I worked for MQ for a very long time. sm
I really loved working for them until the recent changes, and I agonized over my decision to leave. Now that it is done and over with, I can honestly say that I feel I made the right choice. However, now I find myself desperately searching for that job that I can settle into and be happy with, and hopefully outdo my 8 years with MQ. I definitely don't enjoy changing jobs.

I worked for them a long time ago.
Left in 2003. They were nice enough to work for. Not sure how it is now.
I have worked there for a long time
and the trainer at All Type is excellent.  She is very patient, precise about the process, and no question is too dumb for her.  She never makes you feel stupid for asking.  All your account specifics are in writing so you can refer to them instead of sitting there in the dark.  The typing platforms are varied but not difficult to learn.
Yes. Have worked for a long time and
always had work in the morning, but now there is nothing to do. I can't even make my minimum line counts most of the time.
I worked for Futurenet for a long time. sm

I can honestly say that I did not work on any accounts without a majority of ESLs.  Unless they got a lot of new accounts that are really good, the norm with them was heavy ESLs.  I would advise any MT who has a problem with ESLs to check this out thoroughly before applying with them.

i worked for MQ a long time, and find
MDIs platform not quite as sophisticated, but plenty adequate, plenty fast, and all in all, a very good place to be. I have the I/N accounts. p.s., I don't find the spell check lacking either.
I worked there a very long time ago. Is Rose still there? sm
I was very happy there, except for the, then manager, who was the owner's sister. That was the only reason I left. Our personalities just clashed and she was very demanding.

Other than that, the company was run very well, I was paid well; however, no matter how many lines I did, it never seemed to be enough. I was transcribing 2500 lines a day, and still it wasn't enough.

I would say good company and give them a try. If the sister is gone, things may be a whole lot better.

I think they use Vianeta now, terrible platform in my opinion.
I worked for them shortly. They were very nice and paid well and on time. sm
This what I did not like. On the account I had, each report had to be saved separately and then individually sent. It seemed to take a lot of time monkeying around with each separate file which was only about 10 to 11 lines long. I do know that not all of their accounts are like this. They were extremely nice people and paid well!!
i've worked for MQ for a long time and never got a raise
nm
Well, call a lawyer then. A good one. You could even get court costs paid by your employer probabl
d
Gone too. Finally, after long wait.
Too much BS.  Either tons of emails, work, work, work for your incentive, not that you EVER see it in your paycheck.  Send emails and get your ticket, automatic response, and never an answer from anyone who should answer.  Pays promised one day and delivered 4 days later.  Done with it and glad to be leaving.  Poor management, poor communication, if any, and poor everything.  RUN.
Once worked for a group of surgeons, 12 different specialities in their office. (nm)

High turnover rate? I don't think so. I have worked with the same group sm
for the past 2 years and the only change has been that the account got busier and 5 or 6 people were added. Keystrokes is a great company, and they do a lot for all of us.
What really sucks is that I looked for a LONG, long time -sm
before joining DRC - wanted a highly reputable, not-too-big co. that was LOCAL, and that treated its MTs humanely. I'm very happy with DRC & had planned to stay with them permanently.
Yea, at least u got paid. Everyone who worked for TSI is STILL waiting to be paid

I don't understand how Jayne cannot pay us.  We have christmas coming up.  I bet her family has a fantastic Christmas because she is using OUR money to pay for it.  I worked so hard for her and I know the other girls did too.  How insulting that she will not return phone calls or emails or PAY us.  How does she look at herself in the mirror knowing that the MTs who did all the work FOR her did not get paid.  She even sent me an email saying I give you my word HAHAHA her word is nothing, obviously.  Well, I will call the attorney for the THIRD time and see what is going on.

To the poster, at least you got paid even if it was late.  I sincerely hope you get your last check.

Since it's a private group on Facebook, you have to click on "request to join group" sm
It takes about a day to be added after the request is put in.
OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time.  Yes, there have been changes.  Yes, there will probably be more changes.  I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes.  If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies.  If they don't make money, then I don't make money.  So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies?  I see complaints constantly about all companies.  I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition.  It just is life on life's terms these days.  There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
Is it still being paid on time if you are paid on the 1st and 15th.....
and if the 15th falls on a Saturday getting paid on the 17th?  My bank is open and posts on Saturday that means I am not being paid on the 15th doesn't?  This has happened a lot lately.
Ugh - well I did all my work on time and I expect to be paid on time.

The phone company doesn't wait, the cable company doesn't wait, and the electric company doesn't wait for their money either - all of which I need to pay in order to do my job.  I work when I am supposed to, I help when behind, and give 110%, and I ask for my check to be on time.

I think if an MTSO is going to have to mail checks they should do so priority to make up for the delay.

Might be only the endocrine doc in a GI group, only the pacemaker doc in a cardio group, etc. nm
n
It just depends on how long the report is. Are you paid by
nm
Nope. I have gotten paid on time every time.
You must be thinking of somewhere else.
You're supposed to get 12 hrs of paid training even though it doesn't take that long to learn
s
I worked for someone who paid 9 cpl on a 55 BCL..seemed like a rip-off.
I did a whole page of dictation which ended up being like 30-35 lines..No thanks.
How long have you worked for them? nm
x
how long have you worked for dsg?

How long had you worked for the company? sm
I feel like a dolt for not doing any research on this company before beginning to work for them. I was already a bit apprehensive because they do not have direct deposit. Had you worked for them long before the problem with the paychecks? My feeling is, first check they miss, I'm outta here, but that does not compensate for the money already lost. :(

Thanks!
May I ask how long you have worked for Cymed?
What you've said sounds pretty good to me.
How long have you worked for CyMed?
I just started with them (also PT) and can't quite get the required line count yet although close. Some days are great. Then others are bad (bad ESLs). Overall, I really like working here though. Thanks for the info in advance.
I didn't know there was one, how long have you worked there? SM
I have been with them about 1 year. I came from MQ.
How long have you worked for Webmedx?

I've worked for them not too long but so far
I think their work ethics and how they treat their employees far surpasses (in my eyes) my temporary lack of work. I've worked for too many nationals that treat me like pond scum, so I really like these people.
Apparently nobody's worked there t for long. n/m
x
If you worked, you should get paid. It is a risk on both parts. I would sm

call them and ask why you were not paid.

I have heard lately about companies that do not pay on time, are constantly late, never the right amount, and it amazes me that people continue to work for them.

If you just started with them and left, you still need to be paid for thew work you performed.

I remember one co I worked for that paid weekly
and on that first paycheck from Monday to Friday, the check was in the bank. We were paid by the hour though and worked in-house (a service). They gave you the benefit of the doubt with the 40-hr week and I guess if anything had happened during the week, they would adjust it out the next.

I also worked for another MT service as a remote employee that paid weekly. The pay period would end I think on Sunday and the money was in the bank on Friday so you just had a 4-day wait.

I love weekly pay. Makes the week just fly by! That also requires a very very organized payroll dept and the service has to have enough backup money in the bank, which is smart for any company.

I wish all companies paid like that! LOL

Those weeks would just fly by if they did.

hosp I worked for paid IC MTs $1.25/min for 2000 min/mo and
??
I worked for ProScribe then Cymed and none of them paid OT
Yuck.
When I worked in-house I was paid by the hour....

only had to maintain 135 lph...but I never heard of anyone who was reprimanded for not maintaining that. The nice thing was the hourly pay (between $13 and $17 an hour) whether there was work or not, PTO, etc. Had work 98% of the time and if not we could go down to medical records and help out or go home early.

I worked for them briefly, and (apparently amazingly) did get paid. sm

BUT, it is not worth the time.  The work was easy -- clinic work -- and I was already famliar with Bayscribe, so I thought maybe it would justify taking a lower rate of pay (8-1/2 cpl, I think) as the ease of the work would result in more lines.  WRONG ... Their method of line counting hurts you tremendously.  They do not pay for spaces, and then add in 10%.  At MDI, I average 300-350 lines per hour doing acute care.  With eTranz's method of line counting, I only did 250 lines with my fingers flying!  SO ........ WAY less pay, much fewer lines ... didn't make sense to jump ship for that.

And, I must say, I found their QA person to be very snippy/snotty.  Any questions I had were usually met with some kind of sarcastic reply.  No one needs that.

If I had seen all of the warnings about no pay, I would not have even considered the position in the first place.  Sometimes I suffer from the is the grass greener somewhere else syndrome, but I never leave because fact is, it isn't (for me, that is).

Good luck in your job search.  :-)

The company I worked for paid by the dictation minute as well. They said sm

that was the only way to know what you had transcribed, since there is already so much information there.  If I remember correctly, it was something like Meditech where you are typing in the patient's actual chart.  It didn't work out to be very profitable for me, but perhaps this company has a better system.  The company I worked for was MedTran Unlimited or something like that.  I was only part-time, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.  After a few days, I realized it wasn't going to work out for me and so I gave my notice, and so they didn't pay me for the training or any of the work I had done.  I haven't read anything bad about MD-IT, so they might work with you and make it worth your while.

Good luck.   And thanks for the compliment on my doggie -- she is very much my baby.

Every company I have worked for (5 total) has paid twice a month. sm
Every two weeks would be too hard to manage. I get paid on the 10th and 25th, so I pay all my bills on the 12th and 27th, which works out perfectly for me.
May I ask if not getting paid on TIME
x
Always paid on time....sm
Nice folks to work for - small agency. When I was with them, they paid weekly (never late). The problem I had was that they would assign new accounts or new doctors to you without notifying you first.
Not paid on time
The only negative I have heard about this company is that they DO NOT pay their MTs on time. MTs are having to BEG for their paycheck, which is not professional at all!
Never - always get paid on time
nm
paid on time
If you want paid on time, health insurance, PTO, good feedback, please come to work for Keystrokes.  I started in January and would not leave to go anywhere else.  The company is hiring now and needs basic 4 MTs.  I'll get off my soapbox now.  Thanks.
Because we don't get paid for down time
they would have to mark the hours as not working and thus not getting paid.
Paid time off
Welcome to the real world!!! If you are low man on the totem pole do NOT expect T-day or Xmas off -- those holidays truly belong to the MTs whom have been with the company for years. You can't even be expected to work outside in the corporate world and have a 2 week paid vacation after a year !
Had you worked for them very long? How many lines were you averaging each pay period?
That is terrible.  I am so sorry to hear that.  Best of luck to you in your new job.
I have been an MT for a LONG time but
stupid old old Medrite and DOS. I just find the lines super super hard to get! My QA scores are fine, but my counts suck :( I keep building my Expander hoping it will come around but it looks hopeless. I am very discouraged.
To long time MGr no more
Mine was a chronic illness that has improved with treatment; still, I can see how HR discrimination might possibly get in the way.

I would love the flexibility. Where can I find out more about what IC status is? I have some vague idea, but no real idea of serious pros and cons. Thanks so much for your reply!
