You bit on it, and now you're stuck!
You can't trust everyone in this profession.  One day, you'll wake up and realize what you're doing, which is defending someone who obviously knows how to make a buck off of people like you.  Have a nice life!
If you have to use what THEY say to use, you're stuck. Ctrl + I and logging in to iChart do not

LOL! You and me both. It really is the Titanic.

    you're right - a lot have left
Big exodus now, big exodus 2 years ago when they made everyone employees. I left and it has been a good change. If you do leave remember that everyone has a learning curve at a new company and avoid the urge to go back to what is familiar and comfortable.
Yes, you left out the fact that you don't know what you're talking about. sm
Keystrokes pays unemployment in every state that we have employees in (38 at this point).

Supply reference books? Supply fax machine? Yes. If someone cannot get something that will help them, the owner of Keystrokes always helps out.

My husband is a tradesman. He is an employee and is union. He has had to pay for his own tools, his own vehicle to and from work, his own clothes that are destroyed constantly, his own gas. Why should transcription be any different?

I have worked for Keystrokes for 5 years. I transcribe when needed, as many as 15,000 lines per pay period. I have had slow periods like everyone else.

Yes, I get paid a salary I earn in. If you want to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, filling in when transcriptionists call in or don't start their shift on time, giving up hot meals and nights out because a Transcriptionist cannot work their shift, then become management.

I have heard every excuse in the book. I have proofed work from experienced transcriptionists that look like a novice transcribed it. I have worked schedules around everyone's personal lives.

Think management is all fun and games? Think again. I make a good dollar because I earn it.
And we're glad you left too. Plenty of work for the rest of us. nm

    I am stuck at OSi

I tried full time with another company but had issues with their platform and couldn't make my line count so now I'm stuck back at OSi full time and hate every minute of it.  I'm too depressed and downtrodden to even keep trying.  I feel like I'm in an impossible situation.  This has been going on for years and I don't know where to turn.  If I make another leap which doesn't turn out I will be in the same boat.

Looks like you are stuck with us.

It's true that the new MTs get stuck w/ crap
I found that to be true and got nowhere when I asked to be moved. The person who started this thread is making the right decision by leaving and so am I.
Are U new there? Get stuck with an atrocious acct out of NY? nm

Oh my...Ever get a word stuck in your brain...sm

I have been stuck with companies that subcontracted
I work escription and love the platform, but have been stuck working for a company that subcontracted from I don't know where. I have looked for other companies to work for, but find so many subcontract for the company I work for (who gets the work from someone else) and are connected somehow. How can you find the source company to work for? I would really love to know that. Thank anyone in advane who can answer that. It is very true that the more people who take a piece of the pie before you, get the best pieces, hence more money.

you are ignorant and stuck in the Middle Ages...
VR is not always bad, the bad is that the pay is much, much too low. It should pay the same as straight.
I saw the writing on the wall a long time ago. Sorry for those who stuck around!! sm
I sure hope you find something soon......my heart goes out to you. Lesson learned, I suppose. When people show you who they really are....believe it.

I was in Fort Wayne so I dont think we know each other. I stuck it out until 2005, SM

outstanding account(s) to do this in 8 hours.  We had one whole week lately with no work at all, maybe get 30 lines an hour.  And it wasn't just our office, people were calling NJ also about not having any work.

And if you are doing quality work, you have to be slowing down to make out the slurrs and bad grammar.

Well, her day will come.  When they turn her into an editor, and her accounts dry up into nothing but VR let's see what happens.  And her account must be very simple (tasty for VR grabbing), it will disappear.

    LOL

No one is stuck with the worst. The work is not pooled like MQ. It is by account and FIFO. nm

It is as simple as filling out a form. I did it when I left an MTSO and when I left sm
a non-MT position at a company years ago.

What company? I did not know that any of them offer 401K anymore.
Hope you're enjoying those slave wages you're earning.

So you guys feel you're getting paid what you're worth with VR?
I'm not trying to be snarky. I've never done VR, so I'm trying to understand.

You're happy with your paycheck with VR? Do you find the files to be as bad as the original post implied?
So you're telling me, basically, they're bad news?
They offered me 0.095/line and you know - it sounded too good to be true, but I SWEAR the recruiter told me they do not outsource. Oh brother... I just wish they'd be honest. I really don't know what to do.
Not the OP, but they're supposed to take out all the other taxes as you're an employee with th
    s
No, they're not losing money....they're gaining!
If a company charges their clients by the line, I'm sure that line rate does not go down even though the MTs pay does.

ASR pays about 2/3 normal line rate to its MTs. Their ultimate goal is to have the MTs do twice as much work. Therefore, the client is getting their work faster, but paying their normal rate, while corporate gets that money and the MTs get the lower line rate.

Whether the newbies want to realize it or not, MTSOs have not increased MTs' salaries in the past 10 years. They still start out at the same pay as the last century!

This used to be a very lucrative profession. Nowadays, most MTs are considered to be paid at the poverty level. You don't believe me, look it up!
Hey, you're in luck then. They're hiring! (nm)

may I ask why you left? nm
    ,,
I would keep looking. I left after a
month because of the very low and convoluted pay scale, as well as the fact that I was never kept on an account long enough to build up any speed. Unless things have changed, you'll waste a lot of time looking up information that other services provide. They're nice people and they paid on time, but I didn't see enough earning potential so I moved on. BTW, I had 15 years of experience at that time and 99+% QA scores.
    When I left
I was told by my PS that if I went with another company, MQ would one day buy it and then fire any MQ working there who had left MQ for that company. At the time it seemed like an empty threat, but who knows?
I did too, but left them behind and
if you want to email me I will tell you about my experience. I do not like the idea of posting negative things on this board, as everyone finds a company to be different for them. If interested, I will be glad to share.
I tell you why I left

Did you notice on Spantel the time difference?  You could be working in the evening yet the system would show it was the next day?  I was told about that when I was hired, yet I was constantly hearing from my manager about not having enough lines and there they were, credited for the next day.  They lost paperwork constantly as well and I had to work an entire month before getting paid because somebody lost the paperwork I filled out.

I'd check my lines and see a list of jobs that showed 0 lines...yet go back in later and some would be there.  It was very very inconsistent.

    LOL - that's why I left!!

    That is why I left
    nn
    will anybody be left?
OMG, I know how you feel. My position was also outsourced after 20 years. I currently work for a national; but I feel there is no job security. So, I plan to go back to school and get out of transcription. This is not a profession that I would advise anybody to get into.
