that's right, time consuming but the only way nm

Extext is time consuming..
I know it's a pretty good program compared to most, but after working for MDI-MD, I can tell you that it takes way too much time!  I work on MDI's Bayscribe and it's so simple!  You just go to the website, type the text into the box and click submit.  Done!  It tells you how many lines right after you type it. You can immediately start on your next report.  No delays.  I feel so spoiled by the Bayscribe system, it would be really hard to change companies!
That sounds very time consuming. nm

It is not time consuming, at least on the account I was on. sm
Was there for 2 years.  The info in header is filled in by what the doctor gives, there are no lists to look up, etc.  It was a very efficient system.  You receive the files through DVI, and type in Word or WPI.  Everything was batched, most of the ADT pulled in from the DVI.  You just pulled up a Word document, pulled in each header, filled in a few placed and typed.  Not a problem.  Of course, I can't speak for every account.  The QA is very strict.  They expect you to follow the account specs very closely.  I found it to be a great place to work, although not easy.  People were wonderful to work with.  They dumped the work on me at a given time (my choice) and I had 6-8 hours to return it.  It worked out very well.
This is ridiculously time consuming ...
Then when you aren't able to make your lines in a given pay period they have the temerity to feign a lack of understanding why.

Yes, IT IS time, I think, for you to move on and find something better. I don't know how you are compensated, but if they want to pay someone HOURLY to sit there and wade through that kind of confusion, then good on them; if not, and you're paid on production, then it's not at all worth it.

Every day work annoyances are one thing, but this kind of nonsense is quite another.
Escription time consuming
Is anyone else having an issue with the amount of time we must spend on technical issues with escription/editscript? It seems that just being highly trained in MT is not good enough anymore Now we must be format technicians and spend most of our time doing that and not getting paid.
MD IT recruiting methods are time consuming sm

I took a test that took an hour.  A recruiter contacted me to interview on the phone.  Another 35 minutes.  Then I was told that I would take another specialty test.  Then after that the people at a specific MD IT location would like to talk to me.  I spent one hour and 35 minutes.  I cannot see spending more time than that without being able to ask some dang questions like what the pay is... recruiter did not know, only that it was by the audio hour!!!???  No info about scheduling.

Are we so desperate that we will give a company 2 hours of our time without knowing what is in it for the slave?

This is crap!

Does Ascend acute care require C-phone?
nm
Take into consideration that the schooling will be the most difficult and time-consuming part...
especially when you get to the clinicals...it is full-time...
Futurenet require extensive, time consuming testing? I hate those you can't use foot pedal for.

Has Ascend paying on time improved?
I see Ascend is needed radiology Transcriptionist and I just want to know if things are changed since the archives I have read.
I didn't say I didn't care, I just don't understand
why the sudden outrage over HL offshoring.
Well obviously I didn't care enough

I was stating my experience with the company, that's all.  As I stated before, I have seen others say they were told they would be called and they would not.  If I had really cared that much, I'd have called back.  No high horse about it.  I applied, they said they'd call, they didn't, and it's no loss to me.

But I think it's funny that someone who can't even spell PURSUE is criticizing me about this.

tried it also...didn't care for it
my account had a lot of ESLs and hardly any work. 9 cpl was not worth it.
I didn't care for the recruiter either and got the run around. nm

Don't care for the platform
Little things about it I don't like. No way to toggle caps. If you type something and realize afterwards it was supposed to be all caps, you have to delete and retype. Cannot copy doctors names from roster into body of report. Spell check is terrible, and you have to keep adding words to it. My account is not internet-based so sound quality is less than desirable

I use Instant Text so don't know anything about expander.
I didn't care 4 that crack, missy!

What platform do they use for acute care?
And basic range of pay scale? Thanks for the info.
Any platform info you would care to share? NM

I was an IC for them. No complaints. Good feedback. One thing I didn't care for (sm)

was that if I had been an employee instead of an IC, I would have had to conform to their mandatory ergonomic protocols and send a picture of my desk/work environment as proof of compliance.  Monthly meetings were sometimes interesting, mainly routine--not paid, or at least I never was for them.

I worked on their Vianeta platform, but many accounts were on Emdat, which I have never used and don't know if I would want to.  Pay was good (set by me and okayed by them) and on time with DD.

I was only with them a few months and quit mainly because of too much work on my other, older accounts, and I didn't think it was fair to them or InterPro (or me) to try to keep up with them all.

Company is not Ascend, but Ascend is
famous for not paying on time.
Do they still use Web-Correct? I didn't mind the platform but
nm
I did QA, didn't find their platform great. I've seen
a recent post where they pay 8 cpl.  Sound quality and dictators horrible and no way is 8 cpl enough.   They have constant tunover.
Yes, I am part-time (acute care) BUT
be careful with part-time at this company.  They actually ask their part-timers to NOT work when the work level is low so the full-timers can get their work in.  I'm sorry but I do not think that is fair, because I need my part-time money just as much as someone may need their full-time money!
some are the exception while some just don't care to take the time to research anything nor learn
i believe the not getting it is what the OP is referring to. you can teach and help only those willing to learn. some don't have the care to learn and will never look anything up, will not listen and learn from the mistakes you correct for them over and over day in and day out of the same old mistakes! those are the ones who need to find a new profession because with our profession, working from home, etc. you have to be willing to learn, take the time to look things up, and not guess at anything. it doesn't matter if they are given 200 reference books, some will never pick them up. you wouldn't believe some of the reports that come through and the errors on them just plain on not making sense and english/grammar mistakes. it is ridiculous. you may be one of the few who care and respect your quality of work, but not all do.
At that point in time they didn't have a

Platform and time off

How is the platform at Phoenix.  Is it easy to learn.  What about time off since its M-F schedule.  Is there any flexibility for part timers for a day off during the week if needed.

in other words, she didn't have time for someone who wouldn't

It would be all-consuming to get a union going from the ground up. Could you give

pay is on time, Emdat platform used to be sm
buggier than all get out according to friend who used it but don't know if it's fixed - her pay got cut about 30% when she went to Emdat because it's set up to benefit the MTSO (normals, headers, etc.). She ended up dropping it after it crashed her computer. Also use Transnet/Dictaphone platform - they take $10 out of your invoice for rental but you are responsible for fixing the footpedal, etc., if it breaks (which doesn't quite fit the rental concept nor the IC concept). They change their policies about every other month so you just have to go with the flow and whatever the QA person du jour says (lots of changes there too). If you get a great dictator you'll have it made - just do your work and ignore the occasional e-mails complaining about late TAT, AAMT standards, etc. which only seems to apply to a few MTs but gets broadcast to everyone (really ticks off some of the MTs who get their stuff done on time, etc.). Judging by what gets posted here, it's a better MTSO than most - just be sure you are happy with your account and platform.
I didn't pick MT. I was in the rt place at the rt time. " Presumptuous much?..sm
I should have known better to start a post especially on this site knowing I would receive presumptuous replies.

Your argument doesn't fly either. Do you think every doctor or nurse got in this business expecting to work every weekend? THEY ROTATE!I don't mind weekend work, just not every damn weekend. I'VE DONE IT!I could never make plans and had to watch all of my 20-21 year old friends leave for long weekends. It SUCKED!

I'm done. I refuse to defend an opinion. It can't be done.
Any information on Rapidtext, Inc? Do they pay on time, platform, etc.?

Their platform is VERY time consume - no money
m
Yeah, it seemed strange to me so I didn't do it. Also, they had a 24-hour turnaround time for the
test, not unheard of but seemed strange nonetheless.  No free work from me today.
CTS never pays on time and platform kinda sucks.
No idea about other company.
Pay always on time, platform is easy, they've always been nice to me, do have several accounts to
avoid running out of work.  I do MT and QA.
I agree. I am only part time so far, but I love it. The platform is easy, and sm

the people are great.  I feel very fortunate to have stumbled onto them.

Sheesh, that's awful. Glad I didn't waste my time testing, had a feeling....

Stay far away.
I believe that was Ascend who had that ad going. nm

Yea but Jay is really bad about this.  He's got a bad reputation.  I feel for your friend.
Ascend
Was your friend an IC or employee? If IC, wage an hour won't help.

Does anyone working for Ascend have any info on them?  Thanks a lot.
Ascend
I would appreciate information about Ascend.  Thank you.

Has Ascend management improved?
Ascend
I worked for them several years ago.  The problem I had with them was bounced and late paychecks.  Last I heard, this was still a recurring issue with them.  Unless something has changed as of recent, it is a foreign-owned company as well.
Ascend anyone?
ANY information would be great before I apply. I saw some bad posts a while back, but has this cleared up or are they still foreign-owned and bouncing checks?
Ascend
So Ascend paids on time now?
Ascend
Any new information on Ascend?  Are they still having the same problems I've seen in the archives regarding pay issues?  Thinking about applying.  TIA.
Ascend
I just accepted an offer with Ascend today!!! Do they pay or not???
