so that hasn't been a problem.  I guess it might be just me.

It depends on your account, employee status, amount of work agreed, etc. NM

I am wondering if employees with Futurenet have a hard time having adequate work flow..sm
Just started there not too long ago, but now finding out I am running out of work frequently.  I have several accounts that I can work on, but all are empty most of the time.  Have they overhired or is this the normal?
Yes but the amount depends on the account, length of time, etc.
I have been happy for two years!
The account I am working has a normal amount of ESLs but nothing awful.
I think anywhere you work these days you're going to get some but I have just had the usual amount here.
I work on it. Usual amount of work. Not running out but not backlogged either. They seem to have
about the right staffing on it. Hope that helps.
IC means they cannot tell you WHEN to do the work, only X amount
Otherwise by IRS definition you ARE an employee. I have been seeing a lot of ads lately where companies want ICs for particular hours, and I can't believe people fall for that. The definition of IC versus employee is simple: Who has control? If you have control, you are IC. If the company has control, you are an employee.
Thanks. Do they have good amount of work?
Is the payment on time?
Guaranteed amount of work!

With all of these people complaining about no work at this company and no work at that company, I'd have to say guaranteed work is a load of you know what!!!!  Also, you can pay your own social security.  The employer is making money off of your withholdings.   Hello?  Does anyone here think that it is probably better to owe the IRS at the end of the year and keep your money and invest it yourself, rather than let the IRS have your money for a year to make money off of your money just so you can have a refund?  Grow up and save your own money!

Are these companies paying for downtime when the dictating physicians are on vacation, and there is not enough work to go around?  Doubt it!!!

To the OP:  You'd be better off as an IC and pay your own insurance!

I do have a job a reasonable amount of work
with good pay.  I just haven't worked for this low of pay in many years.  It averages about $10.00 an hour when all said and done, and I didn't know if that is a waste of my time, or get more work at my other job for more money.  It seems the latter one is better, but in this day and age, I always think 2 jobs are more secure just in case one gets low on work.  What would you do in this case?  It is an IC position.
Exactly. If pay is suffiecient for amount of work you

You are assigned "x" amount of minutes every day, you work that out between the
two of you. IC status. Pay is on time every two weeks, but there is a long wait before you get your first check. After that, it's smooth sailing.
Are there any companies that assign a certain amount of work per day
Instead of having to pull from pool? PLEASE  -   PLEASE    -  TELL ME!
companies that assign a certain amount of work
Princeton Transcription out of New Jersey assigns work according to how many minutes of dictation you want a day.
I just use Autotext in Word and find that is adequate
and is too easy. It takes a few weeks to get familiar with everything and you will be okay. Took me about a month to get up to speed.
Yes, that is the way I read the email. MORE than adequate compensation
lllll
I would hate to have to try and balance out # of MTs versus amount of work. (sm)
They can hire for a new account on projected number of lines and projected amount of lines each MT does, but so many variables are involved. That is exactly why I just do MT and let the MTSO and staff handle those issues. Too much for my little brain.

They are a great company and truly try their best. Give them a call. Can't hurt to try.
Are some of their production bonuses tied to the amount of work to QA. I wasnt sure about that. I
think that must be a different bonus.
Then when we MT's are **thrown on** an account because of lack of work on our account

What is so hard to understand about that?

Then we have that account info filed away in a folder in our Outlook Express by name of account and can look at past emails sent out regarding that account.  Not fun to be tossed on an account that you have never seen NOR ever received an email on.  Sounds like business to me.

They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work
My account has lots of work..ask for another account/nm
**
Maybe is it for a particular account. I work M-F. You are required to work one weekend an month.
a
I used to work there and know people who still do...they have no work on clinic account but if you
are acute care or have experience in acute care you will be fine...
I work for them, have no problems with the account/work - sm
New insurance plan went into effect - I think it is really good, but that's just my opinion. They send you the equipment. They have incentive. I like it. Can't complain.
What account do you work?
/
Do you work on a VA account? nm
.
Could be the account too, I don't know how they work out their pay...
but maybe it could be based on whatever the account is willing to pay.  Not sure!
What account do you work on? My
accounts are rarely out of work.
you must be on the same account I am on. Not enough work

Not making enough money for family.

Don't see how we can be out of work when new account
to protect them, but what about us MT's waiting for work. Interesting when I hit my 3-month anniversary with TransTech, my work disappeared.  I am not sure what to think of TT at this time ... No matter how nice someone is -- supervisor, office staff, etc.), if there is no work, WORK is what pays my bills.
So do you work the ER account or
do you work their acute care accounts. He said that the pay is figured differently and that there is no 12-hour window with ER because of the require TAT.

I am just looking for a permanent home where I can stay, instead of signing on and then finding that the line requirement is impossible because there are so many residents, PAs, NPs, and ESLs who are not organized, so leave huge blank areas on the audio or they are constantly saying go back and change, go back and add, etc, that your production is shot. Get a great audio minute count, but they never seem to look at that.
I have a lot of work. I was going to say that maybe it was just your account, but your on 7?? WOW..

I would double check that something funky isnt going on with your work queue.  Maybe, it's not opened up all the way you get different work types etc.

I don't work on that particular account but . . SM
right now work is slow on every account.
Wonder if you work on a different account? NM
sssssss
I work that account. It isn't all that bad. sm
I've had worse too.
Any KS on account out of work (sm)
Does that happen very often?
I work for MQ and have 1 ER account. I did
400 lines in one hour last night, straight transcribing, no speech recognition. Unfortunately, it's only an overflow account. When I do my regular 2 accounts, horrible, crappy teaching hospitals with idiot residents who rotate out every 3 months and are replaced with a new group of idiots, I only do about 175 lph. I love ER.
I work on there (if it is the same account). sm
I have been with KS a few years now and this is a great account IMO. Contact JW directly, as she is the lead, and she can help you. If not, call Becky at the office as she is over all the leads.
I'm looking for an account I used to work on.
Is it okay to ask about a specific account on this forum?  A couple of years ago, I worked for a known transcription company who serviced an account that I really loved, but I understand that company no longer has the account.  Now that I'm looking to get back into transcription, I would love to return to that account--but I don't know the transcription company who has the account at this time.  I'm sure some of you must work on it, but is it okay to specifically name a particular hospital/clinic here?  TIA.
I am on that account and you can work more than that. sm
Also, they raise your pay on there quickly!
There's no work on the account I'm on,

a backup twice and no answer twice.  Luckily (or not) I don't have much of a life and can take 12 hours plus to get my lines in and end up making pretty good money.

Other than that, I'm satisfied working for them, although I've only been there 2 months.  Is there a holiday differential?  I don't recall hearing anything about that?

Just the right amount here...sm
I get the hours I am scheduled for. I've been there a few months now. Going fine. Off of OT finally but not running out.
Hospital Account Work
Go to mtdaily.com and check on their jobs page. There are numerous. Diskriter has issues; be careful. Of course, all places of employment have those, but some you have to be very careful with. It is great to work at home, and there are some great employers. If you don't need benefits, I'd suggest working as an independent contractor as you can set your own hours. However, if you need more discipline and the benefits, working for a national company might be great for you. Good luck.
I worked on that account for a while and want to work on it again. nm
h
I work for that account from home and it is
a great money maker. You have to move to Wisconsin for 6 months to train, though.
I have plenty of work on my account, just having a little .... SM
trouble getting my line count up.  I'm beggining to think I'm getting old and slowing down too much to be on a new account and new system.  Very disappointed in this.
I work for MDI-FL and the account I am on has been slow *sm*
for over a month.  I will not make enough this past pay period to cover the cost of long distance and my Internet connection.  I know they have other accounts that are behind that you can work on but I personally feel the account I am working on is so slow because they overhired on it.  Why did they not put those extra people on one of the accounts that is consistently backed up?  I am in the process of testing for employment elsewhere.  Other than this recent issue with no work/overhiring, I have always been happy with MDI.  I will be sorry to leave but I am sure that the others working on the account will be happy to see me go as it will be one less person taking their lines.
Lots of work on my account... but I saw the
intrascript e-mail too. I am sure if you do not have enough work you can go on it. Contact the office.
I also work on the oncoloyg account...
and besides the usual Holiday slowdown, I was asked to work extra today and this weekend if possible, and I'm part time. I've been there for a month only, though, but in that time, I have not run out of work at all except during the holidays.
It's just that I work for a company who had an account .... sm
that was partly taken over by Focus.  That is to say, we lost part of that account to Focus.  The platform used is Escription, but my company is not part of Focus.
I have been bouncing around from one account to another, and now they are all out of work!
Trying to hang in there, but I need to work, not sit around waiting for work to MAYBE roll in.
I work on the eScription account.
I know I was hired because I needed no training for the software. I don't think they have the time or manpower to train people on the software. They want people to be able to jump right in.
