why do all of these articles
say the average MT is 52?? I am a 27-year-old MT, having been an MT now for 7-1/2 years and I love what I do. I am so tired of hearing this line of crap for justifying work going to India. I know not too long ago we just had a survey of ages of MTs on this board and I saw a lot of MTs in my age range. Why don't these companies just be honest and say they want to make more money instead of making this fact up? It is this line of thinking that is pushing people in my age range not only out of MT, but a lot of professions and I am getting sick of it.
I have written articles. Where do you submit?
I am just getting started in following a lifelong desire to write.  Would like to submit to magazines, and journals.  Thanks!
p.s., why not e/mail the articles author,
add some good ol MT insight into this issue, and maybe she'll dig deeper and see the WHOLE picture and its affect on the MT, on the medical record, the country, etc, and write further about the issues. I did.
Please answer this. How do you explain in the articles posted BY Transcend then
the statements saying they currently offshore 19% and I believe it said the goal was to get to 35% by the end of 2009, as well as it mentioning that they plan to offshore more in the future, that it is their GOAL.  There was also a statement in the article that said something to the effect that with VR they could produce as much work with fewer MTs and so on, so clearly that helps put MTs out of a job.  The offshoring and the plan to not only continue but INCREASE their offshoring is my major concern.  I just cannot support that.  It does not at ALL sound like it's an occasional or last resort type of thing if it is their PLAN to offshore increasingly greater amounts of work.

Also, in the conference call Larry said it was 11%-12%.  The Transcend article said 19%.  Could he really be off by nearly 10% on his own company or did he deliberately minimize the percentage to be deceptive?
