OSi versus DeVenture

Hi.  There used to be a lot of negative posts on here about OSi.  What are you guys' current opinion on it?

Here's what I'm really contemplating:  contacting DeVenture, who had offered me a job at around the same time that OSi did.  Here's why:  I got put in a program that would advance me to acute care kind of transcription.  It did, but now I have to type for about 10 hospitals, thus I never can get good--or a good line count--at any ONE hospital's transcription.  So--my cents-per-line rate in theory has gone up but there's no way I can make the kind of line counts I made when I was just doing clinic transcription.

Theoretically, I have a primary account, but there is never enough work on it.  That's why I get work from 9 other difficult accounts instead.

Anyone else having this type experience?

Thanks a lot-

CC

Can anyone share what the cost of DeVenture is?
When I applied a year or two ago, it was really expensive for families. I think like $1000 a month or something outrageous. I'm just wondering if they have gotten anything better.
Like they would actually share that information.

Can you share more information
such as the platform you use, pay range, insurance costs, PTO..etc..I'm not asking for much LOL.. Sorry, I just want to get a feel for things before I apply. You can email me also.
MDI versus MedScribe versus SoftScript versus Transsolutions versus TransHealth. SM

I'm getting ready to start applying and these are the companies that I'm looking at.  So give me the low-down.  Good, bad, India?

Here are my criteria:

9 cpl or better

Does NOT send work to India

Good accounts with at least 50/50 of ESL versus American dictators

Consistent work flow - no downtime or time spent waiting for work

Upper management should be professional, positive, and encouraging.

Pay for lines WITH spaces.

Is there such a job out there or am I just dreaming?  If there are other companies other than the ones I listed that would fit the bill, please feel free to let me know. I tested with TransHealth and I felt like I tanked.  It was a hard test and I had to use the mouse to stop and start the dictation as it was online test and you couldn't download the voice files.  So that made it a lot more difficult.  One of the dictators was cutting himself off through the report and I had to leave some blanks.  I'm very frustrated with this whole process of looking and testing.  Are all the tests like that?  Or are there companies that allow you download the test files and transcribe them using your pedal and software?  Ugh!  I am just so frustrated and discouraged.

Thanks for any helpf.

Any information on DeVenture would
I am getting ready to test with them and do not want to waste my time.
Transform out of Wyoming....anyone with any information, please share...thanks!!
Is their platform easy, work great or not, what is their pay scale??  Thanks!!
This book is going to change our lives and it is very important to share information with each other

MAG Mutual--Earlier posts state 8 cpl but does anyone have any information to share??
Such as quality of work i.e. many ESLs, work load as I am tired of running out of work with my present company. I am seeking more stability than work today.. gone tomorrow scenario, every other day. You can also email me if you do not wish to post on the board.
Hey, nice to hear from you again. I would say Encompass is a very good sm

place to work.  I wasn't working there full-time, but from what I saw, they have a nice benefit package, and the staff is very helpful and professional.  The only kinda scary part is that they require 99.5% accuracy (or maybe 99, cannot remember).  Fortunately, on my first QA thing before being released from QA, I did manage to achieve that (a little more actually), so I was relieved.  I guess I just do not have enough confidence in myself.  Unfortunately, they lost the account I was hired for, but they were looking for another one.  In the meantime, though, my personal life kind of took a different turn, and I ended up moving from Kansas to Colorado, so I decided one job was enough for now.

As for eTransPlus, they are also very friendly, although much more disorganized than some companies.  I was put off for a week and a half past the date I was hired to start, then when I did start, there were tech problems, then I did 4 jobs or so and ran out of work ... that kind of thing.  Again, when I decided to move, I just decided it was not worth the extra aggravation.  Still, I would recommend either company.

There are still some good companies out there, although I hesitate to comment since my experience is not recent.  I used to work for MDI-MD, and they paid VERY well at the time because you had to supply your own LD, and that was before the days of unlimited LD.  I had 5 accounts, so managed to keep myself busy, but now I read posts about people running out of work, so I do not really know.

I have heard good things about Axolotl, and I applied, but the only opening is 3rd shift with 80% ESLs, so I decided not to do it.  Their benefits are great, though - no deductible for BC/BS!  And there is a $500 sign-on bonus too.  Oh well ...

I talked to Acusis, and if you can overlook their heavy overseas connection, they have a nice benefit package as well.  The pay is so-so.  I guess no one ever pays me what I know I am worth.

If you run into a company you are interested in, feel free to ask me.  I have been an MT for about 100 years now, so I might have worked for them!

Good luck -- hope you find something wonderful.

ASR (editing) versus MT and pay in companies

I work for the Q. and am reading today that even if they drop to 40 or 50% of MT pay for editing, it's still competitive with other companies.  I am one of those MTs that is making just around my state's minimum wage for editing the reports that the computer has spit out for the Q.  I used to make triple that.

I blame the editing software more than anything.  It stinks!  It would be much quicker to actually type the report from scratch (most times, sometimes I get lucky) than it is to edit it.

How is it with other companies?  When they pay 50% MT rate for voice recognition, do you take a huge decrease in pay overall, or does it even out?

Btw, it is also legal for companies to share credit

Can anyone share a compiled list of companies

And a second list of companies USA only? This would be a great reference tool for those of us who have made a personal choice to only work for USA firms.  I thought about compiling a list, but am afraid it would not be all-inclusive, and I know that some of you out there are very knowledgeable and have done much research.

Also on the American ones, perhaps if you know they cheat on line counts, pay, give the run around, that would help too.  I could probably help with that but again it would not be all inclusive.

Maybe we can get a few posts together and share notes.  I think that this kind of list of all of our experiences (collectively would be a great reference tool), and perhaps it could be saved here somewhere, maybe earmarked for future reference so people would not have to constantly search through archives.  Why reinvent the wheel over and over again if we could have all this info in 1 place.

I think that if we work all collectively, we can improve our working conditions, because MTSOs on that list will be held accountable at least by the amount of people who read this board and support the ideas which seem to come up often here, namely, keep it in the USA, keep wages fair, treat the remote MT/QA professionally, etc.

When gas prices went through the roof the American public cut back and you see now, gas prices are going down. This should be an example to us that if we all work together throughout the country, changes must be made by those who are cheating the MT.  By us having this information, and keeping it here, then people can have a great list to keep in their back pocket, and finally companies will be held accountable.

I will be willing to put some into the list, but I don't know it all so I need help.  Will wait for feedback first. Thanks in advance for listening to my idea.

"There are WAY better companies out there" Feel free to share!

Talking about good versus bad
I work for a company that always seems to draw the flames out when someone asks about it on this board. No problem for me. It has been a good job, pays on time, leaves you alone and if others want to flame, be my guest.
DeVenture has sure been good to me!

I've been with them since 2003 or 2004...I forget now actually.  Anywhoo, the people there are great.  It's small enough so that you are still an individual, but apparently they are growing, which is a good thing in my book because it means job security (I hope anyway!).  I get paid once a week and it is always on time and direct deposited without any hitch...can't believe some of the horror stories I read on here about people not getting paid, man, just couldn't imagine that!   Bennies are pretty good...health insurance is quite a deal for an individual full-timer, accrued PTO, nice little end-of-year bonuses, and life insurance.  As a night owl, I sure would love to see a shift differential being offered, but I think they are working on that.

Training for their SHINE system for downloading work was super easy and anytime I have to learn something new, they have great patience with me (another big bonus in my book!) and interface with something called Go To Meeting that allows me to see what they are doing on their computer, which is incredibly good for those of us who learn by seeing instead of reading text.

Oh, and check this out.  Last week I was struck down out of the blue with the flu or something...still have no idea what it was.  Anyway, I missed a night of work.  The next day my workflow manager called me at home to not only make sure I was okay, but let me know that if I wanted to take that night off as well, coverage was already getting prearranged and to just say the word!

I don't know if all transcription companies are like this or not...as honestly, this is the only one I've known (only been doing this type of work since 2002), but from what I've read on here, they are not.  Their line rates may not be the highest out there, but sometimes you gotta weigh that against the other things, and the way they seem to genuinely care about their employees, to me anyway, speaks volumes.

Good for you. I hope you share your positive feelings
towards that company on this board then. People are only stating their opinions. If they have a bad one, that's their choice. All you can do is share your opinion that's good. However, if you don't share that opinion and simply jump on to tell everyone else to stop complaining, you're really not helping things.
Deventure is not a good place to work
QED pays weekly. Not a great place to work though; neither is Deventure.
Anyone has recent experience with Med-Scribe out of FL that could share, good, bad, or indifferent??
Thanks. I want to make an informed decision if I proceed with them. As everyone, you get tired of wasting your time on companies that are not worth it so I'm doing a little research on this one. Can anyone help??
are you serious? This board is for MTs to get information about companies from personal experience.
nm
The site is very inaccurate. I looked at several companies and it's a joke. The information is
very old and not even close on some of them. I wouldn't believe what you see or base anything on what you see there.
Does anyone have any information -good or bad- on...

Health Information Partners (HIP), Transcription Inc. or Transolutions?  I was just doing some job searching and wondered if anyone has had any experience with any of these - like I said, good or bad - any information appreciated.

Adminstrative Assistants and VanBelkum. Good companies, good pay!

TrueScribe? Any information? Good or bad. Thanks

Any current information on Interpro- good or bad. Thanks

A Stat Transcription out of Florida?? Anyone with any information about them, good or bad?
I am thinking about applying and I cannot find anything on them.
YIKES!!! Thanks for the good information. I wont be applying there.
You just cannot make any money doing that, and face it, we're not in this to waste time in our day. We are trying to make a decent living which is getting harder and harder to do as it is.
ImedX. Any current information? Most of what I have heard is not good
but I would appreciate some more input.
STAY AWAY from this company! Do a search here. Lots of information, none of it good.

WHERE ARE THE GOOD COMPANIES??

All I see is negative!  Where is the positive or are they the ones that keep quiet to keep their great jobs to themselves (believe me, I'd do the same thing! ) ..... but THROW US A BONE, willya??

thanks!!

Good companies?
Would appreciate suggestions for companies who pay for both spaces and headers with a decent platform. Wondering if there is such a thing anymore.

Good companies
So, should I assume Transhealth is the only company out there that pays for spaces, headers and has a good platform???

Any good companies out there that
do hire SEs?  Also, is MQ the only company that uses DEP?
Good companies.....without...sm

Okay guys call me an idiot for not knowing that Medware has an India division!  Now, I'll risk the flaming yet again.....Can you recommend companies who offer employee status without outsourcing to India?

Good health insurance coverage at a reasonable rate for single person, nice organized people to deal with, paid on time, and the sooner they could put me to work, the better!

Please feel free to email me privately.  My address should be somewhere on this page!

Cindy

Are there any GOOD companies out there willing to

hire people that aren't exactly newbies anymore, but don't have the 3, 5, or 10 years most companies are looking for?  I have been working for about 16 months (SE) as an at home MT for a big national company, but would really like to go elsewhere, either as an SE or an IC.  Any info would be appreciated!

Good companies for IC or SE? (sm)
I am looking for a company that will let me work to my best potential - that being working on the same account(s) with the same dictators (say less than 30) so that when I spend months creating macros and finally get up to making $25+ an hour, I don't get yanked from that account just to start the process all over. I can produce up to 400 lph and send almost nothing to QA when I am allowed to get familiar with an account(s)/dictators and then stay on that account. I have been with 5 companies in the last 6 years; same thing every time. No matter how good the company, I can't and won't work this way. I am very good at what i do, I just need to find my place. Six years experience in mostly multispecialty clinic with a couple years of acute care (no ops, but all other work types), QA scores above 99% (on familiar accounts), need a flexible schedule, and when I meet my line counts for the day, I want the option of deciding whethere I continue to work for the other 3-4 hours that day. Any ideas??? TIA
Any good companies out there?
xx
anyone know of any good MT companies

I am looking for a part-time position with a great company, large or small, that does clinic work...specifically ortho and family practice.  Can you either post or send an e-mail w/the name of the company?

Thanks so much!!!!

Good companies.
Thanks!
Good companies.

Good Companies
I'm new to the board so I'm sure this has been listed before, but can anyone tell me what some good Transcription companies are?  I'm interested in an IC position where I can work when and how much I want.  I'm already an IC for a local company, but I need to supplement my income. I'm looking for a company that just has a good overall feel to it.  Any help would be appreciated.
Good companies
I absolutely agree that this is not a hobby. The other side of the coin though is services want the cost savings of ICs and then are screaming when they do not get the same level of committment as they would from an employee. A true IC should be making enough to offset the lack of benefits and of course have a professional attitude to their commitment. Instead we are getting women/men? who are willing to take less without benefits because their spouses can cover them, and then want to do it as a little hobby on the side. Bottom line, everyone gets what they pay for.
Probably because there are not that many good companies for QA
and those two are known to be good companies. That's just a wild guess but I know as fact both companies have an excellent reputation with their QA staff. TransHealth is high on the list also for having good benefits.

Good Companies
Thank you Anon. At least someone is courteous here in helping out a newcomer.
