that I have been at the same company from day 1. I have worked for many companies over the almost 20 years I have been in this profession. My reasons for leaving each company are as varied as the companies themselves. Some went out of business, some had changes in policy that I just could not palate, and some where just plain out mistakes from the get-go.

Prior to my career as an MT, I had dealings with the HR division of a large company and yes, it does cost money to hire a person. Do you really think all that paperwork does itself? There is a person who does the paperwork, there are costs involved in shipping computers, etc. If the OP wanted to try 1 company at a time until she found a fit, I would see nothing wrong with that because along the way she may find one that truly is a fit. The way she is doing this is dishonest and manipulative and will end up costing her dearly in the MT profession.
