Don't let her get to you so much.

Just act like everything she says and does doesn't bother you.  That seems to drive people crazy who are trying to aggravate and cause problems, which is the type of person she seems to be.  When she starts tooting her own horn to you, toot yours right back at her.  But NEVER let her get under your skin.  That's exactly what she is trying to do. 

As for the doctors, just sit back and wait, one will go off on her one day and put her in her place.  I've worked with people like this before and it will happen.  Nothing she does should embarrass you because your not making a fool of yourself, she is.
