I meant it's worse than editing - it's

I can't type, either, I meant to say
HATE California, not LATE California. Guess I didn't get enough coffee. I look at what has happened to the MT industry in California insofar as the state institutions (UCLA, etc.) are concerned, and it is really sad. I guess Cal is a microcosm of the bigger world......
(I cant type today) - I meant,

DocQScribe is a much better editing platform than

Dictatphone EXSpeech, which Transtech uses.  You will never make the lines you can make editing on DQS.  I don't know if you do editing with the Q or not, but you cannot beat DQS, IMHO.  EXSpeech has a lot to be desired.  You will also not be able to make the lines you do on DQS, nor is it easy to keep up with your lines.

Also, I must say that we have to do a manual timesheet and email it.  No automated timesheet.  Don't know if that matters to you or not.

MEANT to type NOT paying for SPACES....TOO EARLY.NM
XXXXXXXXXXX
Transtech does have voice recognition. Horrible platform for editing.
Dictaphone Exspeech is the very worst VR platform I have ever worked on.  Yes, the MT line rate is much reduced for it, too.
What speech/editing platform do you find the most profitable (money-wise for the MT, of course)?
What company uses it, please.  Detest Dictaphone Exspeech.  DQS was very user friendly.  Any others?
That is who I meant, worked for them years ago. Like there platform, so simple.
nm
What type of platform is it?
I won't ask where you work, but do you use Meditech, Word, CTS, what?  I left my email if you don't want to answer here.  I've been seeking a better solution for myself with regard to platform because I'm really tired of spending so much time looking up patient demographics and doctors' addresses.  I could actually be making decent money at this if I didn't waste 20% of my time looking up that information for every report.
I-Type platform?
nm
All-Type platform etc

They are using two different platforms, but the one they are hiring for is DocQScribe, which is the Medquist platform... this platform is in my opinion the best.  They can help you if you have expansions to load them onto the platform so that you don't have to type them all back in, too - I don't know if they can do it with every expansion program, but I know they can do it with Word Autocorrect.  I have been with them for about 2 years, and pay has NEVER, ever been late.  I am IC so I don't know about if they pay extra for holidays or not.  You would have to ask a recruiter.  QA usually leaves you alone once you pass the 100% review phase of your work, which if you are a good MT doesn't last long at all.  They only contact you with corrections, etc., if there is something major or if you request to have a copy of a specific report.  The QA team is really helpful though for answering questions.  This is by far the best company I have ever worked for, but not everyone has the same experience with every company.  I can't imagine what, but I am sure there is someone out there with something bad they can say about the company... it seems on these boards there is always someone who can say something bad about any company.. lol :)

Freedom Type - platform? - sm

What is the platform like that Freedom Type uses?  Hard to get used to or up and running immediately?

Does anyone know what type of platform MxSecure
I love cardiology and am just wondering if they use a platform before I apply.  I wouldn't want to waste their valuable time if they expect work transcribed on a platform, i.e., Emdat or the like.  I am interested in typing in Word and using Express Scribe for voice.  Any info would be greatly appreciated!      my fellow MTs.......
Keystrokes uses mroe than one type of platform
Some accounts require a C-phone, some don't. It all depends on the account.
What type of platform does TransTech utilize?

Is it hard to learn?

I type in Word and use the Scribe platform...
but I don't use a C-phone...
need to clarify...I meant if you are taking a specific "training" class on the platform, navig
then no you are not getting paid...but if you are typing reports then yes...
Accustat (WI) - what type of platform, equipment needed, etc? Thanks! nm

I meant nothing wrong. I meant a friend who can vouch for

It was not meant to be nasty. I meant that you should take every job seriously. Just because someo
is their focus does not mean that patients should suffer. 96% accuracy could mean the difference to someone who is on the receiving end of that report. I am NOT QA or management but I am an experienced Transcriptionist who believes that the reports we transcribe need to be accurate for the patient's sake.
I think your getting it all wrong.. She is probably doing VR editing..not the same as QA editing..
Does make a difference as you are not correcting someone's else work.. just VR to make sure the sentences make sense, right punctuation etc..If you have good English skills, it is not that difficult but this 1.5 cpl is a joke.
Webmedx watches every min you type or don't type.
I personally didn't like logging off to go to the bathroom or get a drink or whatever. Drove me nuts. They were too regimented for me. Not sure if you are aware they do that. Part of working at home is the flexibility and they just weren't. Good Luck
That is not what I meant at all! Meant broaden to

Broaden to think leave to other profession if that is what is wanted, dont limit yourself to thinking only can leave to another MTSO.  Geeesh.

RISS is not a platform. RIS stands for Radiology Information System. The platform sm
would be EXText.
MDI-MD platform is fast, not full of problems like Transcend platform or MDI-FL

On Transcend platform you have to click, click, click all day and still get errors, change screens constantly -  its a nightmare to work in.

Yes, SPi does use this platform....it's a great platform, but not worth working for SPi. nm

Bad Platform. I personally know of 3 MTs who left because of the platform.
If you are like me, the bottom line is wages and what I get in my check. I have never worked for Amphion, but I personally know of 3 MTs who worked part-time at Amphion before quitting their other service to see what Amphion had to offer before it was too late. All 3 quit Amphion and stayed with their other service because of the Amphion platform. Too hard to make any decent lines.

Something to think about.

Here is one post from a couple days back:

To all of us trying our hardest to grab our work when it is available, and then still only make 24 bucks a day because of the garbage platform.

Not editing.
Typing yes, editing no, not yet.  I didnt say I wouldnt have a pay cut.  I did say that I feel I can produce however, the more I do it.  If i left Transcend because of editing and pay cuts, I would work somewhere else and make probably the same typing.  I am getting paid good with or without the pay cut.  If you go somewhere else, how do you know in the future that company will not be moving to the same typing of editing platform???? Because they said they wouldn't?   Dont believe that.  It is the future, many companies are going to be doing it.  I will know how which will keep me having a job.
I can get at leAST 5 cpl editing at
Softscript, much better than 4 or 4.8 cpl.
2 cpl for editing? TIA
nm
6 cpl as an IC for editing?
s
No - not at 4 cpl, but at 12 cpl editing VR. nm
x
Editing at 12 cpl?
Who do you work for that you are making 12 cpl for editing?
VR Editing, or you use VR? NM
nm
editing
I know of NO companies that pay decent for editing.  They think it takes less time and gives us higher line counts; just the opposite for me at the 2 places I've done editing.   It takes more time to delete and add words and fix words than it does to just transcribe it.  Especially when the voice recognition isn't even close!
Yes 1.5 cpl for editing

I have been an MT for 2 years, I have never edited before.  This is my first editing position.  I am learning a lot.  Sure the pay is not the best, but I am learning.  Don't get me wrong, I do need money, but I also need experience in this field.  I don't know if the pay goes up or not, I have only been with them for almost 2 months and have not asked for a pay raise.  I am sure there are editing jobs that pay more, but I like the company, the people, and the flexibility.  There are no set lines you have to edit.  You go at your own pace.  There are pros and cons to every company.  Some like Shapin, others do not.

Do you mean editing VR, or MTs?
xx
Would you consider editing?
Superior global solutions has both editing and straight transcription. I have been here for a few months not and LOVE them. Easy word-based system to use and I tip back and forth between straight typing and editing voice. I have CTS and have noticed a big improvement. Maybe you should consider editing?.
Editing pay is way too low BUT
a liveable wage is just as someone below said at $16 to $20, but find the companies and count them on one hand that pay it. Companies today are not interested in quality or they would pay editors a decent wage. Half of what I earned as an MT is NOT a decent wage and $16 to $20 is half of what I earned as an MT.
I do editing myself, and...........
I can say that they might be able to see the view, but the font is not touched in any way. Sounds like your QA person does not know much about computers. I would just do it, they cannot fire you for trying to save your eyesight, and they cannot tell you not to do that. I always do it. Does not change font.
Go for the VR editing
This is the future of MT - it won't hurt you to learn it now while it is still new. Keystrokes - unless you can deal with a lot of emotional drama - I'd go the other way.
Editing?
As of a year ago, they didn't do editing. Their platform had been purchased by Nuance/Dragon Naturally Speaking, but I didn't get the impression they would be going the VR route any time soon.
Not VR editing, QA editing
They had an ad for a regular editor.  Heard various things from them being wonderful to bouncing checks, but I can't really find anything definite.
I know where you can get way more for editing!
nm
Editing
Do you mind if I ask why you work as an Editor for someone who hires with such low standards? In other words, too CHEAP to pay qualified MTs what they are worth. As long as the experienced MTs are willing to accept these low salaries to clean up crap, the cycle will just continue of salaries going down, down, down.
I Like Editing

I Like editing with eScription.   I can edit twice as fast as I can type.     Before eScription, my wrists and shoulders would hurt at the end of the day.    I don't have that problem any more.

I've been a transcriptionists for 15 years.  Before, eScription, I was worried about how much longer I could work.  I think eScription has extended my career.

Anybody out there do editing for
Transtech? Just wondering if it was good or bad, how much pay, etc?
Editing
Right now I make $15 hr editing. Can you really make that good of money at .04? What is the platform and is there a lot of formatting, etc?
editing
No, not a lot of formatting. Mostly it is just punctuation, etc. But some doctors do require major editing. It works out for me but I guess it depends on the docs you get and how comfortable you are
MT Editing
Just curious - does anyone know if MT Editors have a special program they use to be able to distinguish words we miss as transcriptionists very clearly?  I find it interesting that what is a simple word, which I know once the correction comes back, that they are able to figure it out and have a flawless report.
Doing 100% QA Editing for 3 cpl
Is 3 cpl considered low for being expected to do 100% QA on every file?  Seems like I just can't make any money listening to every single dictation from beginning to end, but yet this is what is expected.
