Matter of fact he threw that in the newsletter yesterday

said that a client asked for offshore work and they complied.

I can't believe any client would ask for offshore help as anal as they are about US MT's.

I got mine yesterday. I really like it and appreciate the fact that they sent them (sm)
But they sent the wrong size and it's way too small and I can't even wear it!  I'm sure it can't be exchanged as they were probably all sent out.  :(
Yes, as a matter of fact I do. sm
I haven't worked for MQ, so they, indeed, may be better than MQ. However, I have countless accounts with Webmedx and still run out of work. I can do all work types. I bounce around on many accounts. I am completely out of work some days. It usually picks up later, but who has the kind of life that they can be around all day waiting for work to trickle in? And bouncing around on many accounts costs the MT.

And there are plenty of similar opinions if you simply look over the archives.
Yep, as a matter of fact
we had plumbers who were on call, had to call them one night with burst pipes inside the wall somewhere, ceiling was falling in above.  Also had to call them out on Thanksgiving day one year after our pump got backed up in the basement guest bathroom, very bad mess (lived in the country then and they were kindly asked not to put ANYTHING down the toilet but the toilet paper provided).  Plumber pulled out the pump and hauled it off clogged up with Tampax and cig butts, yuck, guests were a little embarrassed to say the least.   Needless to say, that little episode cost us about 1000 bucks there.  But guess what, they charge a pretty penny for these services, rightfully so, and although it set us back at a bad time, were glad to pay the extra cost for their STAT service after hours and a holiday.  I know I always got paid well for being on call for the lab, nights and on holidays, althought as an employee.  I wonder what would happen if I would say as an IC, my services will be such and such on Thanksgiving or after 6 p.m. or whatever.  I still haven't been able to figure that one out!   I know with one company I first started with told me I had to work every holiday if it fell on a day during the week when I was scheduled, end of story, so consequently, being naive, I did just that for 2 years with no extra compensation and usually no work.  Sorry for the rambling, just ruminating on exactly where do we stand as ICs as compared to others, such as plumbers, and what is right and where does it cross over the line and what should we as MTs be doing about this, or is too far gone?
    as a matter of fact...
I do. If the work is low, I try very hard not to take more than what I consider to be fair and to leave work for others. I see people scramble to get it all and the quality of the work suffers because people are in such a hurry to get everything they can that they are rushing around and thus making more mistakes. And I for one am sick of selfish people! What makes you think you are more important than anyone else?
you said it GP! Matter of fact, the sm
company that I got laid-off from on Monday apparently reads this board. I got several e-mail messages from the supervisor of Milner. If I were an MTSO I wouldn't give it a second thought, but apparently posting on this board really bothered her and she let me know it. O well, I didn't do anything but post the truth and if they don't like it, then I guess maybe they need to clean up their act!

I guess this particular MTSO saw someone posting the truth and for whatever reason, it really bothered her and isn't even the owner! Just a supervisor.
Katie is still there, as a matter of fact
Katie's husband is the account liaison for one of the accounts. Katie is in recruiting now.
I agree. As a matter of fact,
I do believe that I recognized the very ad you are speaking of as being a company called Intellitype??? maybe (something like that). Anyway, I had wondered why this ad did not state the company name, and it seemed a little fishy to me. Although it occurred to me later that I had seen some negative posts here regarding that company, so perhaps that's why.
As a matter of fact, I'm out of work
right now. It happens everywhere occasionally. Only thing I don't like is, whenever I ask for a backup, I'm told that work is low across the board and to flex. I've seen people on here say, all you have to do is ask and they give you a backup account. Hasn't happened for me.
The fact of the matter is that they don't care about ALL MTs..
I know. I tried it, and it just didn't work for me. While I respect your right to be a cheerleader for this place, *you* should also respect the right of those who just don't or didn't like TT and are sick and tired of hearing about it. Yes, we can skip over the messages, but this board is starting to read like a novelette with pom-poms flying in our faces. The fact that we don't or didn't like TT shouldn't be characterized as being a incompetent MT, either. I'm QUITE the opposite, just tired of their favorite pets games and unfair workload. Let it go, PLEASE!
    I wasn't being cold, simply matter-of-fact. sm
My own reproductive history isn't a factor in my opinion. In the list of medical procedures, some things are necessary for life, others are not, they are elective.

Medical insurance exists to protect you against catastrophic financial burden due to unforeseen medical expenses. IVF is personally chosen, it is 100% elective, and it is done only to satisfy a personal want.

As a matter of fact, it did. Several sentences "complete with big words and all!"

What newsletter? I never have received a newsletter and have been there nearly 3 years! nm
    nm
No, I don't use esquire, I just threw that sm
in to be a wise gal and see if anybody really did have a legal background here.  You're pretty sharp kiddo.
I almost threw up when I saw the hair. sM
I still to this day don't know what kind of hair it was, nor do I want to.  The keyboard had some kind of nuts or seeds in it and I actually put it in a trash bag and put it in my garage because I was afraid roaches would come out of it or something.  Totally disgusting.  If they're not going to sanitize the equipment, they should send brand new.  I also refused to use whatever headphones they sent because they didn't look new either.  I always use my own.
I wouldn't blame you if you threw sm
in the towel on this. But please for those of us who DO appreciate it, if you never do another interview, do this one! After that, it is up to the rest of us. The ones who want to gripe and complain are always the ones who gripe the loudest too about no work, outsourcing, offshoring, no hours, supervisors and just complaining in general. some folks you can't please no matter what you do. I wouldn't want to take the abuse either, but its started, please finish if for no one else YOURSELF!!!!!!! I, for one, APPRECIATE IT. The ones who are being the nitpickers about the difference between outsourcing/offshoring are probably the same folks in QA who will throw a perfectly good report back or fire you for a misplaced comma!!!!!!!! Please hang in there!
She threw us under the flipping RICKSHAW, lol!!!
    She can kiss my backside.

My SOUL is NOT part of her $16 million deal.

Jam it, D. I didn't need you before I found MDI-MD, and I sure don't need you NOW.

Did they at least have you tuck your chin as they threw you
Well, or under the RICKSHAW, in this case.

Sounds like MDI-MD and Transcend aren't as strange of bedfellows as I originally thought.

Seems the Q taught their protegees well and they're methods are still being practiced in full force.

My sincere apologies to all of you who just got hit with this. May things be brigher for all of us...AND SOON.
OMG just saw the latest newsletter - LOL!
    LOL LOL
They must be. There are new names in the newsletter every
    s
In every newsletter, there is always a story about SM
how a new MT, just starting out, is doing so well and loves the company. She always owns a large farm out in the country with her husband, 4 children, 5 dogs and 6 cats and perhaps a horse or two. She just started working 1-1/2 ago and has moved up to top level account or Special Teams or Assistant to Supervisor or, maybe she is a supervisor, and if read one more story like that in the newsletter, (and I try not to read them, I just cannot stop myself), but, if I ever read another one, I will throw up!

Dana, if you are reading this, please note, this is not directed at you and I really am glad you are happy with Spheris.
    Newsletter/Husky

I just give the Newsletter to my Siberian Husky to tear apart. At least sombody has fun with it.

OMG! Did you see that pic she submitted that time to the newsletter

    of all shapes,sizes . . . .

    classy

Oh, Gawd, if you could only see the latest newsletter
OSI has been the subject of so much discussion, it just does not get any better. LOL LOL

It is actually a joy to work at OSi because it is so ridiculous that there is never a dull moment. I can't believe that she would have the nerve to post another stupid travelog.
how do you get a newsletter, through snail mail nm

found this - notably, an Indian report.....
Our Newsletter I received today directed us to the new website
www.mditransnet.net- If you have any complaints/issue you can post on our private forum.
This is a fact and you might as well accept it for what it is -- FACT !
It would be a sevice that uses ExText, such as Keystrokes, and I don't know who else uses it.  I would think that Keystrokes is as big or bigger than TT now, however, wouldn't you?
They email everyone a copy of the newsletter. Email and ask
and they will email you one if you haven't been receiving it.
    MT's of yesterday
I, too, started doing MT in the old days. I started out with a selectric typewriter and dictabelts. I sure loved it. There were 12 docs on staff and I was the only transcriptionist. However, due to my then husband being in service, I stopped doing MT to follow him around. We have since been divorced and I am the administrative secretary to a hospital president. I still love MT better than any job I ever did.
    yes - just yesterday again
    nm
    Saw this yesterday

I saw a segment on a TV show yesterday where it was reported Hillary Clinton spoke to some Indian business leaders, and she told them she wants more visas issued so more can come over and start businesses [that will take away jobs].  The commentator did say she wanted to charge money for the visas [I don't know if they are currently free or just cheap] and that maybe she was just saying this to the Indian businessmen because she wants political contributions from them, because apparently elsewhere she has been saying she doesn't want jobs taken from Americans.  In a later segment it was reported that China was going to start making cars to be sold in the US by Chrysler [Chrysler will only market them for China, they won't be making them here].  Right now if the US wants to send cars to China for sale the tariff they charge is 25%, but if China wants to send a car here to sell the tariff we charge is only 2.5%.  Also if the US sells cars in China we have to make parts for the cars over there.  No wonder the headline for this whole thing was called war on middle America. This is one of those times when I wish I was close to retiring.

    Concerning VR yesterday for me
I check my line count each hour as I have always done and yesterday with an hour and 15 minutes on VR I had over 800 lines at 4 cents a line. The VR can be almost letter perfect but it takes good training in order to get it there. I said crud, hope am not working myself out of a job because the platform has turned out to be really good. I chuckled yesterday when reading 1 poster who said she had ESLs that VR would never understand. She would be, like me, completely taken aback to see just how good it can be, with the proper training. I made $32 hours yesterday for the first hour so that is not a bad salary. I hope VR will never be able to go straight through also because that means no job for me!
Yesterday was end of pp at TT and I'd like to know
who got their line count for the payperiod.  I would like to hear honesty, not just that you got the whole pp line count in the first day, or anything like that.  I need to find out if it is possible to do this, or if I need to start working all day every day from the first day of the pp and on every day to do it... Today is day 1 of the pp and I wonder if I should start now... though it would mean 24/7 checking the computer.  Thank you for your input and suggestions on getting my required lines! Need the money and the benefits...
In a thread yesterday or the day before, a QT MT said that .... sm
she had heard from loose-lipped office staff, as I believe she put it. Soit was leaked out unintentionally but, I would imagine, not without merit.
    Got mine yesterday - nm
    x
    I had no work yesterday....
...and this morning the same thing.  I'm looking elsewhere.  I can't pay bills if my fingers aren't makin' money!  This is ridiculous.  Plus, they are advertising to hire more MT's.  There is no work for the ones that are employed there now.
I just did 2 reports yesterday out of 100 who were
on the wrong patient. I could tell. VR would not be able to. Because I was able to put Discrepancy Alert on the top of a report, it may have kept the unthinkable from happening.

I am hoping these scenarios will keep the quality conscious physicians with MTs who have a heart beat.
ok they told me yesterday and I do not....sm

I don't need to be told twice........I don't make the same error twice.

Have applied with them just yesterday. sm
Have done a search but cannot find too much information about them.  Could you tell me why you are so happy with AllType, please?
    tested yesterday
I haven't heard anything back from them yet.  So far, the experience has been very pleasant.  Amy, who I believe is the VP, has been so nice and helpful.  She acts like she really wants me to work for her rather than the take it or leave it attitude I have gotten from other people.
I tried to take a test yesterday.

Been with MQ for 5 years, mostly good until recently when my account went over to Dictaphone and got a new supervisor (after 4 years) with the restructuring April 1.  I took a test using Express Scribe, and the sound quality was horrible - LOTS of white noise.  It makes me wonder about the sound quality of other companies.  If MQ has the best equipment, I may never find another job.  How depressing!

Their best supervisor had her last day yesterday and she usually

would get them right on it. So many new people in positions they do not know how to do and the MTs are on the ones suffering. Counting the hours and days until my time is up with them.

    I applied yesterday....sm
she only pays 7 cents a line.  Wish she would have put that in her ad.  I wouldn't have bothered to apply at all!
I had my internet go down all yesterday and TT said to me sm
It can't be helped. I asked how long they would give me to make up the time I have lost...all pay period which just started Monday (this an employee position). I apologized, I felt bad and I told them I didn't want to lose this job. They said not to worry, we won't be getting rid of you, RELAX and try to enjoy a forced day off, come back ready to work when your internet comes on. Sigh...I like this.

QA continues to be wonderful and understanding. I was fit to be tied with a new work type today so my supervisor called me and was most kind. I got off the phone feeling better about things all the way around. She told me to RELAX we are like family around here and we are glad to have you.

I had internet problems all last spring and into the summer. I got from the MT manager: Email me and let me know what is going on. You think if I could email I'd be on the PHONE telling you my internet is down? Then my supervising QA whined and whined at me every time I went down, like I had control. Then she dumped work on me because I owed it to those who covered for me to give them a break now that I was back on. They were far from understanding.
My TL said they were mailed yesterday, 01/31 also.

    Got mine yesterday.
    They are postmarked the 30th.
    I just tested yesterday
I sent my resume some time ago, and was finally invited to test yesterday. I was told there were only 4 positions open. This company sounds like everything I've been looking for so my fingers are crossed.
I talked to her yesterday or the day before... nm
    x
    I applied yesterday
and got a call this morning. Very prompt.
    I just bought yesterday,
some Phillips iPod ear buds from Walgreen's for $20 and I LOVE them! They have 3 different size ear buds you can attach with a little spongy rubber ring that cancels out all background noise. They are comfy, too, as they finally made a small enough ear bud to fit in my little ears. Definitely worth a try!
    was emailed yesterday
To set up an interview. I told the person I was availabe today and tomorrow and gave times availabe, but I haven't gotten a confirmation.
