keep on testing, and don't let it get you down if they don't call back. Again, it may not be that you aren't proficient, but they are simply looking for a different style and neglected to tell you about it beforehand.
Can you share what the daily line requirements are?
and maybe the insurance rates? TIA
Part-time line requirements
I am an IC thinking of changing to a larger national part time as an employee. But as an IC, I have no idea how the line requirments work? If I am a part-time employee working 20 hours a week and I don't meet my line requirements, am I allowed to work extra hours?
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the computer requirements for NEMT are? Thanks! :)

DeVenture's Internet connectivity requirements

Dear Remarkable  MTStars,

Does anybody out there know what kind of Internet connectivity   DeVenture asks for when working at-home for them?  Is wireless okay, or must it be cable or DSL?  I show my computer ignorance by asking if wireless must always be wireless--can you have a wireless modem yet have also cable or DSL Internet connection capability?  I am befuddled  and so thank you for any help you can give.

No Shift Requirements at MDI...Just 24-hour window
Sorry, couldn't let that falsehood go by unchecked.

I've worked at MDI-MD for several months, and THERE IS NO SET SCHEDULE. You have a 24-hour window to get your lines done. You choose the days you wish to work. Not once has anyone ever contacted me to see where I am or what time I will be on. Somedays I get my lines done in a single sitting; other times, I spread it out over the allotted window.

Nope, don't know if it's changed since perhaps you ICd for them or if you've been misinformed, but there is no set shift.
Worked shift/made requirements

I would email them with just what you said, see what they come up with.  This means essentially your kept your requirement to work you shift and made your line count, but it seems then you must MEET YOUR SHIFT AND LINE REQUIREMENT --- BEFORE the actual shift ends.

Post back what was said back, this stinks as usual with what is happening to MTs

Any information on USA Medical Transcription, Inc. - min. requirements, flexibility? Thanks! NM
