I talked to the insurance person yesterday (we all have her phone #). She told me sm

Posted By: KS MT on 2008-06-05
In Reply to: Does anyone inside KS (sm) - mt

that the holdup was the insurance company and the fact that all KS employees did not get their paperwork in despite phone calls and emails. They needed both the applications for those who want it and the waivers from those who don't, apparently a federal requirement to prove that they offered it to everyone eligible.

The date of effect might still be 6/1 and everything will be retroactive with cards in the mail this week. They will know today.

I am excited about. I too have been without insurance for too many years!

When I applied and tested they then told me they did not hire IC at least the person I talked to
said that.  I had applied because someone else said they did hire IC.  So I actually dont know if they do or do not hire IC.
I talked to the insurance lady too (she is very nice) and was told the same thing. sm
I called the office and talked to a high-up manager who said that they haven't said anything because they do not have anything in writing and do not want to give information and have it be wrong.

The premium for employee only is $404 per month and KS is paying $202. This is much better than I had at another company that I do not want bash as this was the only issue I had.

I love it at KS because I have plenty of work and everyone in the office is so nice. My lead changed positions in the company a few months ago and my new lead is very nice and more organized. I have been there 11 months (this time) and was there a year before that in 2005-6. I made the mistake of thinking that the grass was greener but it wasn't!
I talked to her yesterday or the day before... nm

I talked to them yesterday, and they did not have any more FT rad positions for day shift. sm
I do not want to work 2nd shift so I had to pass, but I am going to call back in a month at their request.

I know that the person I talked to said that they were going through hundreds of resumes and had narrowed them down.

Everyone I have had contact there has been very nice and responsive, so I will hang on until they have an opening. A good friend of mine has worked for them for 2 years and has been happy and suggested I go there knowing how ticked off I have been at the changes at the Big Q.
What was the name of the person you talked to? nm
x
Funny, but the lady I talked to on the phone about a job there made me decide right then for some
gut feeling that this wasnt for me. Not sure exactly what it was but sort of turned me off.
No but just talked to a recruiter who told me VR jobs pay

ok they told me yesterday and I do not....sm

I don't need to be told twice........I don't make the same error twice.

I was just told on yesterday that they no longer do hourly for QA.
This was from a male (M.L.) who responded to my email. Did you get this information from a male? I wonder why they are telling some people that they pay hourly and telling others that it is by the line only?
Last time I talked with them, nothing had changed, insurance still way too expensive. nm
.
This is the same person who told me
that there were job openings on escription and Dictaphone. I have a friend there who had been trying to get moved from dictaphone to escription. When she asked him (the next day) if she could be placed in one of the escription openings, he told her that there were absolutely no openings on escription when he had just told me the day before that there were. I had to actually forward his email to my friend to prove to her that he had just told me that they had escription positions.

Now they have been lying to people, telling them that they have hourly positions just to get them to test and then telling them that they can only have a by the line position BECAUSE THE HOURLY JOBS NEVER EXISTED!

I don't understand why they think it is necessary to lie to people because the lies will be revealed here on this site. Maybe they just think we are too stupid to figure it out.
I believe she handed the phone to the person I asked to speak to - did not put me on hold. nm

The person that told you that LIED like a rug.
If you have it in writing, I'd turn them in to the FTC or BBB for false advertising. $30,000 is pretty respectable.
Anyone told they must come in person to train....
when being hired as a home transcriber?  Silent Type wants me to come to New Jersey for a 2-day training period (I'm in Ohio).  I've being transcribing at home for 14 years.  I'm stunned at this and have declined but just curious if any of you have been told this.
I received a phone call from MDI mgt. about my questionnaire answers and told ICs must by E/O ins.
x
A tech person at Transcend told
that they couldn't believe that anyone would build a platform with code that was so archaic and out of date, with parameters that could not be fixed without rebuilding the whole thing. I've worked on much more reliable platforms. They are out there.
I know of one person who recruits for 3 different companies. She told me

"twisting The Knob" - if each of us told just 1 person in medicine about how this is done

We don't have to bad mouth.

We don't have to lie.

Just educate 1 institution - each of us - tell a clinic, tell a doctor group, tell a hospital.  Tell them about how the billing has the capability of being manipulated underhandedly.  We already know we feel like we are typing in quicksand.  How can I be only typing the same number of lines that I did 20 years ago and yet now I have word expanders, computers, dictionaries that "ride" and drug books that "ride" and I don't have to lean over the look up drugs or words - and here I am making the same line count.  It doesn't make any sense.  "Twisting The Knob."  That makes sense.

Educate, that's how we will bring back our jobs to a reputable place.

RE: "twisting The Knob" - if each of us told just 1 person in medicine about how this is done
As you describe in your post, I would venture to say, you are in a very small minority. Otherwise, why would there be any need for documentation in a medical record?
Can anyone from the Ohio MQ office give me a contact person and a phone number to call so I can talk
to someone there without getting a lot of other people involved before I find out what kind of accounts they have to offer. I am interested in transferring from my current office but would like to speak with someone up there first. Even an email address of someone would help.
I hope you are a healthy person or have insurance
s
We all had to call in to the new insurance company last week. I was told that it will be sm
around $250 per single and that KS will be picking up a large portion.
I was told the new one will be less than $200/month. My husband's insurance is horrible and $800
nm
Worked on C-phone for 10 years with 1 phone line
nn
C-phone - I purchased a c-phone from someone in Oklahoma but never got it. *sm*
First she told me her grandmother died. Then she told me she mailed it. Then she told me her daughter was having chemotherapy. Call me naive, but I thought she was sincere and cannot imagine anyone using their daughter as an excuse. If this is the same person from Oklahoma, I sure would like to know about it because now I want my money back.
I think it is one person. I had a few print outs from a few weeks ago and this person even capital
I have had a positive one. I have been with Keystrokes for 3 months and am very happy.

I printed them to show my manager but she told me that there are few bitter people out there and no one can do anything about them. My manager said that everyone can tell that it is the same few over and over again, for Keystrokes and a few other companies as well. Time to move on Ms. Anon. I cannot think why a company would go through the trouble of getting IDs and getting you installed just to ignore you after that. Doesn't make sense, does it? Are you sure that't the whole truth? You keep saying truth but it sounds fishy.
Exactly what I'm talking about RUDE! You are a very unhappy person. A happy person does not
respond in such a way!  This is the reason SS has such a bad name.
I am not a hateful person but that person screamed at me for 45 minutes. sm
She said all transcriptionists are idiots.
I don't have a second phone line ... cable modem for the internet, regular line for my C-phone.

If anyone wanst to get through to me while I'm working, they have my cell phone number.

And, as I said, some accounts are using wav files -- no doubt soon all of the accounts will convert.  Hope so ... would make it easier (less expensive) to work when traveling.  :-)

Lots of good companies out there -- hope you find one that fits :)

I don't hesitate to ask. Have been told "yes", and have been told "no." Never been to
:+
401k funds are protected by govt insurance similar to the insurance
that banks have (FDIC). It is safe even if the company goes under.
The insurance cost is double for Transcend but insurance probably doesn't factor in for her.
I have heard more good things about Axolotl than Transcend, although it seems Axolotl may be less flexible with your schedule and someone told me that QA was pretty strict, which should not matter either if you have worked for a hospital and know what your QA score is.
C-Phone = Connexions Phone

Dictaphone is a company and one of their many products is a C-Phone.

The insurance plan in my opinion is excellent insurance. I am not sure if it will change when it'
time to renew or not. I really hope not but I know that a lot of companies change every year in an effort to keep costs down because most insurance companies start raising rates after you have been with them a year. The insurance is Great West and they also have excellent dental and vision plans. I believe the cost is less than $70 a pay period for the employee.
Well I am one of the ones who has talked with them....SM

The pay they quoted me was fairly good though not all that great, but I'm really looking for a smaller company and to get away from the really big companies.  I did email with one MT who said she had been with them for 3 months and is now moving from PT to FT because she likes the money she is able to make with them.  I took that as a good sign lol.  I also looked them up in the archives and could find nothing negative.

I know what you mean about thinking with a maybe this will be the one attitude.  I've been really disappointed in my search over the last few months.

I really think what is showing through as excitement in these threads (or just this one lol) is the fact that someone finally heard back from this company.  I also think it took a while because it IS small and maybe they are extremely busy.  I think the smaller MTSOs and their managers, account leaders, etc., probably all have too much to do everywhere so maybe these particular ladies really have just not had the time to finish up their hiring.  JMO you understand.

If you are still looking, maybe you should email them and see if they still have openings.  Their ad is on the job board.  Just be prepared to possibly wait a couple of a few days for a response lol.

When i talked to them
they were very, very rude!
Only because we do so much rad. I talked to someone who sm
went to a radiology conference this week in Chicago (a radiologist friend) who told me that Keystrokes is everywhere and that whenever he talks to others in radiology, they all mention them. I hope that is good for all of us. I feel secure knowing that. He knows I work for them, so he made sure to tell me that they are very respected in the world of radiology!
I think I talked to them about 18
months ago, and that's what they were offering. Then I asked questions about how efficient things were, and it sounded rather time-consuming to me. They may have improved things by now, of course.
both I talked to
were women.  I was actually told the Nuance recruiter wasn't with the company, but her email is still listed with them.  This lady had a very thick northern city accent.
I talked to them about IC status sm
and I really liked them. You might just call and ask. It would be IC status and you need your own equipment. They download their software.
I talked to her by telephone. sm
After about a 5-minute conversation, I knew I wouldn't be going to work for her. When I asked her about pay dates, she stated that MTs do not get paid until she receives payment from the client because, well, you just never know. She also stated that if she does not feel an MTs work is where she thinks it should be, she will lower their line rate. In my opinion, this person is very unprofessional. I agree with the above post about staying very far away from this business.
When I talked with them about a position, I was going to have to use....

their software and they did send a pedal.  However, I decided to go with another company and never even plugged in the pedal that they sent.

Their software is based on MSWord, from what I understand.

HTH

What was the recruiter's name you talked to?
wondering if it is same as the one I talked to. They seemed very nice, but I got a much better offer elsewhere.
OSI - talked to their recruiter sm
and she got snippy with me for just asking a few questions, so I never went further than that with them.
I have talked to the office.
They say they are looking into finding me something.
Susan -- I talked with

recruiter today. It sounds pretty good.

Have you talked to DeVenture?
It is $20 a week for me and another $50 to put my two kids on.  The company contributes a flat rate of $280 I believe.
I got hired the same day I talked to them but (sm)
I had to wait about 2 weeks for my keyfob from the hospital.
I talked to a recruiter and she had the
most WONDERFUL position available and that I was luck because the MTs loved this account and there was rarely an opening on it - blah, blah, blah.

She mentioned the account and I had worked on that account when I worked at YOG and I knew it to be a horrendous account.

I talked to the team leader (or whatever her title was) of the account and she told me that they can't keep MTs on the account because it is so difficult and no one wants to work on it.  Then she let slip that they offshore and the best dictation goes offshore while the crap stays here.

The recruiter was constantly IM people during my interview, which I felt was unprofessional.
It has been talked about several times, but no one is

willing to do anything so nothing gets done.  Personally I have no desire to be in a union and wouldn't join if there was one.  By the time you pay union dues you wouldn't be any better off than you are now.

Have you talked to your lead? sm
My accounts are busy. They were slow for 2 weeks but picked up, asking for extra help through this week!
