I totally agree. Good luck. nm

I understand your point. Good luck to you
I am hoping it is just because it is before the holidays... the lack of work lately is worse than usual, and I feel very blue b/c I somehow feel that I could have seen this coming. I have turned down other jobs because I keep thinking it will get better. Hoping it will and seeing no work does not a good Christmas ham make. Too late now for Christmas, tomorrow is last day of the p/p. But I sure hope a good company or 2 posts soon, so we can have another option. I know that I am not alone in feeling this way... maybe it is just the holidays, I keep telling myself, and it will get better...
I'm with you all; totally understand,
am in the same situation myself, but I know there were many times when we were backlogged that I could have worked to help out, but didn't. I can understand why they may have over-staffed, if that is what is happening. I, too, am trying to hang in and if it does not get better, then will have to accept another to supplement my income. I just believe that the FN staff is not indifferent to our needs and frustrations; they probably are frustrated for us, and I think they deserve whatever chance we can give them to get things straightened out.
I totally understand about this
I have worked on escription for several years now and it has gone from a good program to almost salad. It totally has regressed and I should know, being on the same hospital for all that time. I have gathered loads of mistakes it makes and presented to someone I thought would care but nothing came from it. The numbering can go from 2, 4, 2, 2, 2 and I am told we have to teach it. It was already taught and now back to first base, I guess. No periods, that is for sure, even when it knows the end of a sentence- because why would the next word be capitalized? Now leaves off the M.D. title at end of doctor's names, leaves off names of doctors in the middle of dictations, oh how I could go on and on.
i totally understand (sm)
i was an IC for them too, i said i'd work early morning until afternoon and would get emails from sm and a few others at 7:15 a.m. saying you were scheduled to work at 7:00, do you plan on working today i never knew i could do anything about it so i found another job seriously though, what benefit is there if i WERE to turn them in?
I totally understand
now. Thanks for clarifying. Its just so tough out there right now for everyone. :(
I totally understand how you feel.
I can relate ot what the other says also about knowing what kind of day your having based on the first few reports. For me, I realize it is mostly psychological. Honestly, if the first report is crappy, I can deal with knowing that I cannot expect perfect dictators/reports 100% of the time.  I can tell you after several of those with no end in sight it totally blows my mind and I feel worthless for the rest of the day. It's almost like instant burn out and I can't get in a good frame of mind to want to continue. The Monday-Friday jobs are few and far in between, but I'd keep looking. I'm discouraged now to the point where I did get another part-time job and when I log on, and if there is just garbage, I log right off and go to my other job, or I bounce back and forth so I get a break. It may not work for everyone but having two part-time jobs equals a FT job that I can tolerate. Needless to say, I work my second job a lot more. They can forget it if they think I'm spending my whole day doing junk..
I totally understand and went thru similar bunk not
too long ago. Especially the T company. The only bright side for you is that you haven't accepted their mispresented positions and then been burned further down the road, hoping beyond hope that things would work out. As for the big M, truly it is a mess, but literally that recruiting firm is brandie new and obviously mass confusion...no excuse, but your timing was sure off on that one!! That is actually why I stayed with the big M. I gave it my best shot out there, and tried several companies, only to run back from whence I started, NEVER to venture out into that job hunting mess again voluntarily....and then I think Wal-Mart would be more appealing. I am sorry things are the way they are - makes no sense to me either. Recruiters certainly lost my respect, too. Either most misinformed bunch of employees for so many companies, or lying thru their teeth to make new hire quota. Not interested in knowing the answer - probably never will, but a horror story for sure.
I can totally understand a drug test and criminal background check, but...sm
personally I don't feel you can always judge the caliber of an employee based on a credit report. I know plenty of people who are the salt of the earth, of high moral standing and work ethic that may have encountered a unfortunate circumstance, i.e. job loss, car accident, excessive medical bills, that may have put a blemish on their credit report. They should not be discriminated against.

However, I do see where a credit report would be necessary for a position of relevance. I just don't see the justification for an at-home IC who is using their own equipment, paying their own taxes, etc. to have to submit this information.

I'll use my own situation as an example. A few years back my husband accrued an excessive amount of medical bills and I was unemployed because my job was outsourced. We were late on a few bills and are trying to rebuild our score so that we can get a good interest rate on a home. Every time that score is pulled, it drops a few points. We have worked very hard to rebuild this score just to have it drop because a company wants to know personal/private information. We as MTs are supposed to respect the privacy of patients and have HIPAA drilled into us daily. I feel my personal information should be respected as well. A criminal background check isn't personal information, but necessary for the safety of all involved.
Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!

Things are not good there now. Think only hiring for 2nd and 3rd shiifts. Good luck. nmx

Good luck and good nerves. sm
I hope you do well.  I would rather have a root canal than drive a bus around with the rowdy kids around here, my gosh, they get in fights all the time, the bus driver has to return the bus to school.  You are probably from a better area, but they would have to pay me big, big money.  Good luck to you though.
Good for you! I have done that several times......Good luck to you. nm
x
Have had good luck with them since Feb.
I was told about a horror story that went on between them and one MT when I was brought on. Nothing even close has happend to me or another MT that I talk to from Medscript. Perhaps it was a two way horror story for the owner and the MT? I will post an email address if anyone has specific questions I can try to help.
Good luck to you
I worked for MQ for years, and if you want ANYTHING you have to continuously harass "the higher ups." Remember, it is your money, and it is owed to you, don't let up on them or you will get NOTHING! Management sucks at MQ.
Sorry, I do not. Good luck!

GOOD LUCK!
Insurance costs are just outrageous nowadays--I can hardly afford it, and the costs seem to increase with every new enrollment period.
Good luck
No problemo! Best of luck to you!
Good luck!!!! They don't even pay
let alone spaces!!! They blowing smoke up, well, you know where!!!!
Good luck.
Ditto. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Could be! Let us know how it goes and good luck!
.
Good luck to you then...

I just saw above where you had worked for DSG. That was another I had considered in the past but saw quite a bit of negative at one time. May I ask why you left DSG?

Thanks!

Good luck to you as well. sm
Bascially DSG wasn't willing to pay me what they thought I was worth, which sounds stupid, but it's true. Everything else except for the pay was perfect. I loved working there, and I recommend them. They have had some growing pains in the past, but things have leveled out quite a bit. I wish you the best.
Good Luck...let us know what happens with Lou..nm
:)
Good luck
I was offered the same deal but there was no work when I started.  Nada, nothing. I had 9 jobs for an entire week and was told I couldn't get a backup because I wasn't off of 100% QA, and couldn't come off 100% QA because there was no work!!!  When I left, they did NOT pay the training bonus as promised and I reported them to the Attorney General.
Don't know anything about them but good luck!!
:)
That's up to you. Good luck! :) nm
.
yep, me too.....good luck to you! :)

Good luck to you too!!

Your welcome and good luck.....nm

Good luck! sm
Bet it is the same company I worked for. If it is, you will never get it. Was told my check was in the mail 10 months ago, and never received it. I had my own equipment so there was nothing to return.
Good luck on this one
nm
I did not have good luck!
Jim, the hiring manager, was supposed to send me all of the new hire papers, etc. No word from him. I e-mailed him constantly and called him constantly to find out where the papers were and when I was going to start. He totally ignored me. I call that very unprofessional. That should tell you something about the company. There seems to be a big turnover because they are always constantly hiring.
Well good luck with that one. I will not
:(
KS's GOOD LUCK!!
I went into that totally blind and naive.....never again...lets face it...if your willing to put forth all your effort looking up things that the company should have referenced you with before they threw you into a contract....that tends to leave a bitter taste in your mouth!
Good luck!

Good Luck!
I, too, love working at a company that refuses to offshore their work. I am very happy there. I actually feel like I am valued as an employee. I hope all goes well for you and that you are hired by Keystrokes!
Good Luck!

Good luck
I wish you all the luck in the world with the new company, I left QT a few months ago and went to work for them but only lasted about a month, continually switching accounts, software was pathetic, just do not expect to make anywhere near what you did at QT, my line count was actually about 60% of what it was with QT and my line rate was less, went for hte benefits but did not stay
Good luck to us both then!
nm
Good luck !!!

Good Luck to you
Congratulations on getting out of the evil place. You will be happier anywhere else!
Good luck with that......!! nm

Good Luck!
Let us know.
good luck. .
I'm so happy for you . . I so want to be a real Transcriptionist again. . not sure there are any in my area though. . I think I will check it out. . .
Good luck with that one...
I had the same negative experience with DSG. Nearly all of my emails were ignored. Whenever I did get a reply, it was rude and unprofessional. Constantly ran out of work to QA and was expected to type in order to make any money.
Good luck trying to get it from them
Last year I begged and pleaded, called, emailed, etc, and never received my 1099 from my previous employer. And the years that I worked for her prior no matter how hard I tried, I didn't get them until a few days befor the April tax deadline. Needless to say, she's no longer in business.
Good luck.

Good Luck!!!
Let me know how it goes for you.  Been with MQ for 10 years and looking to move on.  Do you have ASR with Wedmedx?  Will you have at least a competitive line rate with them?  Mostly, would like all typing with little or no ASR at all.  You know why. ASR is a bummer.  I actually had to type more then 5 reports the other night and found that I had almost forgotten how to actually type.  I was so much better with my typing skills before ASR came along.  Sorry, just venting.  Again, good luck in your new job and thanks for the info.
Way to go! Good luck.

Good luck (sm)

The book is The Independent Medical Transcriptionist by Donna Avila-Weil.  There's also an ebook from some MT work at home site that has an account getting letter that she guarantees but wants $50 to download the ebook.

I've done everything in my power to bring in a couple more clinics but if they already have a transcriptionist or transcription department, most of them are unwilling to change.  I'm actually going back to school to get an accounting degree because after almost a year of being an experienced independent, I see no growth in my business and the clients I do have, I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

It's pretty hard because of nationals, outsourcing to India and the plethora of new MTs graduating from all these schools that have sprouted like dandelions.  If you do find something that works for you, I've love to hear how you did it.

The only thing I suggest is hitting the pavement with your business card and a whole lot of prayer.  Good luck.
