Big profits? Not even close. I've been in upper management in a couple of nationals, and it's pretty ugly. I don't know how they manage to exist. Do the math and tell me if you could run a company on 5 cpl or less. Consider taxes, expenses, salaries, everything imaginable.

Now re valuing MTs, I'd agree with you there in my experience. Top management is too busy trying to make venture capitalists smile to worry about whether your needs are met. However, middle management and team leaders can be wonderful at supporting MTs and their needs.

Good luck on your personal venture. I think it's probably a wonderful path for you and you are very lucky if you can find a couple of nice docs who will pay you well and respect your work. Truly!
