what is going on. I just have a feeling SE might become part time employee but I hope not. That would limit the hours we could work. You still have to wonder if Spheris is in the picture and they have no IC or SE do they? Dont think so.
the only thing that gives me hope is
It sounds like the people who came from TRS who merged with Transcend were able to keep the accounts they came with and didn't move onto Transcend accounts, so I would hope that means if my account has work now (which it does) that I will still have work when the companies merge. At least I hope so.

I also thought that the original job post was just a little too vague.  I highly doubt this will even pay 7.  They only charge their clients 10 cpl, and they are also leasing the website for the company.  ????  Lots of ?????????????? for whoever takes this.

I've typed it, too. Granted every account is different, but at the time I had to type it into their (the VA hospital's) system, which was also rather, shall we say, burdensome. I would be very surprised if the VA has cut the amount that it pays, so.....

Brown & Meyers Anyone?

Does anyone have any comments/experience with Brown & Meyers - good or bad. I would love to hear about this company. I have been offered a position, but do not have much info on them. Thanks.

I have been with Brown & Meyers for almost two years and it has been a great experience. I do not have to work a specific shift, have been given a raise when I asked after a year and am never bothered with phone calls, e-mail, etc. They are very personable, helpful and willing to give me any accounts I may ask for. They use the Sten-Tel platform, which probably isn't the greatest, but it is easy and works for me. I have never had a problem with paychecks- always correct and on time. I would definitely recommend looking into working for them.

You just hit the nail on the head! Why else would she be on here? Brown nosing to show her management how she does a great job in defending the company.

If she is typing for her own accounts on top of account management duties, she must be short MTs. Hmmm, maybe some of the MTs are starting to see the light.

I use to work for CyMed/SPi as well. It is a joke that all of the brown nosers seem to still stay around; and the ones that speak their mind are let go or pushed out.

You spelled that incorrectly but yes, I have heard the same thing.  I wouldn't work for them for any amount of money.

i worked four weeks for them. tech was nice, but the training sucked. uploading/downloading was a pain. they told me i would be busy busy but i sat around waiting for work. pay was 8 cents a line. if u wanted them to edit your work, they deducted it from your pay.

but rather a very grateful employee. This board is very discouraging to me. A lot of whiners who are not good medical transcriptionists and then turn it around to make the company they worked for look bad. Actually, it can be quite entertaining when I am bored.

It is being run like a cartel. Management is blind to corrupt supervisors from what I can see.

We did this to ourselves mostly, by allowing leaders to rise up who were not on the MTs side.

I just wonder about hours at a second company.  I work days (and some nights) with this company.  I have a set schedule but with the no work situtation I've been on the computer at all hours of the day and night.  Right now I have no work, so I would love to jump on at a company #2 and start working.  Do you have to have set hours at your company #2?  Thanks for the suggestion.
Debate is one thing, and posting is one thing,
but this is getting absurd. I think it must be the same person, otherwise multiples who cannot stay on topic?? Why can't you STICK with the subject? The subject of my post was NOT what your cent per line rate was or is - I could care less- and not how much money you made last year, this year, or in your life, but how silly the comment was that your cents per line rate means NOTHING, that its up to you - some fluff like that. That is just so silly. Again, working for the same company, same account, is one going to make more money being paid more per line? OF course! This is so frustrating and really makes me so tired of reading this garbage let alone posting. Its like a nightmare. And also makes me completely believe that the original company must pay peanuts.

You don't know me either. you can say old fart all you want (when did 53 get to be old fart....too funny) but at least I am a valuable employee who can get a decent job!
Well for one thing, it would not be a professional thing
to do for any MTSO to have a board to do this as part of being an MTSO involves the ability to identify and hold on to confidential information. Even if a person is a job hopper (which in this business rather than go against you can make you a stronger better MT if you can do just about anything thrown at you), if a person is looking for a job, a company needs to have the MT's permission to contact their current employer. Where one has worked or has not worked is something that is very unprofessional being discussed on a board by MTSOs.

Being a business owner of any kind comes with it possessing what it takes to maintain ethical practices.

I certainly hope 20 hours per week requirement will not be part of the new rules.  I think a line count requirement should be sufficient.
