LMAO. The hospital locally PROMISED

Posted By: to let MT's go home to work but on 2007-12-06
In Reply to: GUESS WHAT!!!! - NON-NATIONAL

when the time came, they did not follow through with their promise. Alot of MT's walked and now work for nationals and are much more happy and make a whole lot more money, including myself.

Your situation is good for you, but may not be so good for the next person.

911 locally
I think it depends where you live.  In my town, a young couple tried to call 911 with Vonage after business hours when their baby girl stopped breathing.  They got a recording to leave a message.  By the time they got to a neighbor's house and were able to call and help arrived it was too late and the little girl died.  I just won't take any chances like that so I keep a regular land line as well.
Look locally
Call around to the doctor's offices in your area and see how they do thier transcription. I got my first job working for a local psychiatry practice. It may mean going back to the microcassettes, but that way, you can dictate what you get paid. If you can get your pay rate up enough, you might be able to pay for your own insurance rather than having benefits from a company. Just another avenue you might be able to take. Good Luck to you!! =)
I think the only way that this can be done is to go locally
to a group practice or single physician. That's why I choose to work locally instead of for a national company.
have you tried locally?

When I was looking, I went through the phone book and sent a resume to every transcription service in my state.

I also sent resumes to companies that were not hiring just in case.  Make a nice cover letter that explains you situation a little better.  Do NOT give up.  Someone will give you a chance.

I got 2 years of training locally before I ever went home just because there is so much to learn.  I also had a friend that worked from home, more experience, and when I finally went home, I called her several times thorugh the day... what did he just say, how do you do this... do you have anyone locally to help you?

locally isn't hiring right now
that list from mtdaily has several services in my state.  I even contacted a local temp agency that I heard may be hiring...unfortunately everyone I contacted is on a hiring freeze (colorado) and there are only two companies listed in the phone book.  I even tried to get back with my old CSHP where I started after graduation and found out they are outsourcing with one of the bigger companies...like Transcend or some one like that.
always networking locally
I work for a national company, but also have two local docs for small part-time work (better pay than the national). I'm always networking whenever I meet anyone in the medical field, letting them know what I do, how long I've done it, and that I love the work. Be friendly and let them know you're available; that's how I got the local work. You never know what will come up, even if it's months/years later.
Try looking locally like the other posted stated
That's what I do now.
MDI-Florida. They promised me
ops, but they never have any.
They promised you a raise already? Or is that
not what you meant? I just find that surprising. Is the pay good? Do you have enough work on 1 account? Is it internet? Wondering if I should check them out.

I have been promised things by KS that have yet to
x
You mean not being told to find another job, being promised 3
bonuses that were never  paid, a gift certificate for Outback restaurant that was never received, entry into a drawing for $100 gift certificate that you never even heard who won it,  would not endear you to a company so you would be its most loyal employee?   Now you know why I dumped MDI-FL and went to a company that actually appreciates employees, pays bonuses it promised me, and has equal benefits, and pays more on a decent platform.
promised rate increase
I have to 100% agree with your statement as I personally experienced just what you stated.
Were you promised a raise after a year?
x
Promised to call you to start work?
I'm sorry, but as a recruiter it's hard to believe that a company looks at your testing and assumes that you'll buy in to what they're selling before having a long discussion between the two of you. Something's fishy here.
Was hired for a company that promised lots of work.

do they do this?  I checked the archives on this company before accepting the position and although there were similar complaints along with disorganization and some others I decided to give it a try.  In retrospect I should have listened to those posts.  I'm out of work for the 4th time now, there's no communication.  I don't know if my first clue something was amiss was the recruiter with her kids screaming in the background during the interview or the vague answers to questions I had clearing indicating there no transcription experience on her end.  Why do companies do this.  I have bills to pay and I always, always address this situation - is there enough work, do you run out of work often.  I know there are times when work may be low but this consistently happening.

TransCRAPtionist - ROFL!!!  That is PERFECT!  This may be the only laugh I get all day - THANK YOU!!!  :)  And, of course, on those days when I feel like a total zombie, lifeless, trapped in a never-ending twilight transcription zone, I can always call myself a TransCRYPTionist.  Uh oh....you've got me thinking now - lol!  Have a great day (if you can) everyone!

Honestly, what is your problem? Why so hateful? What, you have millions in the bank.. Then why blog here? Compassion is a lovely trait.. you should try it once.
RE: LMAO
Um, not so overdramatic. It's happening to a lot of MTs. Not all of us have a hubby with a decent paying job and bennies to rely on. And getting on food stamps? Honey, they aren't handing them out like candy. Around here you have to jump through hoops to get them and even then I'm considered to make too much to receive them. And yes, I have eaten crackers and peanut butter etc just to make sure my kids ate. This is why I'm going to go back to school. Something that actually pays a living wage. Because sitting for an 8 hour shift and getting maybe 8 jobs isn't feeding my kids.
LMAO! All that and you have so much time
You bbetter come up with a better scam or stop posting here so much because it's very obvious that you're management and getting paid a salary with no need to worry about making any lines. If you needed to worry about lines you'd have about 5 minutes left of your work day today since you've been here constantly. What a liar.
LMAO. Soon they'll have........sm
QA to QA the QA-ers !!

Funny how all the people who claim to think VR is the greatest, simplest thing since the microwave also come back later to state that they have alternate sources of income. Based on their postings, I suspect some of their other income comes from writing fiction.

First for hospital, then outsourced still on same hospital work
and believe it or not, the hospital was so much easier. Had worked at the hospital for 11 years before they outsourced and then worked another 3+ years for the company they outsourced to. What a difference! The company had so many rules and regulations you could hardly keep up with them all, thousands of them, on the same account, mind you. The higher ups would not leave you alone, constant IMs about any and all. I have gotten to the age where I do not need all that and walked the other week. Have scheduled testing with another hospital for this month. Hope I make the cut, love the hospital work 1000 times more than a company.
I did speak with my manager. Work was promised. No work there when I needed to work.
I see the reports everyday too, but when I get work it is of bad quality, then there is no work unless I work diffrent shifts. Thank you.
lmao!! yeah maybe I'm the recruiter...suggesting that my co-worker is the problem. yeah that make
x
Thank you!!! The hospital I am ..
with is going to be switching over -- don't much about it so this is encouraging!
