Transcription Matchmaker? (sm)
I read about this company in Advance. Anyone have experience with them? The article said they help you find the best company for your level of experience and interests; the MT companies pay the fees, not the MT.
Transcription Matchmaker?
Just wondering if they helped.
Transcription Matchmaker
If my statement has no merit...why was the string deleted where people indicated that they were unprofessional. The posts did not include any names or any other violations of this site. Why did you delete this?

Another string of posts were deleted that questioned why the above-referenced posts were deleted...you deleted this as well. Why? Why didn't you answer this question in your reply?

This is your site and you can do whatever you please, but it's not fair for your to delete negative posts about certain companies and then leave other negative posts about other companies in place.

What prompted you to delete the TM posts on yesterday, yet you leave the posts on Omniscribe today? You are very inconsistent.
Transcription Matchmaker

Anyone know if Transcription Matchmaker is a legit place to go through for a job?

Transcription Matchmaker
I worked with Teri at one point, while working with a large national, and at that time she was really only looking for MTs for the company I worked for (I no longer work there).

I called her after leaving the aforementioned national company, faxed my resume, and never heard from her again. This honestly bothered me as I had worked with her for a few years and to just be ignored was frustrating and quite frankly I have yet to figure out why she didn't try to MATCHMAKE me - I've over 35 years experience as an MT/QA and years ago was a MTSO so that wasn't the problem.

I guess you will have to make your decision based on your personal experiences. Every body, at one time or other, has something good or something bad to say.

has anyone tried the transcription matchmaker on this website?  I hope posting on this board was okay.
Has anyone used Transcription Matchmaker?
If so, what did you think?

Transcription matchmaker...

Has anyone used the services of Transcription Matchmaker that has their banner advertised here? Any pros and cons to using such a service to find a transcription position? I just sent my resume and wondering how they are to work wth and/or how much help they are. They do not charge for their services and I liked that idea. So afraid of changing jobs as I have been with the same company around seven years, but do not like all the changes going on so thinking the "grass has to be better on the other side."

Thanks!

Has anyone used Transcription Matchmaker?
Do they charge you for their service? I take it this is like an employment agency?
Transcription Matchmaker
Yes, my advice is to STAY AWAY from them!  Very unprofessional and do not do the research that should be done in order to place MT's with various companies, in particular Breitner Transcription. Stay away from the too!  Both my friend and had absolutely terrible experiences with these two companies!!!!
Transcription Matchmaker
Has anyone ever used this service and if so, how did it work out for you? I'm thinking of trying it and was wondering who they worked with and how successful they are at placing MTs and editors.

TIA

Any updated information on Transcription Matchmaker?  I have sent them a resume twice, once about five months ago and again lately, but I never hear anything from them - maybe one email the first time I sent them my resume but that was after hounding them a few times.  Anything good lately?    I can only find old posts.
Transcription Matchmaker
So disappointing, isn't it?? Sounded like such a good idea and good company.....oh well. Thanks for the response.
Transcription Matchmaker
It would have been nice to have only taken one test, instead of 10, and find a job that way.  But, will go the old-fashioned route and apply one by one.........thanks for all the posts!  It's appreciated! Doesn't say much for Transcription Matchmaker however! Oh well....
Maybe look into transcription matchmaker?
They seemed legit when I talked with them. They do your interview and testing and then match you up with potential employers. Supposedly you only have to take one test. Granted, I did not end up using their services because I found out about them after I had already tested for the job I have today :) Good luck. They didn't want any money, so I think definitely worth looking into. However . . . if someone has had a bad experience with them, please do post about it, as I am only one experience and being that I did not use the service myself, it might be a good idea to hear from someone who actually used their services.
Transcription Matchmaker
I found out they hire for the same companies that post here.  What's the point?  I would be afraid they would send my resume to a place I already worked - no thanks!
Transcription Matchmaker, MDI and 2Scribe
Does anyone know anything about these companies?  I have two years of experience and am looking for a change from the current company that I am working for.  Any helpful input would be great!  Thanks!
Looking for updated experiences with Transcription Matchmaker
I've scanned the archives and seen old posts where people gave their experiences with Transcription Matchmaker.  Any current reports?  Any folks who've had a positive placement experience with them?
Transcription Matchmaker stopped working w/ Cbay
Heard same feedback from other MTs.
I have no main squeeze companies and Transcription Matchmaker isn't even a sponsor
so I cannot see how you justify that I show any kind of favoritism to that company.  You are grasping at straws to put down this site.

Is anyone finding companies they are happy with and are you finding it

Matchmaker
This like an employment agency.  They are HORRIBLE about getting back with you.  I tested and passed with flying colors.  They got back to me two months later with an offer.
Matchmaker
I signed up with them, but they never contacted me because I told them I refused to work every weekend. I think I can be choosy with 20 years experience. Don't they think MTs have a life outside their work?

Transciprtion Matchmaker. Does anyone know how
long it takes to hear from someone at TM? I sent an email and resume on Friday, and still have no response. I know its not my resume, so was just getting worried! Does it take a week or so to hear from them? Thanks for any replies!
Has anyone tried those MT matchmaker services?..sm

I have been looking around at MT companies for months now and only apply to those that I would really want to work at, including being able to do work in my specialites, days/hours I prefer to work, pay rates that are acceptable to me (when stated in the ad), etc.  So there really aren't many that I have sent to overall, but I am flabergasted how many do not return my emails or email back saying that specific position is filled, but would I consider a different position/shift, etc... like a bait and switch before you're even hired.

I have over 12 years of experience and a decent resume of work done in the past for multiple types of transcription services and also includes that I've been with one national company my whole career so far which shows my loyalty and dedication, so I don't know why I'm not appealing to these companies.

Has something changed in the industry?  Several years ago I was going to leave my national and sent out resumes and every single one of them called or emailed back with an offer within the day... now, there's nothing.  Are the services just overwhelmed with resumes or are they shying away from experienced MTs or what's going on?

So my question is... Have any of you tried those matchmaker services where they match you up with companies looking for MTs with your skills?  Do they work?  Are they legit?  Do they cost?  Just because the companies are registered with them, does that mean they are legit companies, or is this a sort of an anything-goes type of thing?

Just wondering what other's experiences have been and whether it's worth trying something like this.  I put my resume on this board years ago and got spam, spam, spam, and no responses, so won't do that again.  Any other suggestions?  TIA!!

I'd be interested in hearing anyone's experience with Trans Matchmaker, too...

I'm not finding anything on MDI-FL;
all I have read about is MDI-MD.
I'm not finding much about them (sm)
I'm not sure which link to which you are referring, but their web site is not very informative. Thank you for your help :-)
Finding the right fit.
I may be job searching soon. I am looking for employee status preferably, because I hate paying my taxes, but I don't need insurance, so IC would be ok. I have satellite internet. I have a bit over 18 months experience, but with the company I am with, a lot of work types, bad dictation, bad recordings, and ESLs has been crammed into that time. I am hoping to find a company where I can do mostly the type of work I enjoy, which tends to be shorter reports such as ER reports, special studies, sleep studies, etc. I like OP notes, but have very little experience with them. I like ortho and cardio, hate infectious disease and urology. Since this is starting to read like a personal ad, I will say that I do like long walks on the beach and would like to get into a job that would give me time to take one. I would appreciate any suggestions on companies to consider.
IC - FINDING CLIENTS
Do you have to pick up tapes and deliver the hard copies with your accounts? I used to have an account where they would dictate into my Sony system (a special system that allowed docs to dictate from their phones, pause, rewind, make changes, etc), and then I would just e-mail the completed work back at the end of the day for them to print out in the office.
finding own account
How would you go about finding your own account?  If anyone can give me any ideas,  please let me know.  Thanks
Finding own account
Thanks, what should be said in the letter?
finding own account
Well, I guess I didn't ask the right question. I have been an MT for 10 years but worked for others. I don't know what the going rate is or does it depend on the specific account? Is there a contract that I would have write up? I just need a little insight if there was anyone out there that has gone through this. Maybe an MT helping out another MT. I do plan on doing research before I make a decision on whether I want to persue this or not. Thanks
finding own account
I have been doing this job for 10 years. I guess it is a little scary to venture out on my own and just wanted some positive feedback. I am finding it hard to sit day after day typing. I used to enjoy it and thinking that may be if I got my own account it would put a light under my hind end because I have covered for different accounts in the past and enjoyed it because I was able to run here and there getting tapes and talking to people and printing the reports off. Thanks to those who have given me a positive response.
finding own account
Boy, everyone is pretty brutal in their responses. That is why I posted this message in the first place was to get some direction. I guess I will go with the my alternative and just get out of transcription altogether. But, thanks to those who did help. This is getting way out of hand.

finding own account
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I didn't think it would be such a big ordeal just to get a little push in the right direction. There is always something new to learn in whatever profession you are in. That really makes me feel a whole lot better.
What are you afraid of them finding out

Finding QA jobs
Usually the way you break into QA is with the company you are transcribing for.  You need to let them know that you are hoping to make the switch and if ever they have a position you would be interested.  In addition, a good answer to the 2 cent deals is that you can see that the company is not truly interested in QA as they should well know that QA has to be a company person who has the time and is compensated for doing a good job seeing that the quality issues are addressed and that production pay certainly does not allow you to spend the time required to do what you know is necessary to perform that position properly.  If they can't find people to do the job, the clients they have are certainly going to complain, complain again and then go elsewhere where the quality IS an issue dealt with correctly and with fairness to QA staff. We don't need to chip away at our industry that is enough disarray!
Finding another field
My heart goes out to all you Heartlanders along with all the others in all fields who  have lost jobs to cheap overseas labor.  It looks like there is soon going to be absolutely NO JOBS for Americans.  Seems all the jobs that can't be offshored are considered jobs Americans won't do or there aren't enough qualified people,  the dandy explanations for greedy corporate America hiring illegals, or what is it?  HR2 visas? to fill the jobs that can't be exported.  America is in a world of hurt and God help those trying to raise children and give them a better life than you have, which is the true American Dream.
finding jobs
I left MQ in early August and have had no problems getting new and better jobs. I just got a second part-time job with a national this week. I sent my resume on-line,and they responded within an hour. A day later, I had a phone interview and was hired on the spot. I still have another part-time job I got in early August working at home for a hospital. Once again, I heard from them immediately after applying and was hired after a 10-minute phone call.

My advice is to make sure your resume lists all the medical/surgical specialties and transcription platforms you know. Also put something in the subject line of your email to make yourself stand out. For example, Mary Jones, 10 years of experience.

I have heard from a few others but did not bother following up for various reasons, low pay, hours, etc.

good luck

finding a job at home
I have nearly 8years experience, acute care, most reports and specialties.  I applied to a company, and I have not heard from them at all. What did I say wrong?  I did say I was GOING TO buy the books...and I will as soon as I get work. I also said I would not work Sundays - that is why I have to quit my current in-office job...help!  Thanks
FINDING A JOB AT HOME
There are plenty of people hiring and with you having 8 yrs experience, you shouldn't have a problem at all. Do agree with other poster to not tell them anything they haven't asked, but then again, you don't want to waste your time talking with someone who has to have Sunday coverage.

I would say to apply to more companies and you will definitely get called to at least test. Remember that they get a lot of applications and sometimes it takes a while. I've been contacted up to 2 weeks after sending my resume.

Hang in there!!
Finding Medquest
Could you please send me info on contacting Medquest? I'm looking for radiology work, but coming up with everything but when I search the web for Medquest.
Thanks,

You can try the link below.  It is alphabetically.  What I had to do was send my resume to over 300 companies and then finally with the help of God and through prayer have found a company.  Hope this helps.

I think it's just finding the right match....
I have worked for 3 different companies and currently work for two.  On one of the companies I make at least $20 per hour, sometimes closer to $25 and on my second job I make between $30 and $45 an hour.  I actually find myself dissapointed when I'm only making $20 and my husband tells me I'm crazy, that is good money to make at home.  I don't work 8 hours a day though, neither job even has the work to keep me busy a full 8 hours.  I work probably 5 straight typing hours per day.
