Can't you give her any names for companies? sm
You have been around and tried many - you should have some names to give yourself.

you can give the names of the 2 companies here.
nm
Can you give me the names of the companies here that were not honest?
nm
That may be but if companies can't post ads without company names,
nm
what i'm looking for are names of companies that don't enforce schedules

I'm not asking whether they exist or not, just if anybody knows of any and what their names are.  At one time I did work with somebody who said that they had worked for a company and when they didn't feel like working, they just didn't, and the company didn't care either.

The companies are driving me crazy with their similar names!

What is the difference between Transtech solutions, Trans solutions and TTS?  Pl and thx for info.  One is out of New Hampshire, TTS I think but I cannot find it when I google.

I think the point was to POST names of good companies for all MTs to see,
x
Agree with above, not to mention all the docs' names they refer to
xxx
I'm guessing the reason these companies won't put their names is afraid they will get bashed.
I'm not sure why else they wouldn't be proud enough to put their company name. Pretty sad..
Could you please provide names of companies where you are able to make required line counts
and then some? I am struggling to find a platform or company which counts lines where a person can make more than 10K or 11K lines in a 2 week payperiod. This is silly.  This MT used to make 10K lines every week. Any and every suggestion would be appreciated.  BTW: Also please if you can let us know here where you cannot meet line count.  You can use initals so you don't get in trouble. Thanks in advance.
My first reaction to that would be, "Make me
.. and if it's an offer I can accept, THEN I'll give that information.' I don't mind a background check, but not to every company I apply to, most of which would probably have no intention of hiring me anyway, or else I'd have no interest in working for them, once we started talking money.

So talk money FIRST, background checks, long typing tests, and SS numbers SECOND.
Yes, the MTSO has to "make THEIR money", but
So maybe they need to rethink charging something more than 80's wages to the hospitals, too! The hospitals raise THEIR rates all the time. They have to pay more for everything else, doctors, x-ray machinery, gastric tubing, you-name-it. So why should they think for one moment that their LEGAL MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION, the most vital part of their patients' medical data, be done at a cut-rate price?

So your post is very timely and very correct. If we reject the chump-change 'wages' they offer, and stand our ground, eventually they'll have only the choice of offshoring. But as we speak, more and more hospitals and clinics are saying 'NO' to offshoring their work. They realize the privacy and legal risks offshoring poses. If the free ride MTSOs and other US companies have been getting when it comes to offshoring American jobs comes to an end, they will realize that in the big picture, paying a little more to have the job done RIGHT in the first place, is ultimately less espensive and less risky to them in court. Last December I was part of a jury, and I can't begin to tell you how many reams of medical reports we all had to sift through as we deliberated. And you know what? Accurate, complete, and WELL-WRITTEN medical records made the difference in our case, and saved a doctor's career. If more of them had spent time in a jury-box, instead of dodging their duty to serve, they'd have a better idea of how vital and life-saving (their own lives included!) an accurate medical record can be.
"Make her an IC" - very telling phrase!
Your phrase expresses precisely the travesty I'm talking about.

What you're saying, in essence, is that they might 'make her start up her own business', because that's what being an IC really is - being in business for yourself.

If I were to knock on your door, grab you in a headlock and tell you that I was forcing you to start up a hot dog vending business, how many nanoseconds would it take you to call the police (and probably the men with a butterfly net, too!)?

This is just disgusting - on about six different levels.
Love it, Bunion! ("make your big head spin right off your little neck") ... sm
That remark just slayed me. You sound like a very interesting and accomplished individual, indeed.

You sang with Jerry Jeff Walker!!? That is very cool. I don't know his work very well but for one or two songs that I love dearly. One of them I call the little starfish song. If you know which one I mean, I'd love to know the title!
I agree with you, but do most companies look the other way?
nm
oh I agree, the BAD companies seem to be sm
The companies that put you through the ringer and waste all your time, some how end up being the crappy ones to work for, micromanaging, superior attitudes, low pay, emails all day long addressed to everyone, wasting more and more time.
It does work, you do not need to "make" it work.. it works in all word based programs.

I agree about some companies getting the accounts
quite a bit of companies gobbling each other up. Whenever there is a management change, there is also employee turnover as procedures are changed. Sometimes it is a matter of MTs not working out with one company and moving on to a better fit at another company and sometimes it is because MTs are being asked to leave because they just don't fit where they chose to go. I don't agree totally with your statement about good for MTs as while there may be jobs being offered, the industry itself is offering less to the MTs they wish to employee/retain, which also leads to dissatisfaction and increased turnover. It's an ugly cycle IMHO.
Agree that most companies don't care - sm
about your problems, they just look at the bottom line and if the work is getting done or not. I had a similar experience with a different national. Mom was ill too, I was already PT but was not meeting quota, partly due to traveling to help out my dad and to see my mom, also due to no work when I logged on. I did talk to them about my situation and despite being told they understood and were fine with it, they canned me about 2 months into my mom's illness since I was not producing enough. So much for being understanding. I was doing the best I could in the circumstances. I understand their position, but don't say that it is okay and then fire you because you are not meeting quota (after they said it was okay not to). They were not shorthanded so it was not a question of keeping up with TAT, they had too many people and we were all fighting over the scraps as it was. I was not heart-broken to leave, it was their loss and I am glad to be away from all their crazy rules. I just went on to work more for my backup job in the long run.(I always work 2 to cover my butt).
I agree. There are no perfect companies out there....
But....I feel MDI is a great company to work for. If you have to nit pick every little thing, I don't think you will ever be happy no matter where you work. And by the way, it sure doesn't take much time at all to look up docs on the roster. Question....what do you do if you don't know a drug name?? Do you look it up, use the internet or just leave a blank??? In my eyes, it's all the same. Research to produce a good product is all the same.
Agree. Sometimes I think these companies are just getting jobs done for free. (NM)

I agree on all fronts! Same experience, but 3 different companies. All

I agree. There is a reason why companies ask this question - SM
Most good companies will ask you this question so that they can place you an account that is a good match for you and one that you will enjoy. Why does this irritate you??? You should be happy that they want to make sure to match you up with a good account. Would you rather they not ask and place you on an account that you hate? I would get over it.
Have to agree. Tax time hits companies, too.

I Sooo Agree...some HR Recruiters/companies

do not realize how much a waste of time it is for them and the potential employee/IC to go on with an endless hiring process of repeating application questions, testing, etc...possibly only to find out that they do not pay enough, or some other major item that is not unacceptable to one of the parties.  I have had some time-waster interviews, and I do not like to feel I've wasted my time any more than the recruiter does.

I agree, but it is what it is.....the companies don't care about anything but TAT and lines, line
Unfortunately, it all boils down to the bottom line, money.

I believe a "thank you" is warranted in many cases, but don't hold your breath for one.

It is sad, very sad.
I agree. Big companies are killing the American dream
.
I agree - speak up. Most companies / supervisors want to hear sm
what their MTs want, to make them happy - or at least mine does!
they cant "make you work certain hours" but they can find someone that is willing to work them
If not, they dont have to hire you as IC or anything for that matter. So yes it is perfectly legal.

If she hires you as an IC and it doesn't state in your contract when she needs that particular IC coverage and she then dictates what hours you work, she cannot do that.

But she can refuse to hire you if you don't provide the coverage that she is looking for.

I agree.. Too many companies treat employees unfairly and feel they can get away with it.
Too many MTs would have just turned the other cheek, chocking it up to a bad experience and moved on, which is what I probably would have done, but the buck has to stop somewhere. Good for that MT...
Only when names are used. If you do not
use names, the posts will not be deleted.

This must have been a long time ago because with HIPAA, no one can use someone else's ID and KS is very strict about that now, if not in the past.

The leads have been changed over the past few years and especially over the past few months and weeks.

It might be worth revisiting just to see the positive changes. I am not saying that KS is the right fit for everyone, but I will say that things are MUCH better organized over the past 3 months than EVER before and the new office, with having so many people in the same place (finally) will make that the norm not the exception.
I can't name names but this is
There must be a lot of problem in QA and I heard a rumor that 3 people are about to get fired. they wanted somebody in there in place before this happens so they will have a QA staff because they have a big backlog. I wasn't sure about it because they kind of come and go so I was offered the extra line rates for now to motivate me to learn my newbie program and take the step to teach QA
Those 2 names
Probably the same 2 from the other company
seems to me I see the same names
I always see every day and communicate with regularly with the same MTs - - group looks to be over 100 now where is used to be only about 50 - - they are growing and that's why they need MORE MTs... new accounts like crazy coming on, I see the emails from the acct manager regarding new accounts starting up - - reason tells you thats why they need more MTs - I know I'm not working on any of the new accounts and see a growing list of MTs in the group emails weekly
I don't know particular names, but
that advertise they use an FTP site.  Most FTP sites have you type in Word.  Hope this helps a little.  Not a platform lover here either.
No more names, please. (sm)
I have removed several replies to this thread that were naming 2 different people associated with this company.

Let's just leave the last names off and realize that the original poster is referring to the company Allstate and the owner of it.

They also use other names now since so many
I recently saw ads with another name and it was the same exact wording TransAm uses so they're now using other names to try to lure unsuspecting MTs into their web. Basically, a good rule of thumb is any company that advertises 100 of the same ad all over the place, states you can make a ton of money with no experience and they'll show you how, and wants you to work for free or pennies, it's a scam, and probably TranScam. lol
I would like to see names also, but
also think it is a crap shoot either way. You never really know if a company is the right fit for you until you actually work for them. It all depends on what a person is looking for, what accounts they get, their supervisor, etc. For instance, there are a lot of negative posts about MQ, but I do very well there. Some companies that people rave about being good I have worked for and not been happy with, mostly due to lack of work or platform...crap shoot.
I don't want to name names...but...sm
it is a job posted on mtjobs.com.....company out of california.
I don't think so..unless she has different business names. nm

They had people's NAMES in them, a no-no.

I do not know of ML&M or any of those names but Jamie.

Ubiqus goes by many different names - and
they also offshore their work. In fact, they have lost quite a few clients in the past three months because of the quality of the work that is being returned. I work with their sales guy, as well as transcribe for them. But I DEFINITELY do not rely on them to be my bread and butter. I'd be the skinniest Transcriptionist in the world! They definitely do not pay well for pharmaceutical work

Funniest thing - the owners used to have this thing about converting everyone that worked onsite to go into scientology. I just humor them.
Is there some reason we can't come right out and name names?
Do we have to use cryptic abbreviations for these non-paying or slow-paying companies?
You can't post names
/
PS: No names needed.
No names needed, as I believe that is against board policy now, but just wanted to get a broad idea of how much per year deductable you pay if you work for a national service.
I would also ask about looking patient's names up and such.
z
Personal names. How would you like to see your own name
trashed on this forum? If not, maybe you shouldn't do it to this man, either.
You don't call names?
Be careful of your thoughts. They become words.
Be careful of your words. They become actions.
Be careful of your actions. They become habits.
Be careful of your habits. They become your character.
Be careful of your character. It becomes your legacy.
Nah, but don't wanna name names. nm

What is the LLC after company names
I see several companies on the job boards that use the initials LLC after the name. Are these companies related?
