In Reply to: Hey.... - hopefully soon to be ex-MQ

Haven's started yet, but E-mail me if you'd like and I'll tell you what I can. The Q was just unbearable to me.

Companies with flexible 12-hour window schedule
What companies offer a flexible schedule where your work can be completed within a 12-hour window?
HOW IS IT YOU RATE BONUS INCENTIVES = SM
while everyone else is struggling - or are only a select few getting offered bonuses? Rest of us are asked to Pleeze help before the account goes out of TAT. Lot of MTs out on PTO. Some of us would like to get in on that PTO (lots are ineligible) as well as the bonuses.
yes. at new lower rate.
nm
Webmedx has BCBS and some accts pay that rate, more with incentives. sm
Plus we have shift differentials too.
Lower rate/better dictators
Again I agree with you!   The MTSO, hospitals should go to dictators that are bad or hard to understand and ask them politely to clean it up.  How are we supposed to do our jobs 100%  when we get crap to deal with? You give clean dictation you get clean reports.  Any fool can figure that out . . . . well maybe not.
lower pay rate for templates
Hi folks, Has anyone heard of getting a lower pay rate for templates? The company I work for is lowering their pay rates for what comes up as templates to 2 cents per line and say they will continue to pay the 8 cents per line for what we actually type? I have not heard of this before and was wondering if this was a common practice? Thanks for any feedback you might have.

Elizabeth MT since 2001
EditScript and lower rate
I don't understand how you can think it's all right for a company to pay less because the VR system is good. Shouldn't it be a given that a company would have the best system they can find and not dock you? Seems like they are paying for having that system on your back and you think that's OK. That is really, really sad.

I happen to use EditScript (or Escription) and think it is an excellent program, though still prone to humorous errors. I make 4 cents a line for VR and wouldn't mind making more.
I think they do hire PT, but at a lower line rate (nm)

I have heard hourly rate is now lower in $12 to $15
per hour range. Lots of companies pay by line. Forget it with handling MTs - no win situation now matter how you deliver it. Truly the downside of the job.... a real bummer.
or tell you they "revised" their pay scale and give you a lower rate.
x.
8 cents new pt, visit, lower rate for returning visits??
Now this is a new one.
Bummed!!! Apparently the MDI-FL side doesnt get incentives. It seems like the benefits/incentives
would apply to everyone. Oh well, wouldnt be the first time.
Incentives? What incentives? Lucky I can get the minimum lines.
nm
Unfortunately, the "many MT jobs" have very low pay rates, and getting lower and lower. nm
x
Maybe since work is low they should offer some incentives..sm

Maybe offer more on their line rate.  Maybe that would keep people around since nobody can get their line counts in.  I am barely making it.  My house payment is 2 behind, my bills are behind....Just because I am TRYING to have faith in them and hope things will turn around.  I like the company and 95% of the people, but it is really getting hard - too hard to live with these little paydays.  I just hope something turns around fast.  Maybe the ones that really don't have faith in them will leave and there will be more work for the ones that have the faith.

I am getting frustrated but I am hanging in there....

how does line incentives work?

If your company says they will pay .01 over 2000 lines daily, does that mean if you type 2100 lines you get the extra .01 for ALL lines or just the 100 you went over?

Work's lower in some regions than others. Need sm
evening/nights and, as always, weekend warriors.
window of work
Some accounts also need you to be available during your assigned shift in case of stats. They might not care if you're not typing for 8 hrs. if you've met quota and the acc't. isn't out of TAT, but might need the account covered for the full 8 hrs.
MDI-MD has 24-hr window to do your work.

But as work at home IC, deductions can often lower

24 hour window to do work?
Are there companies who do not require a strict schedule to get your work done, so you have a little flexibility to work your hours in a day?
I currently work a 12 hour window.
nm
I don't understand - she wants you to work a certain 8 out of your 12 hr window? (sm)
I tend to work about the same schedule each day, but if I have something come up like Dr. appointment for my mom or something I am truly grateful for that 12 hour window. Have NEVER been told to stick to a certain schedule within that.
Set-in-stone schedule or will they allow a window for work? nm

Nationals with 10- to 12-hour window to work 8 hrs?
I did a search in the archives, but the info I found was a little outdated. Thanks for any help you can provide.
The thing is, if we just "suck it up" and send the work offshore to lower sm
the rates, there will be no work for U.S. MT's. There are plenty of hospitals and doctors that do not want their work offshore to keep us all in shoes.
Anyone know of any companies that let you work within a 24 hour time window? sm

I am wondering if there are any companies that let you work anytime you want as long as you get your daily or weekly line count in?  Thanks....

I have many, many years experienced and was just told a little while back, even though I am an IC, that I have to have a set schedule...And I am struggling to follow the set schedule due to family illness....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any companies that allow you a 12-24 hour window to complete work?
x
Does Webmedx has a strict schedule or a window to get work done?
I tried searching boards, but too many entries came up. Thanks
Absolutely - I work off FTP and have a 24-hour window to return files.
I work my own schedule daily and keep my TAT. It is that simple. No big deal. I download my files late in the evening, transcribe the next day and upload them late in the evening.

Whatever works!
Your kidding yourself; NO 12-hour window at Transtech AT ALL! You work your schedule EXACTLY !
This is a fact and all TT MT's know this.
Yes, they outsource, yes you really need to be flexible due to not enough work going around on some
accounts but they are easy to work with as far as leaving you alone to do your work. The benefits are pretty good but you have to maintain that certain line count production to get them and sometimes that can be challenging. It is just hard to have asked for a day schedule and placed on an account that really doesnt want you until until later in the day. I am not that flexible because I have a set schedule with kids, but if your a go-with-the-flow kind of girl, I'd say to try them out.
That's because you're an IC. For employees, NOT flexible. And no work. nm

First Choice Medical- flexible? weekend work

Just be flexible with your work types and accounts and you should be fine.

Acute and/or clinic work? Set schedule or flexible hours? Thank you! nm

Why would anyone what to work for practically nothing. I make 5 cpl editing, flexible schedule etc.
As long as they can get people to take those ridiculous wages that is what they will offer. Your an IC so you have no benefits, thus they do not have much of an overhead and you can bet they are getting a whole heck of a lot more cpl than they are offering their MTs.. but I guess that is the only reason they are in business... to make a huge profit. Unfortunately, at YOUR expense. What a sad day... 1.5 cpl..
Oh, I forgot to mention....must be flexible and have all day to devote to waiting for work.
The work fluctuates too much. Feast or famine there.
Need good small company to work for with flexible schedule - e-mail me.nm

Keystrokes....very flexible, tons of work, great leads, good pay...
I love it there...
DSG is awesome-pay on time, management is great, plenty of work, flexible schedule. nm

Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
I do not work for that rate of pay either
I have posted time and time again about people being scared about losing their job due to VR. They were told so fast, so good and on and on. I have told them no worry at all. The same platform, the same account for 5 years now, and still major mistakes made. I understand because I do this each day I work. For instance a dictator said food yesterday and foot was put in, well a person has to be an eagle eye to catch. I am graded at my job every 3 months and always maintain 98 or above, 99 this month in fact. I can make over $20 a day, usually do but I have to stick right at it and no time for this and that extra. I do not make a low salary such as 10, most on VR do not I would think. It is not for everyone. If you cannot do it, then maybe will have to find some work that you can do but I think this much even if you find another job not using it, VR seems to be the thing going and it might mean a lot of moving year after year trying to find a fit or else another profession.
Is ER work clinic rate?
I was hired to do clinic wotk but over half my work is ER with ESL doctors and interns.  Shouldn't this be paid at a higher rate, or am I dreaming.
Reduction in rate for ASR work. (sm)
I know Medquist does 20% reduction for ASR and I have heard some do 50%.  I can't imagine doing this for 50% less on my line rate.  There must be something more to this.  Info?
better rate if work fast

You also need to take into consideration the correctness of your work with that speed!

True - Regardless of line rate, if the work isn't
flowing like you need/want it to, then you'll not make your goal.

That's great.What's the rate?Do you work holidays?
nm
How is Wedmedx to work for and pay rate?? Thanks for info

Just curious..

Too low even at that rate probably still expected to work many many hours
?
