Job hunting

In Reply to: Just how aggressive should one be in applying (sm) - job hunter

I don't have time to mess around with game playing.  Several years ago I posted my resume on this website and waited for those serious about hiring to contact me.  Didn't have to wait long either, I was bombarded with calls and chose my job from those who responded. Computer was shipped out the same day I accepted employment.  That was 4 years ago and I am NOT job hunting.  If they don't even have time to respond to you what on earth makes you think you'd want to work for them???

Job-Hunting
Could somebody please help me?

I haven't ever really looked around to specifically compare the various gazillion different smaller services. Until now....

I'm currently looking at the following companies, and would greatly appreciate specific comments on any of them:

Landmark

eTransPlus

TRX

MTS

Transolutions

CTS

I do basic 4 reports, prefer op notes, do great with ESL's and absolutely despise VR. Line rate is important, but so is flexibility. IC status is a PLUS. Benefits don't matter. Well, no, wait a sec... Benefits such as on-time paychecks and a steady work-flow DO matter.

Thanks so much in advance for any and all constructive input!

Back when I was job hunting....

I had a few companies actually send me a copy of the corrected test.  I love that because I can actually see what I did wrong.  I probably took 20 tests and was offered jobs by around 12 companies, never heard back from the rest, except for ONE that said I failed.  I was quite discouraged by that one though, because I couldn't figure out how I failed.  I think they said I could test again in 3 months or 6 months, but I found a job anyway that I didn't even have to test for and I love it.

JUST KEEP TRYING THOUGH, take as many tests as you can.  GOOD LUCK

If they pay so well, why are you hunting for referrals from people you do not personally know? sm

I am a skeptic. If someone is considering signing up anyway, what benefit would they get out of letting you get a referral bonus when you do not even know them?  Do you get to keep the bonus if the person referred gets fired or quits?  Just wondering how this works?  How much is the bonus per person?  Hope you will fill us in with more details.

Some recruiters are paid a head-hunting fee
if you're getting an uncomfortable feeling, don't ignore it.  It's your intuition speaking to you.
I imagine they're busy job hunting.
I received my phone call yesterday.  I still think it stinks that they waited until 2 weeks before things ended to call and tell me they lost the account but they have no idea why they lost it - BS They know exactly what happened.  Yes, a 2-week notice is better than nothing but they've known for a while now.  I guess I just expected better from this company overall.  They were really great to work for until greed took over and India stepped in.  As they say, what goes around comes around.
Is everyone that is job hunting finding jobs available with all the MTs moving around right now. I
am thinking of looking but not sure of the job market right now.
12 hour window? OSI changing policy, job hunting

Does anyone know which companies allow a 12 hour window to work your shift?  Can you post the name if you know of one.

OSI had announced they will now having employees punch in and out starting the 16th and this will not work for me.  That was the whole reason I went with the company 4 months ago.  I work my scheduled days, every day.  Never call in.  Work OT as needed.  I work on an acute care account with multiple dictators doing all work types for a group of hospitals, don't mind that.  But I need flexibility in the hours I work.  The reason I work at home is so I can take the kids to school or be here if they're sick, etc. The reason I work at home is so I'm not chained to a desk for 8 hours straight.  I'm very disappointed. I thought OSi was going to be a very good fit for me.
