Just get a router

Most routers have four ports. Sometimes you'll have a problem connecting to a VPN with a router, so you'll want to probably get it installed by someone who knows how to set it up... or one of the geniuses on this board :) may already know.

Do you know what router you have now?
You can use a router, just not a wireless one. nm

I wish their paperwork would have said this, then I would have never made this post.
I got hit with router, but they only do overflow work
and we ran out of work constantly. They play favorites big time, so the good work goes to a few people and the rest of us got the left-over garbage. The tech ruined my computer and that cost me a big bucks to get fixed.
Get a Linksys router at Wal-Mart $40-60
simple
but that is the standard reply. It isn't so much a router
issue as it is a server issue and they way their servers are routed is what one of the tech guys called me.  It was a major issue for a lot of MTs, which made it very hard to get lines a few months ago, but supposedly as of January they had resolved the issue, although one of the techs told me it wouldn't be fixed anytime soon because it would require thousands of dollars to upgrade servers.
yes, can use router but the tech people will not help

Correction--I should have said wireless router, not modem
Wireless routers allow you to hook your computer up via ethernet.  It goes between the modem and the computer.
