This has happened to me many times as well. I thought it was just me messing something up. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has this happen. I haven't been able to figure out a way around it without logging out of ExText either.

- I've always used my own ShortHand when using ExText. Always compatible, and - I can carry over any abbrvns that I create. nm
- I have the first problem you mention - Amphion fan
- Make sure that you save & replace it every time - you enter a new abbreviation (NM)
