........The company I work for uses ExText, however, we are able to view our session statistics at any time - they pay us for headers and footers.  But, have you tried going to tools then word count and then click on the show toolbar button?  This will place a small box on the left upper side of your report and keep track of your word count per report.  If you click on the drop down arrow on that box it will give you a line count for that report too.  You might have to write down the amount for each report you type (it might take a little bit of time away from you but no too much) and then total it up at the end of your shift - but, at least you would have a little more information about your word/line count and then could compare it to what your employer says you did.  Of course, you need to find out if they use a 65 character line or not and if they pay for spaces (doing the above will show you the count with spaces and without spaces too).  I hope this helps you a little bit at least and wish you well.
