Which co has insurance that kicks in after 30 days?

90 days for insurance
I just started with KS and am sure it is 90 days before your insurance kicks in.  I just looked through the paperwork I have though and I see nothing in writing to back up my memory.  I'm still trying to decide if I want to do COBRA or chance it for 3 months.  I have my meds all stocked up to last (did the 90-day mail order).
insurance in under 90 days?
any companies out there starting health benefits for FTEs earlier than 90 days? i know some were 30 a while back, but can't recall now. thanks in advance!
I believe it's 90 days...I got my insurance benefits (sm)
after 90 days.
AXOLOTL, insurance after 30 days
Axolotl offers their insurance after 30 days.  It also very affordable and the coverage is good.
When does the insurance at Precyse kick in? Is it 90 days? nm

2 weekend days a month, no insurance
Statutory employee, not IC. I think their minimum for full-time (paid a better line rate if full-time) is 700 lines a day, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong on that. You pay long distance (most accounts). My accounts are heavy ESL.
Axolotl's insurance starts in 30 days

Cost for family is less than $300 for medical, dental and vision with good coverage.

You have to wait 90 days to quality for insurance and the other benefits. sm

There are 3 different plans for coverage -- basic, choice, and ultimate, I think -- and you choose which one is right for you. I do not have the paperwork handy, but it seems like good coverage at a reasonable price (single coverage, don't really remember about family), and you can also opt for dental and vision insurance.  You are right, though, the premium is deducted every 2 weeks.

Really sad where people will readily list places they hated but not name places that are great.
What a wonderful, sharing group of people MTs are. :-(
After 90 days full time, you are eligible for health insurance, 401k, Aflac, sm
and life insurance. One year for PTO. Direct deposit right away.

I am happy at Keystrokes, and happy with the benefits. The insurance is a little high, but my husband has a union job and it would cost us more to have him carry all of us.

The HappyKeystrokes poster seems to give a lot of misinformation. I have as much work as I can handle, but I do not type 350 lph or whatever amount she/he claims. I average 200 lph, up a little some days, down a little other days, but that depends on the doctors dictating, my motivation for the day, etc. Spring is the worst as I have hayfever and headphones bother my ears right now.

My check is right, is on time and is direct deposited. My taxes withheld are correct and SS has been paid (unlike somewhere else I worked that messed up my SS and did take out for state taxes). My lead is supportive and I think the company cares about their employees. I am happy with Keystrokes and cringe when I see posts like Happy Keystroker writes, which make us all look like Stepford Wives. This is a job, just with a company that I like working for.

I wanted to paint a more realistic picture.
That is what I just said. !0 days PTO, period. That includes vacation, sick days and personal days
They should have paid holidays so that you are paid if you take off. Also should inculde extra hours for sick days and personal days.

That annual raise of .002 is kind of a joke especially when at the same time they upped the minimum line requirement from 10,000 lines to 12,000 lines.

OSi just does not have the qualified people in management positions that I wish to work for.

I am glad that you are happy at OSi and all is working out for you. Their dishonesty and the way they treat people just does not work for me.

Of course they can get by cheaply by hiring unqualified people so that is very good for the owners.
JUST FOR KICKS - Who here would support

and/or participate in UNIONizing?

Serious replies appreciated - on board and/or privately via email.

SEE my post below JUST FOR KICKS
before the post slips off the main board :)
this is where expierience in the profession kicks in. nm
.
TransHealth kicks in the 1st day of the next month after employment. IOW sm
if you are hired and start on the last day of the month, you will have insurance the very next day. You can't beat that, plus it is excellent insurance and the cost if the lowest I have seen of any MT company
I just applied at Transcend for kicks and giggles

I'm kind of putting some feelers out there.  I'm currently working as an IC for a company and very happy, but would like to get some work somewhere else also to bring in some extra money.  I have never heard such questions on an application before.  Very strange.  Anyway, I don't know if I'll hear back from Transcend or not, but if anyone has any leads as to any good companies that are worth it how about letting a gal know!

TIA!!

I'm a new hospital employee through Diskriter and you are correct. Ins kicks in 1st month after h
You cant beat the benefits and that is why I chose hospital. You get PTO, holiday pay, downtime pay, and sick time. The insurance is one of the best out there.
You bill 30 days behind, and they snail mail it so it's late - about 40 days from invoice
No way jose - they even messed up their direct deposit payments
Maybe she/he works 14 hour days/7 days a week? nm
x
401k funds are protected by govt insurance similar to the insurance
that banks have (FDIC). It is safe even if the company goes under.
The insurance cost is double for Transcend but insurance probably doesn't factor in for her.
I have heard more good things about Axolotl than Transcend, although it seems Axolotl may be less flexible with your schedule and someone told me that QA was pretty strict, which should not matter either if you have worked for a hospital and know what your QA score is.
Would that be 5 business days or 5 regular days?
So when are we going to be paid this time around since you're so knowledgable?

Sorry, but for some of us a day or 2 actually makes a difference.
Most want 20 hours over 5 days, but it could be more, or it could be spread over 4 days. nm
s
Correction - TH has 5 PTO days 1st year/10 days 2nd yr

Axolotl within 30 days. Transolutions in 60 days. NM

It is true. Any job has its good days and bad days.
Perhaps you'd like to just keep your old job and try this one out. Just because a poster here is crabbing about it, or even if as in the past there have been negative posts, odds are that there are very happy people who don't even post or know that this board exists. As Alice says. Everything is relative. The fact that this company is hiring and pays may be a place which is a blessing. As opposed to digging ditches on day labor for example. Or somebody might prefer digging ditches. This is just an example. Sometimes we who are employable, even though we don't make as much as we used to in this business, or as much as we would like to, we still if working at home do not pay for gas to go to work, career clothes, deal with office politics, have to look at a boss who writes us up if we are a minute late, etcetera. I don't make half as much as I used to, but I don't send my 3 children to day care which by the way saves us money. SO I remind my husband I am worth that in addition to my salary if I had a job outside. No job is perfect. I am not even sure if Focus is any good or not, I have not worked there. But if one poster says there are good days and bad, I say that is the most honest answer you are going to get anywhere, and if you need a job badly, how is it to hurt trying it out, until you know for sure for yourself? THanks for listening. But sometimes this board gets to be a bit much with the agendas of people railing on other people like the OP here who just wanted all opinions instead of just one side. Balance is always great. And, if things seem lop-sided, then it is a good thing to seek out both sides. IMHO.
I think they would. Those are good days for 10-hour days. sm
I have a set schedule but it is Tues-Sat and it works well for me. It wouldn't hurt to ask!
90 days is correct. 3 days off 1st year, 10 during 2nd.
nm
The insurance plan in my opinion is excellent insurance. I am not sure if it will change when it'
time to renew or not. I really hope not but I know that a lot of companies change every year in an effort to keep costs down because most insurance companies start raising rates after you have been with them a year. The insurance is Great West and they also have excellent dental and vision plans. I believe the cost is less than $70 a pay period for the employee.
Insurance sucks compared to my old insurance... sm
The insurance seems like they don't want to cover anything, even simple prescriptions I used to pay 4 or 10 dollars on I now pay 20 to 43 dollars.  I like the company/people so far, just don't like the insurance.
Been both places
I would say you won't better yourself.  Of the 2, I'd choose Spheris but I'm not still there either.
Could you tell me the better places?
What companies are there, if you don't mind, in case I have to look. THANKS!
Most places like you to have in the mid-90s at least. Sorry. nm
s
Some places will let you do Fri., Sat., Sun. Never saw
s
There are other places that pay well.....
I'm SE and 9.5 cpl with 6.5 years of experience.
I have done it several places sm
I love TransTech, I MEAN I REALLY LOVE IT. I am IN love with MT again.
places to go
I know several of us have gone to Encompass, Keystrokes, Webmedx, to memtion a few.
places, places
sorry i got kids screaming at me right now. Thought I better correct it before one of the high and mighties say something.
no more than other places
and it would depend on the account.  As in most cases, I have found that after doing the account for a while and getting used to the dictators, there will only be a handful that really continue to be difficult each time you get them, when you sigh because you know it's going to lower your line count.
Maybe you should look other places for
companies rather than just ONE single board. There are MANY companies out there who don't post ads here, and many who don't post ads at all.
Actually, that is cheap. Most places much more. nm
nm
No, there a lot of places that have two divisions.
I just don't think you see it much in transcription companies. I love the small company feel of MDI.
This is going places it never should be, all over a comma. nm
nm
Few places inside...sm

Dial up:  First Choice, Spheris, Precyse only if 37K or faster, and SoftScript.

Satellite allowed:  Precyse, TRS, Opti-Script, WebMedX, Probity, and MQ.  nm

Here's a few places that have been mentioned..sm..
Accuscribe, DSG, Echo Sten-Tel, Execuscribe (just started using it recently), InTouchMI, MQ, and VanBelkum.
Don't know about Good places, but here are a

DeVenture, MedGarde (supposed to be not goodl), Meditech in Georgia, MTS in Mass., NEMT, Nicholas Transcription of New Hampshire (but no pay until the client pays them!), Opti-Script in Penn, and QED. I do not know if these places are currently paying weekly - other than DeVenture - only that they have in the past. Good luck!

Is everything getting counted the same way? Many places don't
s
places to work

Hey, just a shout out to all.  Of these companies who are the best to work for.  Transolutions, Webmedx, Axolotl or DSG.  Anything you have to say about line rate, benefits and equipment provided would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
