Webmedx fits that bill, great company, great benefits, great pay and always on time. NM

Started small; great company. Rapid growth; not so great company
First year I was there was like heaven. Then the big growth spurt when they hired managers from another company (that I had run away from before because of their bad management) and let them kind of take over. Although I have no proof it was as though I got 'bumped' by these new people when they came in and I lost a good account, good manager, etc. My paycheck went down every month lower and lower, and it became harder and harder to make my minimal lines. Having any kind of advocate was nonexistent.

It depends on you and what kind of MT you are. Seems to me there are pretty much 2 types...

Sports like basketball where you have the pros who play with finesse, and then you have street players who think it is all about physical strength, period. More and more the physical strength is winning but the art of the game gets lost more and more...

As in this country where there are almost 2 sides now, those with intellect and thoughtfulness, and those who think the only way to be strong and be a leader is to beat up everyone who does not agree with you...and force your will on others.

Suffice it to say in my opinion WMX changed its philosophy of the way it treated employees and lost its heart when it grew, and it was literally almost overnight...

If you are a mass producer who has no care of what it takes to make money, if you are a 'street fighter' then it would probably be for you because you WILL have to fight for everything. Fight for the right account, fight for lines, fight to be treated fairly, etc. If you appreciate MTing for the art of MTing or have any kind of joy for the profession, my guess is you will not make it there very long...

This is happening all throughout the what used to be called profession. Seems to happening all through everything these days. Humanity and heart are being pushed down to the bottom...
Great company, great boss, great account!!!nm
x
You are pathetic! I have a great life, loving family, work for a great company.
You might want to fix that.

You really don't have to shout (angry person), but yes you are wrong!!

That is my last word to you!

I will add that getting a great pay check every other Friday from Medware really puts a huge smile on my face.
It's a great company -- lots of work and great pay. sm
Web site is www.mditrans.net.  If you need anymore info, feel free to ask.
AXOLOTL - A GREAT COMPANY WITH GREAT INSURANCE
Axolotl has AWESOME, AFFORDABLE insurance.  Family plan medical and dental costs a little over $300.00 MONTHLY.  They also pay for family plan vision in its entirety.  STD, LTD, 401K with match and flex spending account, great PTO and HOLIDAY pay.  OH and paid downtime in the case you run out of work, which doesn't happen often!!!
Great company, great boss....

I use to work there.  The dictators on my account were really good.  They use Emdat/Inscribe.  Pay on 1st and 15th by direct deposit.

Great company. I've been recommending this company for a long time.
x
Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.
I wish you well. I wish I could have stayed myself. nm
tttt
believe that your pay stayed the same.....
Even if you 'fly' ???? through the report, you still have to READ every word, so you cannot double or triple the line count.

Can you still use Expanders doing VR? I doubt.

Are you catching every mistake if you just FLY through the report?

CRAP !

Small company GREAT COMPANY

Axolotl is a WONDERFUL company with great benefits and competitive pay.  We have maybe 100 MTs but are growing rapidly.

I doubt any MT has ever stayed
that long at Heartland to enjoy his/her vacation!
Stayed with Medware
Heard only a couple left but were replaced quickly.  Now Medware has 3 new hospitals starting next month.  I applied for a shift lead position that just opened.  Very happy at Medware.
I stayed with them for less than 3 months.

Yes they are nice and yes they pay on time (they deduct $1 a week for your direct deposit)

There was never enough work.  Their system is clumsy compared to most, the bookkeeping/record keeping is awlful.  After having been off training and on full earnings for several weeks, they put me back on training wages because of a non-medical mistake.  They even did a QA rating on me and I had almost 99% but still lowered my pay across the board.  I was in absolute shock, gave notice and moved on.  I cannot work for a company that I cannot trust.   Good luck.

I never stayed busy....
I worked on an ortho account and they kept running out of work, so I quit. They had way too many MTs in the typing pool. They do not assign the MTs doctors and you are in a pool so the work is on a first come first serve basis. Good luck! Not the job for me.
Sometimes I wonder why I even stayed in this business.. sm
I don't know how I did it back then, working at home on an electric typewriter, before computers and fabulous references, google, and the internet in general. All I had was Dorland's Medical Dictionary, samples, and pages and pages of notes for each of my 2 or 3 accounts. We could call the office if we got really stuck but that was it. I had a long hiatus between the 70s and the present. I have been back for over 7 years now and still cannot believe how easy it is now compared to then.

I also did QA for about a year a few years ago. Nope, not for me. Unbelievable the quality of the work that I very frequently saw, zero grammar and punctuation, absloute basic to this job even before medical terminology. I couldn't make my quota because I would at a glance see so many errors and spend too much time fixing them! Ai-yi-yi! It was awful. This was after all the offices closed and no one really had any communication with anyone anymore for the most part.

I am not a really high producer because I am a perfectionist. I research and try to leave as few blanks as possible, invest in good reference materials, have a thousands of Expanders for all kinds of reports, and try to keep up with the new rules for everything the best I can, not that I agree with them all. That's life I guess. I do love this job!

My hat goes off to all of you who have stayed as long as you have ...
I left Spheris a little over three years ago. It was one of the worst employment experiences that I've had in this industry. Poor benefits, low pay, terrible dictators, constant turnover in supervisors (with the last having no experience at all in MT'g). Leaving was the best decision I could have ever made, and I've never looked back.
Those who have stayed at the same hospital- sm
And just switched to VR are a different story. They are not the norm and I can see why they would be okay with it because they are accustomed to the account. The rest of us who go in cold and must spend an inordinate amount of time learning the account can't make any money and then the MTSO switches us and we have to learn it all over again. It doesn't work for us.
When I was started on VR and why I stayed on
I did not ask to be put on VR. I had been at my inhouse hospital job for 14 years when we were told going to VR. I loved the job and frankly, in my 50s and did not want to go out looking for another job. At that time had no idea about the companies out there, never had worked except inhouse at hospitals. After learning VR soon learned we would be outsourced to a company and most of the MTers there went with the new company rather than quit. I have done over 2000 lines per day straight and considered myself not only fast but an excellent transcriptionist. I did not jump on any band wagon, what choice was there at over 50? Most here talk about how they do not want to start a second profession, well I was one of those at that time. I did not work from home, had no clue could even do that so working at home was not a draw for me in doing VR, not even transcribing. To put all of us doing VR as traitors, well that is not so. I too used to go home at night learning transcription in tears with hubby telling me if it is that hard, just give it up but stuck it out. I learned on the job, at a hospital with over a year's training before put out making production and incentive. Yesterday I did mostly all VR and made over $175.00 for the day. Oh, you are probably saying you could make more which might be true but I am satisfied. I no longer work full time, double full time, triple full time because I have worked my time in the past and now time for part-time for me. I have earned it. I still work because I have said before, I draw my social security, have retirement check from the hospital where I worked 14 years and have my salary on top of that and love it. If the work goes out tomorrow completely, then it goes. I have had 2 jobs pulled out from underneath me in years past with over 10 years put in at each one and rebounded. If a person does not like VR, then GO somewhere else, get another profession. You cannot group everyone into 1 fits all because it is just not so. If my job is stamped out in a few years, well that has happened before and still around. The only thing you can count on is yourself, not a machine, not a company, just yourself. If you are suspicious, paranoid, etc., then do something else. Simple.
Ditto. I wish I had stayed with them. I had to quit because I
accepted a full-time job elsewhere. The full-time job turned out to be a bad joke. I went from three part-time IC jobs to one full-time employee job to NO job at all. It's really bitten me in the behind with bills and Christmas coming. Never again will I trust a recruiter or try to work as an employee for a national. transcriptionoutsourcing.com was the best of the bunch.
You stayed with Medware for 3 years and now you
state you didn't stay with them very long.  What is it?  I think we can all read between these lines, I know I can.
MDI Maryland I think has stayed clear so far. nm

If you stayed with her for years this treaetment, it

My god, and you stayed in this career while failing
the only one to blame as I can't imagine why you would think that summation of your career any step of the way was a success.  Per your description, sounds like nothing worked for you after a year or 2 at best. I've been in the biz the same length of time and experienced the complete opposite of your story.  I would never have endured what you have endured, as I would have had the common sense to realize that the job was not cut out for me or vice versa. You have thrown your entire life away on this industry, and yet came back again, and are on here bitter and spewing hatred at complete strangers to you.  Honestly, you need to re-evaluate - read your own life story and take some accountability, realizing that you should never ever have stayed in this industry. You have nothing to show for it, have lost everything per your own claims, so please reconsider and have the back half of your life mean something - anything, whatever is important to you.  Obviously this industry is not suited to you.  Please don't lump us all in with your experience.  I can't imagine many MTs have suffered as you have - why would we?  We would find a new line of work ASAP and move on with our lives, not sacrifice them as you have.  I can't even feel sorry for you as a reader - none of your story makes sense as to why you have persevered - its just a sad meaningless synopsis.
Worked there, wished I had stayed. sm
I left OSi thinking I could make more money somewhere else, which I did at first but not so now.  The sound quality was good. I liked the platform. QA helpful and nice.  They communicate a lot with e-mail and IM.  They will have conference calls if there is something on the the account that everyone needs to know about.
I stayed an IC....employee status is optional
x
You're happy your wages have stayed the
same, even though:

Gallon of milk, 1992: $2.78
2009: $3.75

Gallon of gas, 1992: $1.13
2009: $2.50+

Dozen eggs, 1992: $0.93
2009: $2.25

So your salary stayed the same while everything else skyrocketed... yay!

And according to the IIAP, the median salary for a 'secretary' in 1992 was around $25,000, and in 2005 was already up to around $40,000 (no stats listed for 2009 yet). So are you still feeling good about sliding backwards?
Great company!
I am very happy working for MDI. I have worked for them full time for a few years and part time before that. It is a great company to me and it's very easy for me to be able to call and talk to my TL or anyone above her if I have an problems/concerns/questions. There are lots of negative postings about them on this site, but have not had the bad experiences that they have had. My experience has been nothing but positive!!!!
Great company! (sm)
Good pay, good accounts, flexibility, best MTSO I have ever worked for in my 20 years as an MT.  Just started with them a little over a month ago, & couldn't be happier!  IC status only, though, but that's not a problem for me.  Anything else I can tell you, just let me know
They are a great company!
QA'd their work for a short while, but it was a second job and couldn't keep up working 2 jobs, so quit at JLG.  They are a small, family-like company.  The owner is an MT and has had offers to sell out to the big boys. but she loves her company and her employees and will not sell out.  If you have a chance to work for them, you will not be sorry!
GREAT company...sm

They are friendly staff as stated, pay is good, but no benefits. But the pay, plenty of available work, and understanding of the company makes up for lack of benefits.  I have had family illness over the past several months and they have been understanding.  I feel bad for not being as dependable as I was when I first started, but they have really hung in there for me, so I am hoping to return the favor and help them out as much as I can. GREAT company.  You cannot go wrong.  I was thinking about looking for another job because they have no benefits, but they are just too good to risk that.  So, never again, will I even think about that.  You will not go wrong with them.  I have been with them almost one year and they are as nice as they were from the beginning!

Great company.
I actually wanted to work for them, but I failed their online quiz.  The question lines and answer boxes were so close together, I am sure I marked the wrong boxes just because it was impossible to differentiate one question from another.  I have been an MT for 18 years.  I knew the answers to every one of those questions, except for maybe 1 or 2 I was confused on.  I don't know if it was timed or not.  If it was timed, maybe that is why I failed.  I did the test in between phone calls.  Good luck with that!
Great company

I have worked with them since the company started and they have been GREAT!!  I can give you names of LOTS of other MTs  that agree.

you will see bad listings about them on here but think about the people that it is from--fired and mad people.

AccuStat pays on time and the people are just great to work with.....I can't express that enough!!!

great company
AccuStat is a great company in my opinion.  They know your name and do not treat you like a number.  Their pay is on time.  Their managers are great and their accounts are good too.  They are simply a great company to work for.
TRS seems to be a great company
I was slated to start with them. I accepted the position and then decided not to go with them because I could not afford to live with the salary offered. I spoke with Kathy after I decided not to take the position and she seems very honest, polite, and interested in the MTs. I did not have a bad experience, I just declined the position because I could not afford to live with the salary offered.
Great company
I have been with Meridian since October. I get wonderful feedback, great QA people. Pay is every 2 weeks and very fair. I am on MedRite and I love it here.
They are a great company sm
Super flexible scheduling, very nice people to work for, and I always have work. I use EX Text, and I personally do about 7000 lines every two weeks. I do not remember what the line requirement is. I do not know if they are hiring, but I am extremely happy here.
Great company.
They are very employee friendly. I know they are going through some management changes, but show me a company that does not. The owner is an excellent person to work for and takes care of his employees as long as you do what is asked. I would recommend it highly if you are offered a position!!
Great company
I have also been there several years. No complaints.
Good QA people. Steady work.
Pay on time. Good people to work with and to work for. I have been to their office and met all the QA people. Have met the owner personally.
great company

This a great company. What is the sm
use of saying run, run without giving any other info? It's a waste of a read. I worked for TN and they are wonderful people and always paid on time. The best place I have ever worked. I left due to health reasons.
Great company
I have been with them since March, they are a very fair and honest company to work for.  I have had no problems with them.  Absolutely no complaints here
DSG great company
DSG is a great company to work for--I have been there for a couple years...I believe it must be one of the best!
Great company....

and NO I am NOT management, or recruiting, or anything like that.  I am an MT....been working for them for quite awhile.  They are an excellent fit for me.

Lots of ESLs - yes.  IC only - I think so; check with them about it though.  Direct Deposit - always correct and always on time.  Platform - it is their own and is Word based, so if you are familiar with Word you would be all set.  Managers are very kind and helpful, answer questions almost immediately.  QA - I have seen some posts on this board that were negative about their QA but I really dont have much contact with QA.  I am familiar with my accounts, I do my work, and they leave me alone and put my paycheck in my checking account every other week.  I also like that they do not beg and plead and hound us to death to get work done when it gets backed up.  Yes, they let us know; yes, they send out emails; yes, they say they STILL need help; but there are no phone calls or IMs or *guilt*.  It is just - if you can help, please do, we need you.  Also, the workflow group are great.  They seem to have a handle on their job and do it well.

But no company is perfect.....so......what would be the cons to FN?  Running low on work.  This seems to happen when they are ready to take on new accounts.  It SEEMS that they hire in anticipation of new accounts and put new hires on present accounts until the new accounts start dictating.  Work may be low at those times.  BUT THIS IS ONLY MY IDEA...I dont know if that is what actually happens.  I think the last time I was low on work was, maybe last Spring.

Also, the work seems to get slow the weekend before we turn in our invoices.  I think MTs are trying to get in their lines for the pay period.  I dont know for sure, of course, but that is MY GUESS.  So what I do is make sure I get my lines in the Friday before the weekend before invoices so that is there is little work that Saturday and Sunday, I can take time off and not sweat it.

It works for me.

What a great company DRC was?

Do you really think they care about the lowly MT who is so offended?  Doubt it.  They're laughing all the way to the bank baby!

Great company
I do all ER reports for KS, and I average anywhere between 2000 and 2500 lines a day. I have only been there for about a month, but I have never run out of work, but they gave me a second ER account in case I ever do. Each account uses a different platform. Mine uses ExText, and I love it. Other accounts require a C-phone. As far as ESLs, every account is different, but there is only one on mine, and he is not even that bad. I would have no problem recommending this company to anyone. Good luck.
Great Company

Great company.  The owner is very friendly and helpful.  Flexible scheduling.  Emdat is great!!!!!  Pay on time all the time.  Wonderful company.

great company
This is a great company to work for. Emdat is very easy and so convenient for working. Pay on time, direct deposit and boss is so nice and helpful. Work is good and plentiful most all days. good luck
Yes, MDI-MD is a great company, but
they do require you schedule some time on the weekends.
GREAT COMPANY

I work for Axolotl.  I have been employed with them for 18 months.  I don't know if they are hiring PT but they are definitely hiring FT.

They have EXCELLENT benefits, which includes health insurance, dental insurance and vision for around $300.00 month FAMILY.  They have other GREAT benefits as well.
