Yes, thanks for noticing!
I can't blame anyone for being skeptical, I would be too. It is what it is -- I'm just an MT who works there, and it's a great company which deserves a blatant kudos. They aren't hiring right now to my knowledge, so no benefit meant for me in the post. I'm sure there are other small companies that are just as great, but you never hear about them because their turnover is so low and it's hard to get in the door. Again, I really just hope these smaller companies will not die out before work starts coming back from overseas, if it ever does.
Anyone else going from DQS to ExText and noticing

of your line count off the top to account for headers which is not fair because none of the headers are the same for every facility.  It doesn't matter to OSI because they take 17% of your total lines anyway.  This is common knowledge to anyone who has ever had a supervisory position at OSI.  This is thievery plain and simple and matter of fact I left OSi and went to MedQuist.  A lot of people don't like Medquist but I make twice the money that I made at OSI.  DQS is a much better program than ExText.

The post was about going from MedQuist to Transtech and making a lower line count.  I don't know about them but maybe they do the same thing as OSI but I doubt it or there wouldn't be so many happy employees there.  If it doesn't work out for me at MedQuist my next step will be to Transtech.  17% of my work?  No thank you.

You are right too, we are only noticing now that it affects us.

Have been noticing all the posts for SM
companies that the pay is EXTREMELY low.  I can't help but wonder what is going on and where it is going to end.  There is no other profession that I can think of where the pay is as low as this one, and yet the knowledge we need to do this job WELL is not exactly easy or is just something anyone can do.  It just blows me away that we are being taken for granted in this profession!
Noticing a pattern here
Keystrokes gave you no work and then you just got laid off at another job - all this in a few months. Maybe it is your quality of work??
Anyone else going from DQS to ExText and noticing lines are harder to get? (sm)

Both accounts are about the same difficulty, just find ExText more cumbersome and where I used to do 1200 lines in 6 hours on DQS I now take every bit of 8 hours and sometimes that doesn't do it. Am i just getting slow to learn new things or has anyone else noticed this same thing?

Just because you failed it does not mean
I know plenty of people that have not failed as you put it. Please do not try to bring people down by your failure. Be proud of the ones that make it. Geez!!
DSGrs...Are you guys noticing the increasing ESLs???
I have been working on 2 accounts for a while. They used to be pretty good accounts. It seems like everyday there are more and more ESL dictators which means I get less and less lines daily.
FAILED TESTING

The only thing I can say is Quality is definitely #1 priority at Axolotl.  Other than account specs, everything is typed VERBATIM.  You do not add/delete anything.  The ONLY time anything is changed is if a sentence begins with a number.  You can type out the number or recast.  If in doubt, you blank and send to QA.  You do not get errors assessed for blanks unless it is obvious you did not attempt to look it up.  I haven't ever been given an error for an inappropriate blank.

Verbatim is sometimes difficult to get used to.

failed test?
LinK...if you can, please contact me.  We don't have any nephrology accounts, but if you would like more info please feel free to contact me.
Oh and I failed to mention
that 90% of the work I do are ESL. Plus the audio is so bad I have to turn it up FULL VOLUME just to hear sometimes and then all of a sudden it comes thru normally and blasting at full volume, so its probably all in how they're holding it. The list goes on and on really but I think what I've mentioned is enough even for most hardened MTs.
Well said! I failed to mention in my post below sm
that I was making lots more money when Clinton was in office, with the downturn almost immediately after Dubya took over. I hope that things will begin to turn around again for us.

As for the people making comments about being happy to pay for spellcheckers, equipment, etc., that is very true. These expenditures to make my job easier, allow me to produce far more, and sure help come tax time! Ka-ching!

You failed because you didn't use the "TOOL"
If a screwdriver is used incorrectly, it is ineffective also.
Took their test and passed, then failed
I took their test about one year ago, passed it and was offered a job. However, the job training would not start for another 6-8 weeks, so I declined it because I needed to find employment then, not 6-8 weeks from then. Anyway, approximately six months later I retested to reapply and was then told I did not pass the test the second time. It isn't even a difficult test. If anyone figures out what they actually do want, please come back here and post it.

To the person who asked why people keep asking about Focus: Things and people change and there are always new people entering the market as well as policy changes in every industry. Asking about Focus or any other company periodically is certainly a legitamate inquiry. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.
If you failed outright on a probationary period

A critical error would cause a total fail.  A QA can't just make these things up, they document on their end also.  Sounds like maybe a little less bashing the QA and a little more reflection on what you need to work on.

MXSecure test not too bad, but failed anyway because of hyphens.

I too applied for this company and took all the tests.  It took them forever to get back to me, but they said I failed their transcription test because I put hyphens where they did nt belong -- week-end and follow-up on some reports.  I just could not believe that you could fail a transcription test because of punctuation.  But in retrospect, I am glad they failed me and glad I did not get hired on.  This company is probably very picky about everything if they will fail you for punctuation!!!!!

Well good riddance to you too.

I applied there, took their test and have not heard anything. I guess I failed. nm

Tested there 10 days ago and never heard a word back..guess I failed! nm
