It took a couple of months
I got behind on bills and had to move on.
When I last talked to them a couple months ago, I believe it was
nm
I hired on there a couple of months ago ...
and it's been a wonderful employment experience.  They were very timely in responding to my resume and setting up an interview, and I had an immediate job offer.  My account is great and so is my manager.  Everything that I was told in the interview has proven to be true.  I plan to make this my long-time home.  I feel so blessed to have found this company.
I interviewed with them a couple of months ago ...

From what I can remember when I searched the archives they seemed to be one of the better companies.  The recruiter, Rhonda, is great, very friendly, very knowledgeable.  I decided, however, to go with a smaller company, one that focuses on clinic notes, where I have a Mon-Fri schedule and could not be happier.

Hope that this helps a little.

Worked there for 2 yrs and left a couple months ago.
Couldn't take working with unqualified people any longer. A very unprofessional company.

I started at amphion a couple of months ago
and I love it! I stay on the same account and never run out of work. They are BEGGING for overtime, which they do pay extra for. The people are so nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend trying them out. Good luck.
Just left Precyse a couple months ago and it
was still that same way.  Nothing has changed, but the work coming from India has improved.
Left a couple of months ago and the plan will not
change until end of October.  Do you want family or just employee and children? If I remember correctly - the employee plus child(ren) was running about 225+ a paycheck and family (employee + spouse and/or children) was running high 300s per paycheck.
I've been following your posts for a couple of months now
and I advised you long ago this was not a reliable service - unless I am mistaken - and I could be.  And my biggest question - are you absolutely positive you will get insurance with them?  Last time I knew they hired ICs only.  Truthfully, I would go for the unemployment and find another job with another service.
They sent an email asking for leads a couple of months ago
Did you try and weren't chosen, or for some reason not want to be a lead?
I left a couple of months for the same thing. The prior

3 months I was lucky to get in 800 lines a day.  I had a couple of days where I got maybe 4 reports.  I would sit in front of my computer for 12 hours/day, checking every 5 minutes, and still couldn't get my lines with 3 different accounts.

They hire away ahead of time for new accounts and after training they have to do something with them until the account goes live so they put them on other accounts temporarily and then there isn't enough work for the regulars.

When I first started running out of work I watched the backlog report to see where an account might have a big backlog and there were 3 or 4 who were on OT most of the time, but when I asked to be put on one of those accounts I was told no.  There were many days that it looked like half the accounts had a 0 backlog.  Then they started hiring for 3-day weeks and 4-day weeks so there was no work on weekends to try to make up your lines/hours.

I do know Webmedx bought TransHealth a couple of months ago. nm
xx
TransTech LOW and NO WORK consistently for many months now, especially within the past couple

of months when they thought they were getting a new account and hired everyone who called or submitted a resume.  There is just NO WORK for all of us anymore.  Lost account, so what did they do -- put those MT's piled on top of us on our primary account.

TT is in serious trouble, I do believe, financially.  If they are having to pay MANY MT's, but have few accounts, they won't last for long.  Who is TT's financial backer?????   Do they have one????  Who owns TT???  I once heard a real estate broker owned them.  Wonder how much rent they pay on their office in Houston???  Wonder how many $$$$ in bonuses they are giving out to mgmt-type people????

We TT MT's are seriously hurting financially and getting very stressful on our health and livelihood.  We hear absolutely nothing from mgmt about this situation, but *good things* are coming.  You remember when the Q said the same thing to their MT's a few years ago and it was only beneficial to mgmt.  It was a real crock!!!!!

I must say that my job that I used to enjoy beginning my shift every day is now the MOST stressful thing in my life, and we ALL have stressors of one kind of another, admit or not.  TT has become the biggest stress in my life, without a doubt.  A doctor friend of mine and my own personal doctors say that is what my problem is.

These MTSO's have gotten just as greedy as GMC and all those other HUGE conglomerates!

It's the weekend. Give them a couple of days. nm
s
yes, and then give is a couple days for snail-mail...after that - ask again. NM
,
So give her the couple days before the kicking begins. n/m

Not yet. I would give it 3-6 months. sm
I am not saying NOT to go back, I am just saying that in my opinion, there will be changes over the next few months that will stay in place after that. The goal for the project is November 15th mailing to all current MTs, December 1st mailing to all past MTs. The benefits are being revamped, the pay structure revamped with incentives, levels and shift differentials, policies and procedures finalized. It will be seamless for most but not all. The diffence between this roll-out and MQ's new plan is this is meant to IMPROVE not DESTROY.

I personally think that hiring will be better with the new HR manager and the new training program (on-line and conference call) but it still be worked on. Better to go back when it is all done.
I'd give it 6 months and see what happens - sm
Sometimes it takes longer than a week or two to really build your speed. After a while you can talk to your boss and find out if a raise is possible; all they can say is no. Good luck.
no you wont keep your benefits unfortunately. They give you about 3 months
If you dont get production, then they will make you part time and take your benefits away. I dont think it is fair if you are putting the full 40 hours in, but you really should be getting more than this.

Can you not understand what is being said?

Are you using a word/abbreviation expander?

After you look up words, you will expand your knowledge and will have to look up less and less if you have a good memory.

Accuracy is important, but Turn Around Time is very important too.

I wish you luck.

I give you 12 months before you become a "sour grape" too! nm
nm
i say dive right in..sm
You make enough to where you should be able to handle a few days off when you need to anyway. I see more positives. Good luck to you.
Yes production will take a dive, at least

temporarily.  You might be lucky to get docs whose ROS and PE you can create as a normal, which will help, but with these other work types there are more headings, more hard returns, the dreaded labs.

I find that the terminology is different too.  Where we don't get lots of meds in Ops, we do in the other work types and we may have to look some up, and there may be other terminology that isn't used in Ops that may be unfamiliar.

I have done pretty much all Ops for years too and an occasional DS or ER note is okay, but I despise consults.

Of yea, with other work types lots of times they are dictated by a PA or NP, so you will have dictators that are new to you.  I have had accounts where the PA/NP had their own dictating number and other accounts where they dictated under their sponsoring physician, so you see Dr. Joe Smith come up and he is a wonderful dictator, but it is his fat-headed, *od's gift to women, speedy PA dictating.

Maybe they are replacing the OP! sm
She says that they are nitpicking her work. They might need someone to take her place.

They have a lot of work; that's why they're hiring.
Is Axolotl getting new accounts or replacing MTs?
Are they hiring for new accounts?  Is it Acute Care or Clinic?  Seems like a lot of chatter recently on the board about companies running out of work between Thanksgiving and Christmas and I heard Axolotl was a small company with very few acute care accounts to begin with.  New accounts don't always go live when expected.  Just wondering how much work there will be for new hires. Since you currently work there, any other info you feel comfortable passing on would be appreciated such as ESL and QA.  Thanks.
Speech Rec replacing MT in future
I work with Speech Recognition every day and, believe me, there is no threat of it replacing me as an MT for a very, very long time. It does not have a clue as to what doctors are saying or which part of the body it is talking about. Most of my time is spent fixing what it put and I could actually type it faster. It does put together very funny sentences though and that kind of lightens up my day. LOL Not to worry.
work is decreasing because VR is replacing 10 MT's with 2 and India et al is taking 2 jobs out
x
Oh, there is something on the end of your nose.
x
You must have a really brown nose then
That woman wasn't nice to anyone unless there was something in it for her.
If I was such a brown nose,
I would not have been forced to quit. Trust me, I was NOT one of their favorites! :)
Once again the childless pay out the nose sm
and the company caters to the family MT, who wants to type between diapering and nursing and feeding hubby.  No wonder this field has gone down the tubes.
Your nose is brown.

snarf - coffee up the nose

Sorry it was like that BUT thanks for a great story to cheer up a gray monday morning!

let's see..10 fingers...10 toes...one nose..sm
and maybe even my backside..I was speaking for myself as well as the others who have thought your posts single-sighted, single minded, and rather on the sour grape side. I also did not see any name calling, though, so you were wrong about that part.
You've got brown stuff on your nose -
you know they monitor this board constantly!  You talk to them all the time about it.  Let's see how long it takes you to relay this posting.
Doesn't sound like a brown nose to me...
but rather a very grateful employee. This board is very discouraging to me. A lot of whiners who are not good medical transcriptionists and then turn it around to make the company they worked for look bad. Actually, it can be quite entertaining when I am bored.
or if you're not related you could brown nose your way
.
Hmmm-methinks your nose is brown.

Yes, she has her nose up Amit Chattergee's butt big time.
I have proof that she offshores.  I also have correspondence where she deals with Amit, owner of MTIndia.
And what about times where they say 'use my normal' for a 3-page nose
s
AHIMA is not a regulatory body. I read da-nose and think it is brilliant.
Billing practices have long been an issue in this industry, but I guess I don't see where you are coming from on the impending regulation thing. It has been a long week for me and looks to be a longer weekend so my brain cells are a bit drained, lol.
TransTech and low/no work for months and months _ don't think there are continous holidays LOL

This HORRIBLE low/no work situation has been going on at TT for almost a year now.  You can't convince me it is due to Memorial Day.  Are holidays now assigned in this world to being daily.

That is an excuse these companies use in these no work situations, but it is due to their OVERHIRING.  Holidays just come on a daily basis, but LOW WORK/NO WORK is happening and has happened going on a year now at TransTech.  Always asking to flex into the middle of the night, EVERY weekend, etc.

The TT mgmt checks are NEVER affected, tho, so they can continue to HIRE EVERY MT who gives them a call, and create a NO WORK situation for all of us.  The newbie MT's are cheering at first, but then realize that it hit them in the paycheck, too, and very soon it did!!!!!!!

My company has been low on work for months and months..sm
Tired of getting the same ol' message that things will pick up.  I remember the days of bonuses, making money and being able to pay my bills!  I am also wondering what is going with these companies not having work.  Is everybody sending work overseas?
"warned" by someone who won't give facts or sign her name. Give me a break! nm

Nationals give at least a week to learn program. Give
xx
They used to give out $25 Amex cheques -- give them time. :-) nm

I get what you are all saying about them not having to give give you work, but...
I guess I just figure that as an IC, I am basically my own business and it is my responsibility to make sure that the work is done when it should be. I just think that if the standard of the company is 24 hour TAT then that is what I am agreeing to do when they hire me. There are advantages for both of us to the IC senerio, they do not have to pay benefits, or take care of collecting and reporting the taxes, and I have to adhear to the 24 hour TAT (or what every thier standards are) but can do that during hours that are convenient to me. Of course it is better for the company if they know exactly when I am going to be sitting at my desk and typing that is why they have the option of hiring employees. Just my opinion and wanting things to be like they used to be.. I guess I have to get out of my time warp or look a little harder for a company who really knows what IC status means.
A couple

Lee Perfect I believe and TTS.  Try putting your resume up as well.  I got a ton of hits off of here and another transcription job board and another job website.  Not allowed to give you names of the sites though.

There are a couple of ways....
You can either use Alt+tab and that will switch you toggle you between programs or you can just keep a notebook and write down the acc#. I thought this was going to really hurt my production but after you get use to doing it, it doesn't really seem to be a big deal at all. Good luck!
It took me a couple of weeks...
had to get all those shortcuts in but once you get used to it, it is okay.  I always keep track of how many reports I do and I don't look at line count until I do so many.  I can get my required line count in 6 hours or less and when I first started it was a lot longer than that.  So, it does get better.
A couple questions

Do they hire part-time?   Do you need a C-phone or are they internet based?

Thanks

...couple more questions if you can...
Tested for radiology, but I can do acute care. Can you tell me about the rotating weekends? How many weekends do you actually end up working over about a 3-month period? Does the software have a built-in expander?

Thanks!
